  • This study examines and measures the enhancement of intrinsic motivation in learners who have been part of the e-Learning system (www.englishbuddy.kr) for elementary-level English learning, developed based on the systematic application of the motivation theory as dictated by 'interest' and 'self-determination' and put into practice at 3,100 private tutoring institutions. According to the survey conducted on 328 learners in the e-Learning system inspired by the motivation theory and on 150 learners in other English programs, the former was found to have stimulated 'interest' and satisfied 'psychological desire' in the learners, leading to the development of 'specific strategies to motivate learners.' The study has clearly identified how learners are better motivated in the e-Learning environment, demonstrating its contributions to advancing e-Learning, building a practical e-Learning system based on a systematic motivation theory defined by 'interest' and 'self-determination,' and applying the system to some 16,000 learners at 3,100 private tutoring institutions.

  • Recently, parents and teachers consider physical education as a minor subject for students in elementary and secondary schools. Physical education performance has become increasingly significant as parents and schools pay more attention to physical schooling. The sports mining with distribution analysis model considers different factors, including the games, comments, conversations, and connection made on numerous sports interests. Using different machine learning/deep learning approach, children's athletic and academic interests can be tracked over the course of their academic lives. There have been a number of studies that have focused on predicting the success of students in higher education. Sports interest prediction research at the secondary level is uncommon, but the secondary level is often used as a benchmark to describe students' educational development at higher levels. An Automated Student Interest Prediction on Sports Mining using DL Based Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory model (BiLSTM) is presented in this article. Pre-processing of data, interest classification, and parameter tweaking are all the essential operations of the proposed model. Initially, data augmentation is used to expand the dataset's size. Secondly, a BiLSTM model is used to predict and classify user interests. Adagrad optimizer is employed for hyperparameter optimization. In order to test the model's performance, a dataset is used and the results are analysed using precision, recall, accuracy and F-measure. The proposed model achieved 95% accuracy on 400th instances, where the existing techniques achieved 93.20% accuracy for the same. The proposed model achieved 95% of accuracy and precision for 60%-40% data, where the existing models achieved 93% for accuracy and precision.

  • Since the 2000's, interest toward Africa in Korea has increased rapidly. Korea's interest in Africa began in the second half of the 1960's. However, this interest in the 1960's was motivated by political and diplomatic necessity at the time rather than the needs of indigenous groups in Africa. Korea had to oppose North Korea's diplomatic expansion in Africa to gain the support of international organizations like the United Nations. This interest in Africa motivated by diplomatic needs vanished quickly after the end of the cold war in the 1990's. Authentic Korean interest in Africa began to emerge in the 2000's. Korea's rising international status based on economic development led to a natural interest in Africa, which was the last frontier on earth. As a result, African studies in Korea increased significantly after 2010. The increase in the number of theses, articles and books was remarkable from 2010-2016, in comparison with 1957-2010. In spite of the increase in the quantity of thesis, articles, and books, the problem with Korea's African studies is above all, its preponderance. Over 75% of thesis and 70% of articles are concentrated in the domain of politics and economics. This reflects the fact that Korea's interest in Africa is based on short term political and economic interest, indicating that Korea's African studies did not deviate from the rudimentary phase in its quantity and quality. Another problem with Korea's African studies is the lack of integration of different types of research. African studies in Korea has three components, government funded research centers, university laboratories and individual researchers. The government funded research centers focus on the overview of African nations and their political and economic information. University laboratories mainly perform research on the theoretical aspects of politics, economics, human sciences and culture in Africa. Individual researchers are concerned with various categories. However, these three groups have failed to achieve a synergic effect on African studies in Korea and most of the research on Africa does not extend beyond each academic area. To overcome this problem, first of all, a live exchange may be necessary between domestic researchers.

  • This thesis is designed to discuss the development of the Korean Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and establish a development strategy for the future. The development has been achieved with the enthusiasm and interest of physical therapists from all over the country over the past 10 years since the establishment and the Academy has been receiving attention from the medical part. The Korean Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy will develop a variety of training programs for the research and development of orthopedic manual therapy and will establish a development strategy and master plan for the future in order to lay a foundation for orthopedic manual therapy.

  • As non-face-to-face culture melts into people's daily lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in the metaverse has also increased significantly. There are several types of metaverse depending on the purpose of applications. With this recent explosive interest in the metaverse platform and demanding applications on it, there have been various contents for metaverse in progress in industries. However, developing such contents has many real problems since there is no valuable guidelines for metaverse contents development in industry. In this study, we aim to propose a development guideline that developers can refer to for game-type metaverse content by comparative analysis of existing contents among various metaverse types. In the development guideline, we derive common characteristic components of representative features for game-type metaverse platforms and give explanations on developing strategies. Such proposed development guidelines are verified by game-type metaverse field experts by survey.

  • As environmental problems such as global warming, and ecocide have a great influence on society, the attention to environmental pollution is being expanded. To solve the environmental problems, the awareness and practice of members of society in question is required. However, it has been found that few people are participating in practising environmental protection in real life. Our main goals are to show that Gamification has great potential in delivering messages for public interest and to suggest guidelines for researchers and public contents developers who engage in designing in relation to Gamification. Based on the domestic and foreign theoretical investigations, we found that Gamification mechanism made based on psychological mechanism of users aims at public interests' value by maximizing motivations of users and spreading social relationships among people. As shown in the case study, if contents are developed by reflecting the elements which stimulate challenging of users, the elements which can express their opinions, and the elements of altruism which form the sympathy in the development of public interest contents in the future, practical participation of people to solve social problems can be expected.

  • This study aims to define structural relations of security science majors' career satisfaction, career identity and career decision-making self efficacy. In addition, as confirming immediate effects, indirect effects as well as total effects, the study offers basic materials for reasonable career exploration and career program development. In order to achieve the research goals above, the study conducted a survey targeting a total of 239 college students specializing in security science and carried out a structural equation model analysis. Findings of the research are summarized as follows. First of all, major satisfaction turned out to have significant influences on career decision, career certainty and career interest. Second of all, the study found out that both relationship satisfaction and general satisfaction are significantly connected with career decision and career certainty. Third of all, social awareness appeared to have a significant influence on career interest. Fourth of all, the study learned that in terms of career decision and career certainty, they are all significantly related to problem solving, information collection and plan development. As for career interest, the study noticed how significantly if affects both problem solving and information collection. Fifth of all, major satisfaction was observed to have mediating effects on problem solving and information collection through career decision. Sixth of all, via career certainty, major satisfaction has mediating effects on problem solving as well as information collection. Seventh of all, when it comes to relationship satisfaction, it has mediating effects on problem solving, information collection and plan development through career interest. Eighth of all, career decision helps general satisfaction have mediating effects on problem solving and information collection. Focusing on the research results above, the study discussed implications in relation to security science including advices for any follow-up researches.

  • This study proposes a technology valuation model applicable for railway technology Increasing number of transactions and investments in technology has sparked a growing interest in technology valuation. However, it has not been easy to come up with an objective valuation of technology due to variance in technology value, purpose of valuation, and technology patterns. The main object of this paper lies in the study of the valuation model and the development of a new approach for railway technology valuation.
