Research of Intelligent Home Robot based on Home Network

  • This paper present the control of an intelligent home robot based on home network. The existing research is almost research of independent robot. home network will be a way that equipments in home exchange information. As robot combine home network, robot will be more intelligent and more powerful. We benefit for that load is divided in home network environment. The robot which has ultrasonic sensors performs obstacle avoidance with the Fuzzy Algorithm. Ethernet serial converter transmit the measuring data of home to a home server and the home server accumulates data. The home server controls the robot and manages home according to the acquired data. This paper supposed the home network system that consist of home server, embedded robot and intelligent home robot.

  • Recently, the intelligent service robot is applied for the purpose of guiding the building or providing information to the visitors of the public institution. The intelligent robot which is on development has a sensor to recognize its location at the bottom of it. Four wheels which are arranged in the form of a lozenge support the weight of the components and structures of the robot. The operating environment of this robot is restricted at the uneven place because the driving part and internal structure is designed in one united body. The impact from the ground is transferred to the internal equipments and structures of the robot. This continuous impact can cause the unusual state of the precise components and weaken the connection between each structural part. In this paper, a suspension system which can be applied to the intelligent robot is designed. The dynamic model of the robot is created, and the driving characteristics of the actual robot and the robot with suspension are compared. The road condition which the robot can operate is expanded by the application of the suspension system. Additionally, the suspension system is optimized to reduce the impact to the robot components.

A Wavelet-based Profile Classification using Support Vector Machine (SVM을 이용한 웨이블릿 기반 프로파일 분류에 관한 연구)

  • Bearing is one of the important mechanical elements used in various industrial equipments. Most of failures occurred during the equipment operation result from bearing defects and breakages. Therefore, monitoring of bearings is essential in preventing equipment breakdowns and reducing unexpected loss. The purpose of this paper is to present an online monitoring method to predict bearing states using vibration signals. Bearing vibrations, which are collected as a form of profile signal, are first analyzed by a discrete wavelet transform. Next, some statistical features are obtained from the resultant wavelet coefficients. In order to select significant ones among them, analysis of variance (ANOVA) is employed in this paper. Statistical features screened in this way are used as input variables to support vector machine (SVM). An hierarchical SVM tree is proposed for dealing with multi-class problems. The result of numerical experiments shows that the proposed SVM tree has a competent performance for classifying bearing fault states.

  • In order to implement smart cities that will become living spaces in the fourth industrial revolution era, detailed privacy information such as residents' living information, buildings and facilities information must be collected and processed in real time. While city functions and convenience for individuals are being facilitated, threats to personal information exposure and leakage are also likely to increase at the same time. Therefore, the design concept for personal information protection should be considered and accordingly reflected from the stages of smart city design, technology development and operation planning of intelligent information (AI) facilities. The results of the analysis show that for activation of smart cities and operation of data-driven cities, the concept of Privacy by Design (PbD) has already been introduced in the institutional, industrial and technological aspects, particularly in the cases of European countries and the US. In order to strengthen the local and global competitiveness of smart cities and the country, Korea also needs to actively deploy PbD as a strategy to secure a data-driven economy, which is the core strategy for smart cities. Therefore, the study suggests policy implications focused on approaches to legislative improvement and technology development support, which reflect the basic properties of PbD as defined in the study.
