Open innovation has attracted significant attention from both academics and practitioners. However, theoretical and empirical researchers disagree on how open innovation improves firm performance. The inconsistent results reported in the literature may be attributed to the fact that they failed to provide an integrative view of how to make use of internal and external knowledge to enhance innovation performance. Furthermore, although the adoption value of innovation approaches varies depending on firm size and IT capabilities, their impacts have not been adequately taken into consideration. Drawing on complementarity theory, this study revisits the research problem and develops eight hypotheses. Surveys collected from 339 Korean firms were analyzed to test the hypotheses using the supermodularity functions. The results indicated that an internal knowledge-oriented innovation approach has a positive impact on innovation performance regardless of firm size. However, an external knowledge-oriented innovation approach has a positive effect on innovation performance in large firms while having no significant effect on innovation performance of SMEs. Results also confirmed a complementary relationship between internal and external knowledge-oriented innovation approaches in large firms, whereas substitutable relationships were confirmed in SMEs. This study sheds new light on open innovation by identifying the role of different types of innovation approaches, firm size, and IT capabilities.

연구의 목적은 아동평가 중 관찰의 유형과 기능에 대해 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 다른 분야와 마찬가지로 아동의 평가에는 관찰, 면담, 표준화된 평가 방식들이 다양하게 이용된다. 감각통합 치료접근을 사용하는 치료사들의 경우, 아동 평가 중 특히 초기평가에서 기본적으로 관찰법을 이용한다. 명확한 관찰은 평가의 신뢰성과 타당성을 높이는 근간이 된다. 따라서 관찰의 기본적인 방법들과 요소에 대해 알아봄으로써, 향후 치료사의 관찰능력을 제고하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

Listening comprehension is an integrative and creative process of interaction through which listeners receive speakers' production of linguistic or non-linguistic knowledge. Compared with reading comprehension, it may arouse difficulties and thus impose more burdens on foreign learners. The Audio-Lingual Method focused primarily on speaking. Mimicry, repetition, rote memory, and transformation drills actually interfered with listening comprehension. So learners lost interest and were not highly motivated. Improving listening comprehension requires continual attentiveness and interest. Listening skill can be extended systematically only when students are frequently exposed to a wide range of listening materials with an affective, cultural, social, and psycholinguistic approach. Therefore, teachers should help students learn how to comprehend intactly the overall meaning of intended messages. The literature on teaching listening skill suggests various useful activities: TPR, dictation, role playing, singing, picture recognition, completion, prediction, seeking specific information, summarizing, labeling, humor, jokes, cartoons, media, and so on. Practical classroom teaching necessitates a systematic procedure in which students should take part in meaningful tasks/activities. In addition to this, learners must practice listening comprehension trough a self-study process.

As the most widely used media of BtoB e-business, the e-Marketplace can be a way of BtoB e-buisness continuously in the age of c-Commerce with the functional collaborative integration between the e-Marketplace and corporate systems. Moreover, collaborative operations like QR, VMI and so on have shown a great efficiency in the area of BtoB supply chain management. However, some critical considerations are discussed in the selection of trade partners between the e-Marketplace and the SCM. In e-Marketplaces, the intermediation to select partnersusually focuses on the competitive process for lower price. However, in the SCM, the relationship with strategic alliance is more importantly addressed for efficiency. Considering the trend to c-Commerce in Internet commerce, the approach to the collaborative relationship in BtoB commerce has important meanings. In this paper, we proposed and appraised an architecture where the e-Marketplace can be an elelctronic functional method for the relationship based BtoB e-business from the viewpoint of SCM and c-Commerce.

This study purposes to investigate the effects of task-based listening comprehension instruction on improvement of EFL learners' listening comprehension and their attitude and interest. 74 freshmen who enrolled in College English conversation classes in Kongju National University participated in this study. The participants were administered listening comprehension tests and questionnaires. The results show that the listening comprehension instruction through tasks and activities has a positive impact on EFL learners' improvement of listening comprehension and their attitude and interest toward the target language as well.

Supply chain management(SCM) has become an integral part in manufacturing management. And it is often discussed that the actual advantages of supply chain management can be exploited by its integrative management approach. Very often in this context scholars refer to the need of integrating the supply chain. However few examples of truly integrated supply chains are witnessed and it is not always clear what integration implies and how it is implemented. In this paper, it is empirically attempted to analyze the integrated supply chain management practices in a strategic perspective. Using the data gathered from Japanese manufacturers, a taxonomy of the SCM integration strategy is developed and the characteristics of each company group are investigated with a viewpoint of integrated supply chain management initiatives. Furthermore the relationships between the taxonomy and the manufacturing strategy process are also examined.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the process and its influencing factors of technological capability building in a small and medium-sized capital goods sector. This paper first reviews the influencing factors of accumulating technological capability-technology trajectory, technology sources, technological capability, technological learning, technology strategy, and entrepreneurship. The paper then presents the integrative model of technological capability building. The experience of Mirae Corporation, the first generation of venture company in Korea, is also discussed as a case in point to analyse the process of technological capability building in a small and medium-sized capital goods company. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study arc discussed.

BSC(balanced scorecard) is expected of the effective integrated tool of the management problem such as links of the management vision, the strategy, and the business scheme. This study discusses the recent development and problems of hospital BSC practices in in several countries. First, the article discuss the recent development and problems of hospital BSC implementation. Second, we review the links of strategic alignment with hospital's strategy and BSC on weight design, organizational culture and hospital performance. Finally, we explore hospital BSC framework that clarified easy to understand integrative approach to hospital BSC research using contingency theory model.

Development of the mammalian pre-implantation embryos has unique features, such as a slow and unsynchronized cell division, compaction, and eventual formation of blastocysts with inner cell mass and trophectoderm. In order to have a clue on molecular mechanisms that reside in mouse early development, we suppressed expression of early embryo-specific genes with RNAi and observed their development in vitro. We observed developmental defects in embryos microinjected with dsRNAs for Oct4 or Nanog among the tested genes. Careful examinations revealed that development of the most of the Oct4- or Nanog-suppressed embryos were arrested at the morula stage. These results suggest that the Oct4 and Nanog activities are also required for embryogenesis earlier than the blastocyst stage.

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) is one of the most common inherited renal disorders in the world. Mutations in PKD1 located on chromosome 16p13.3 are responsible for 85% of all the ADPKD patients whereas mutations in PKD2 on chromosome 4q21-23 are responsible for the rest of the cases. Genetic heterogeneity and the problems of mutation detection in PKD1 suggest that linkage analysis is an important approach to study the genetics of ADPKD. To evaluate the availability of six (CA)n microsatellite markers for the linkage analysis of ADPKD in the Korean population, we examined the allele frequencies and heterozygosities of the markers. With the exception of KG8, five markers were highly informative, with PIC values over 0.5, but the PIC value of KG8 marker was less informative than other five markers because of the low number of alleles. Therefore, this study will be useful in linkage analysis for ADPKD families in the Korean population.
