  • A methodology based on the concept of variable string length GA(VGA) is developed for determining automatically the number of hyperplanes and their appropriate arrangement for modeling the class boundaries of a given training data set in RN. The genetic operators and fitness functionare newly defined to take care of the variability in chromosome length. Experimental results on different artificial and real life data sets are provided.

Evolution of the Behavioral Knowledge for a Virtual Robot

  • We have studied a model and application that evolves the behavioral knowledge of a virtual robot. The knowledge is represented in classification rules and a neural network, and is learned by a genetic algorithm. The model consists of a virtual robot with behavior knowledge, an environment that it moves in, and an evolution performer that includes a genetic algorithm. We have also applied our model to an environment where the robots gather food into a nest. When comparing our model with the conventional method on various test cases, our model showed superior overall learning.

  • 지식 발견 (knowledge discovery)의 관점에서, 단기간 동안 취득된 데이터 패턴을 학습하고자 하는 경우 데이터에 비일관적인(inconsistent) 패턴이 포함되어 있다면 확률적 퍼지 룰(probabilistic fuzzy rule) 기반의 지식 표현 방법 및 적절한 학습 알고리즘을 이용하여 효과적으로 다룰 수 있다. 하지만 장기간 동안 지속적으로 얻어진 데이터 패턴을 다루고자 하는 경우, 데이터가 시변(time-varying) 특성을 가지고 있으면 기존에 추출된 지식을 변화된 데이터에 활용하기 어렵게 된다. 때문에 이러한 데이터를 다루는 학습 시스템에는 패턴의 변화에 맞추어 갈 수 있는 지속적인 적응력(adaptivity)이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 적응성의 측면을 고려하여 평생 학습(life-long learning)의 관점 에 서 확률적 퍼지 룰 기반의 학습 시스템에 적용될 수 있는 두 가지 형태의 적응 방법에 대해서 설명하도록 한다.

  • Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is employed to train fuzzy-neural networks (FNN), which can be employed as an important building block in real life robot systems, controlled by voice-based commands. The FNN is also trained to capture the user spoken directive in the context of the present performance of the robot system. The system has been successfully employed in a real life situation for navigation of a mobile robot.

  • Fatigue damage is the phenomena which is accumulated gradually with loading cycle in material. It is represented by fatigue crack growth rate da/dN and fatigue life ratio $N/N_{f}$. Fracture mechanical parameters estimating large crack growth behavior can calculate quantitative amount of fatigue crack growth resistance in engineering material. But fatigue damage has influence on various load, material and environment. Therefore, In this study, we propose that artificial intelligent fatigue damage model can predicts fatigue crack growth rate da/dN and fatigue life ratio $N/N_{f}$ simultaneously using fracture mechanical and nondestructive parameters.

  • The information technology intensive society rapidly moves from manufacturing industry to information technology industry. This paradigm of Robot is depending on intelligent Robot instead of labor. The conventional Robot worked through environmental variation and shift of job. This Robot is unactively response to men's mandate. And, this Robot have had iterative jobs through manipulation of men. But, this intelligent Robot have new technology through society paradigm shift. The outstanding feature of this Robot is perception function and cognition, mobility and manipulation. The definition of original Robot means forceful and tedious, slavery job. This is from robota, robotnick of the Czech Republic. Karel Capek, a playwriter of the Czech Republic use of this letter at 'Rossum's Universal Robots'. Conclusionally, the Chungbuk province is connected with Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement of Daegu and Sejong City. This affect mutual growth with local industry and advancement of environment about living life in the Chungbuk.

  • This paper discusses the method of vision based sensor fusion system for biped robot walking. Most researches on biped walking robot have mostly focused on walking algorithm itself. However, developing vision systems for biped walking robot is an important and urgent issue since biped walking robots are ultimately developed not only for researches but to be utilized in real life. In the research, systems for environment recognition and tele-operation have been developed for task assignment and execution of biped robot as well as for human robot interaction (HRI) system. For carrying out certain tasks, an object tracking system using modified optical flow algorithm and obstacle recognition system using enhanced template matching and hierarchical support vector machine algorithm by wireless vision camera are implemented with sensor fusion system using other sensors installed in a biped walking robot. Also systems for robot manipulating and communication with user have been developed for robot.

Protecting Privacy of User Data in Intelligent Transportation Systems

  • The intelligent transportation system has made a huge leap in the level of human services, which has had a positive impact on the quality of life of users. On the other hand, these services are becoming a new source of risk due to the use of data collected from vehicles, on which intelligent systems rely to create automatic contextual adaptation. Most of the popular privacy protection methods, such as Dummy and obfuscation, cannot be used with many services because of their impact on the accuracy of the service provided itself, they depend on changing the number of vehicles or their physical locations. This research presents a new approach based on the shuffling Nicknames of vehicles. It fully maintains the quality of the service and prevents tracking users permanently, penetrating their privacy, revealing their whereabouts, or discovering additional details about the nature of their behavior and movements. Our approach is based on creating a central Nicknames Pool in the cloud as well as distributed subpools in fog nodes to avoid intelligent delays and overloading of the central architecture. Finally, we will prove by simulation and discussion by examples the superiority of the proposed approach and its ability to adapt to new services and provide an effective level of protection. In the comparison, we will rely on the wellknown privacy criteria: Entropy, Ubiquity, and Performance.

학교에서 진화론과 함께 지적설계론도 가르쳐야 하는가 (Do We Have to Teach Intelligent Design along with Evolution in Public Schools?)

  • 본 논문은 학교에서 진화론과 함께 지적 설계론도 가르쳐야 한다는 요구가 강해지고 있는 상황에서 그에 대한 판단의 이론적 기초 자료로 활용하기 위한 목적으로 쓰였다. 진화론과 달리 경험적 증거가 거의 없는 지적 설계론이 과학이론이 될 가능성을 검증하기 위해 문헌들을 통해 지능이 무엇인지 밝히고, 그 지능의 흔적이 실제 자연 속에서 발견되고 있는지를 확인해 보았다. 자연에서 지능의 흔적인 '지적 요소'가 경험적으로 발견되면 지적 설계론도 과학이론으로서 인정받게 되어 진화론과 함께 학교 교육의 대상이 될 수 있지만 그렇지 않다면 논쟁할 가치조차 없어지게 된다. 지금까지 지능에 대한 문헌들을 종합한 결과 지능의 정체와 그 흔적을 찾을 수 있었으며, 그 흔적이 사고, 지식, 문명 등 인간으로부터 비롯된 다양한 인위적 산물에서 뿐만 아니라 자연의 모든 현상에서도 발견되고 있음이 확인되었다. 이런 결과를 바탕으로 본 논문은 진화론과 지적 설계론 간의 첨예한 대립과 갈등의 문제를 해결할 방법과 함께 진화론과 지적 설계론이 학교교육의 현장에서 어떻게 다루어져야 되는지에 대한 논의를 제공하고 있다.
