  • This study presents relations between the time lag and interaction index of the impinging-jet injectors using time lag model in a model chamber. To analyze the response of the flame, 5% amplitude of oxidizer velocity is artificially perturbed at a resonance frequency. At the mixing point of fuel and oxidizer, which determines the characteristic length, the relationship between velocity perturbation and heat release rate is quantified by combustion parameters of interaction index and time lag. As the improved method to apply the time-lag, the method using the average velocity obtained from numerical results is suggested.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between mother's management behaviors of their children's peer interaction, their beliefs about social skills, recollections of childhood peer relationships, and interpersonal competence. Subjects consisted of 258 mothers of 4- to 5-year-old children. The sample of mothers completed a series of questionnaires assessing their beliefs of social skills, their peer experiences, and the involvement activities of their children's peer relationships. The results indicated that the beliefs about social skills, recollections of childhood peer relationships, and interpersonal competence were associated with the mother's management behaviors. Maternal memories of childhood peer relationships were the best predictor of mother's management behaviors of their children's peer interaction.

  • In this paper ALPS/ISUM will be used to analyze the ultimate strength of four ships under vertical moment. Two of the ships are commercial vessels and the other two are cruisers. A procedure is also developed to determine the ultimate strength of the four vessels under combined vertical and horizontal moments. A simple analytical expression for an interaction relation under combined moments is proposed based on the results obtained for the four ships and the earlier work.

  • Western Medicine had been taking the occurrence of a disease as a physical matter and had tried to step forward from this angle till the late twentieth. But lately for about 20 years, a lot of researchers have started to understand the disease and human function as those in holistic system They supposed that the human function was the result of the interactions in 'Mind-Brain-Body' system and tried to explain and prove about the theory at the molecular level. The name of this new field of human science is 'Mind-Body Medicine' and in the center stand the 'Psychoneuroendoimmunology. Traditional Korean Medicine of which the core system was formed 2500 years ago, explains the complex interaction between mind and body with the theory of 'Mind-Brain-Body' system. To research on the correlation between mind and body, we tried to explain from the viewpoint of medical classic about the philosophical background, relations among mind, five viscera, and body, interaction between mind and body.

  • The relations between the repulsive interactions and the electron density overlaps are investigated for various closed shell-closed shell pairs, including the systems containing alkali and halide ions. It is found that the repulsive interaction($V_{rep}$) depends on the overlap of the electron density($S_{\rho}$) according to a simple exponential relation, $V_{rep}$ = $As_{\rho}\;^{\alpha}$. Furthermore, for most of the closed shell systems the $\alpha$ values are near unity and the A values do not vary much. The same tests are also performed for the open shell-closed shell, and the open shell-open shell pairs. Although the results for these systems also show exponential dependences of the repulsive interactions on the density overlaps, the details of the dependence differ greatly from those for the closed shell systems and also vary widely from one individual system to another.

  • If the magnetic field is extremely strong, as in pulsar/black hole magnetospheres, the Alfven speed approaches to the speed of light and we need relativity to describe interactions of Alfvenic waves. In this poster, we discuss physics of Alfvenic turbulence in this limit. We first discuss interaction of Alfvenic wave packets and scaling relations of resulting turbulence. Then we show results of numerical simulations. Finally we compare relativistic Alfvenic turbulence and its Newtonian counterpart.

  • We investigate Frohlich-like electron--optical-phonon interactionsin uniaxial crytals based on the macroscopic dielectric continuum model. In general, the optical-phonon branches support mixed longitudinal and transverse modes due to the anisotropy. For heterostructures with double interfaces and superlattices, it is known that confined, interface, and half-space optical phonon modes exist in zincblende cystals. In uniaxial structures, additional propagating modes may exist in wurtzite heterosystems due to anisotropic phonon dispersion. This is especially the case when the dielectric properties of the adjacent heterostructure materials do not differ substantially. The dispersion relations and the interaction Hamiltonians for each of these modes are derived.

  • The present study aimed at investigating the relations between the amount of child care experienced in the first three years of life and socioemotional development of children at age 4 indicated by problem behaviors and peer competence. Using the longitudinal data of the Panel Study of Korean Children(PSKC), the information of 1,699 children were analyzed. The results indicated that any child care experience, hours in child care, full-time child care and early entry to child care were significantly related to children's externalizing behavior problem and play disruption at age 4. Some significant relations were detected between child care experience and better peer competence as well. Interestingly, the patterns of relations were different for boys and girls. Being in child care, a greater amount of child care and early entry to child care tended to be related to externalizing problem behaviors of boys and whereas they were more related to peer competence of girls indicated by play interaction, play disruption and play disconnection. Child care hours at age 3 were relative stronger predictors of children's development compared to those at age 1 or at age 2. The findings imply that the amount of child care during the first 3 years of life does not have strong harmful effects on preschoolers' socioemotional development and that there are differences in the effects of child care on boys and girls.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this research is to examine the differences and interaction effects of perceived risk and product attitudes between Korea and Thailand consumers in accordance with price discount and product types. Research design, data, and methodology - A questionnaire survey was conducted in Korea and Thailand. There were a total of 327questionnaires received, and 322 of them were valid. Respondents consisted of 163 Koreans and 159 Thai consumers. Each question is measured in a Likert-type five-point scale. To verify the difference and interaction effects of perceived risk and product attitudes, ANOVA analysis was carried out. Results - This research found that the perceived risk of Thailand consumers in accordance with price discount and product types is confirmed to be larger than Korean consumers. The difference of product attitudes of Thailand consumers is higher than those of Korean consumers. Thus, product attitudes in accordance with country type and price discount types are verified with the interaction effect. The difference of product attitudes in accordance with price discount type and product types are not founded. The main effect was not verified. Conclusions - The finding of this study can be used as useful information to Korean and Thai retailers looking to enter the global market.

  • For investigation of the interaction of tide and river flow, the derived equations are solved analytically using the approximation method of perturbation. The convective inertia and nonlinear bottom friction terms are included in the derivations. The harmonic analysis is applied to decompose the complicated interaction of the freshwater discharge with various constituents of tide into its individual interaction with each constituent. In this study, four main constituents(M2, S2, Kl, 01) are included. The relations of dimensionless parameters of the tide, especially the dimensionless damping modulus, are then determined for each solution. The results show that analytical solution of dimensionless damping modulus underestimates the measured value obtained from harmonic analysis. Results of water level obtained by applying the analytical model to a tidal reach of the Keum River in the years 1981 and 1982 show very good agreement with those obtained from the harmonic analysis.
