  • This study examined that how precisely MFCC, LPC, energy, and pitch related parameters of the speech data, which have been used mainly for voice recognition system could predict the vocal emotion categories as well as dimensions of vocal emotion. 110 college students participated in this experiment. For more realistic emotional response, we used well defined emotion-inducing stimuli. This study analyzed the relationship between the parameters of MFCC, LPC, energy, and pitch of the speech data and four emotional dimensions (valence, arousal, intensity, and potency). Because dimensional approach is more useful for realistic emotion classification. It results in the best vocal cue parameters for predicting each of dimensions by stepwise multiple regression analysis. Emotion categorizing accuracy analyzed by LDA is 62.7%, and four dimension regression models are statistically significant, p<.001. Consequently, this result showed the possibility that the parameters could also be applied to spontaneous vocal emotion recognition.

  • UML (Unified Modeling Language) is widely used to analyze and design target software. Developers also implement the target software based on the UML artifacts. However, it is difficult to validate whether the artifacts are generated to correspond to the modeling guidelines because the guidelines for UML modeling are described in natural language. This paper discusses rule based model checker focused on whether models are designed according to modeling methodology. We propose rules and their own checker, named GARDIAN, for UML model validation. The checkers are designed for COMET method for the real-time embedded system. We illustrate our checkers using Intelligent Robot system to validate our approach.

  • Identifying crosscutting concerns during requirements engineering phase is one of the most essential parts in Aspect-Oriented Software Development. Considering crosscutting concerns in the earlier phase of the development improves consistency among requirements so that it can help maintain software systems efficiently and effectively. It also provides a systematic way to manage requirements changes by supporting traceability throughout the software lifecycle. Thus, identifying tangled and scattered concerns, and encapsulating them into separate entities must be addressed from the early phase of the development. To do so, first, functional and non-functional concerns must be clearly separated. Second, a pointcut where a main concern meets crosscutting concerns should be defined and specified precisely. Third, it is required to detect conflicts being occurred during composition of crosscutting concerns from the earlier phase. Therefore, this paper proposes a systematic approach to identifying and specifying crosscutting concerns using goal-scenario based requirements analysis. And we demonstrate the applicability of the approach by applying it into the intelligent service robot system.

  • Recently, as the demand for limited resources continues to rise and problems of resource depletion rise worldwide, the importance of renewable energy is gradually increasing. In order to solve these problems, various methods such as energy conservation and alternative energy development have been suggested, and biogas, which can utilize the gas produced from biomass as fuel, is also receiving attention as the next generation of innovative renewable energy. New and renewable energy using biogas is an energy production method that is expected to be possible in large scale because it can supply energy with high efficiency in compliance with energy supply method of recycling conventional resources. In order to more efficiently produce and manage these biogas, a biogas plant has emerged. In recent years, a large number of biogas plants have been installed and operated in various locations. Organic wastes corresponding to biogas production resources in a biogas plant exist in a wide variety of types, and each of the incoming raw materials is processed in different processes. Because such a process is required, the case where the biogas plant process is inefficiently operated is continuously occurring, and the economic cost consumed for the operation of the biogas production relative to the generated biogas production is further increased. In order to solve such problems, various attempts such as process analysis and feedback based on the feedstock have been continued but it is a passive method and very limited to operate a medium/large scale biogas plant. In this paper, we propose "CNN-based production yield prediction algorithm for increasing process efficiency of biogas plant" for efficient operation of biogas plant process. Based on CNN-based production yield forecasting, which is one of the deep-leaning technologies, it enables mechanical analysis of the process operation process and provides a solution for optimal process operation due to process-related accumulated data analyzed by the automated process.

  • In this paper, we proposed new sensor network architecture with autonomous robots based on beacon mode and implemented real time monitoring system in real test-bed environment. The proposed scheme offers beacon based real-time scheduling for reliable association process with parent nodes and dynamically assigns network address by using NAA (Next Address Assignment) mechanism. For the large scale multi-sensor processing, our real-time monitoring system accomplished the intelligent database processing, which can generate not only the alert messages to the civilians but also process various sensing data such as fire, air, temperature and etc. Moreover, we also developed mobile robot which can support network mobility. Though the performance evaluation by using real test-bed system, we illustrate that our proposed system demonstrates promising performance for emergence monitoring systems.

  • In this paper, the proposed method is recognized the hands using color information with input image of the camera. It controls the mouse pointer using recognized hands. In addition, specific commands with the mouse pointer is designed to perform. Most users felt uncomfortable since existing interaction multimedia systems depend on a particular external input devices such as pens and mouse However, the proposed method is to compensate for these shortcomings by hand without the external input devices. In experimental methods, hand areas and backgrounds are separated using color information obtaining image from camera. And coordinates of the mouse pointer is determined using coordinates of the center of a separate hand. The mouse pointer is located in pre-filled area using these coordinates, and the robot will move and execute with the command. In experimental results, the recognition of the proposed method is more accurate but is still sensitive to the change of color of light.

  • With the development of IoT technology, image processing is being utilized in various fields such as image analysis, image recognition, medical industry, and factory automation. Noise is generated in image data from causes such as defect in transmission line. Image noise must be removed because it damages the performance of the image processing application program. Salt and Pepper noise is a representative type of image noise, and various studies have been conducted to remove Salt and Pepper noise. Widely known methods include A-TMF, AFMF, and SDWF. However, as the noise density increases, the performance deteriorates. Thus, this paper proposes an algorithm that performs filtering using a fuzzy logic weight mask only in case of noise after noise determination. In order to prove the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, an experiment was performed on images with 10% to 90% noise added and the PSNR was compared.

  • Abstract Recently, with the development of IoT technology and communication media, various video equipment is being used in industrial fields. Image data acquired from cameras and sensors are easily affected by noise during transmission and reception, and noise removal is essential as it greatly affects system reliability. In this paper, we propose a weight filter algorithm based on the pixel value distribution pattern to preserve details in the process of restoring images damaged in AWGN. The proposed algorithm calculates weights according to the pixel value distribution pattern of the image and restores the image by applying a filtering mask. In order to analyze the noise removal performance of the proposed algorithm, it was simulated using enlarged image and PSNR compared to the existing method. The proposed algorithm preserves important characteristics of the image and shows the performance of efficiently removing noise compared to the existing method.
