  • Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) is one of the most common inherited renal disorders in the world. Mutations in PKD1 located on chromosome 16p13.3 are responsible for 85% of all the ADPKD patients whereas mutations in PKD2 on chromosome 4q21-23 are responsible for the rest of the cases. Genetic heterogeneity and the problems of mutation detection in PKD1 suggest that linkage analysis is an important approach to study the genetics of ADPKD. To evaluate the availability of six (CA)n microsatellite markers for the linkage analysis of ADPKD in the Korean population, we examined the allele frequencies and heterozygosities of the markers. With the exception of KG8, five markers were highly informative, with PIC values over 0.5, but the PIC value of KG8 marker was less informative than other five markers because of the low number of alleles. Therefore, this study will be useful in linkage analysis for ADPKD families in the Korean population.

  • The lastest art is being characterised by an ever active exchange between different genre. Installation Art is an artistic attempt to integrate visually and dynamic consciousness and movement of human beings and the actual living space based on the new spatial concept of integrative Environment Approach. Through the visual and structural reflection of personal experience and movement new interpretation of space in which various activities and events take place in relation to time is realized. The methods of Installation that relate on the contemporary interior design are as follow : expression of object through deconstruction, space of every experience, enlargement of concept of space, space of interactive.

  • One hundred and three random complementary DNA clones representing rainbow trout intestine were par1i811y sequenced as an approach to analyze the transcribed sequences of its genome. Of the sequences generated, 60.0% of the ESTs were represented by 40 known genes. Thirty-five clones of unknown gene products potentially represented 34 novel genes. The most Bbundantly represented messages were the 28S ribosomal protein (6.5%) and beta actin (5.8%). The genes involved in ribosome formation (18%) accounted for the major gene expression. Development of EST panels representing the genes expressed in a particular tissue will be useful in determining the role of these genes in normal function and in response to developmental, hormonal, environmental and physiological changes.

  • A Systematic Wealth Management Framework (SWMF) was developed as a private banking management tool to enable more integrative personal finance management of personal wealth. It is a reference model that provides an unified framework for development, operation, and management and makes provision for personal financial services in today's complex financial environment. This study suggested some practical results from banks and insurance companies that have established SWMF as the differentiation business strategy for wealthy customers. The focus of this manuscript is on capturing the methodological approach most financial institutions in Korea adopted to execute new e-finance planning and implementation based on the SWMF. The alignment between the wealth management business goals and information system architecture at an organization constitutes the main theoretical basis of the study. Relevant discussions are made on the wealth management framework as a general business model for financial industry, on the functional relationship between new information systems and business organizations. Finally, lessons learned from the SWMF implementation are discussed.

  • The emerging concept of the 'neurovascular unit' may enable a powerful paradigm shift for neuroscience. Instead of a pure focus on the 'neurobiology' of disease, an opportunity now exists to return to a more integrative approach. The neurovascular unit emphasizes that signaling between vascular and neuronal compartments comprise the basis for both function and dysfunction in brain. Hence, brain disorders are not just due to death of neurons, but instead manifested as cell signaling perturbations at the neurovascular interface. In this mini-review, we will examine 3 examples of this hypothesis: neurovascular mechanisms involved in the thrombolytic therapy of stroke, the crosstalk between neurogenesis and angiogenesis, and the link between vascular dysfunction and amyloid pathology in Alzheimer's disease. An understanding of cell-cell and cell-matrix signaling at the neurovascular interface may yield new approaches for targeting CNS disorders.

  • Among the building types in which behavioral issues play, the largest role are institutional environments. Such setting share a number of important characteristics ; they serve specific population (e.g. the ill, the elderly , '||'&'||' inmates) : they are directed toward specific social behavioral objectives(e.g medical care, education , '||'&'||' rehabilitation); and they are "Total institution" in which residents spend all of there time. The basic concepts and theories of environment-behavior studies are of direct relevance in understanding such social institutions. In this study, I have examined the relationships between waiting and the specific conditions of the hospital experience. More specifically, this is a study of visitors (outpatient) within the context of the hospital , and the physical setting designated for their use in the outpatient waiting room. Environment behavior studies, with its commitment to individual behavior and the physical environment might well be a particularly way by which a study of waiting rooms can demonstrate the power of this approach and its integrative among disciplines.

  • The clear and mechanical definition of quality is the key success factor for its wide adoption across various industries and non-profit organizations and its popularity as a managerial goal. However, 'Quality of Life'(QOL) which is a common research subject for the various social science fields seems to require a quite different conceptualization of quality. The paper is a conceptual paper which identifies the compatibility and differences between a traditional quality concept and quality in QOL studies. Also, demonstrating from the social systems perspective how quality is conceptualized in measuring the social dimensions of consumption environmental quality, the paper argues the necessity of a broadened concept regarding quality.

  • The aim of this paper is to propose an integrative definition of key account management (KAM) at the organizational level through a content analysis of the existing definitions of KAM available in the business literatures. A representative pool of definitions of key account management was generated through literature review from twenty three journals that covers the divergence of name variety like global account management, strategic account management, national account management, international key account management, key client management, major account management, key customers management and key account management. Relating to the definition of key account management various attributes are identified through content analysis and according to the relevance, profile for each attributes are developed. On the basis of these attributes a diagrammatic and textual definition is proposed that covers the different standpoints and aspects of key account management approach and captures its essence as well. Eventually, several strategic implications are derived that create the field for further empirical investigation.

  • Filenchus cylindricus (Thorne & Malek, 1968) Niblack & Bernard, 1985 was reported from the sandy rhizospheric soils of Poa pratensis and for the first time in Korea. Females and males are molecularly characterized and morphological and morphometric data supplied. Identification was made using an integrative approach considering morphological characteristics and inferences drawn from the analyses of the D2-D3 expansion segment of 28S rRNA and ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 of rRNA partial sequences. Females and males from Korea conform to the type descriptions and also to subsequent species descriptions from Iowa and Colorado USA, Sudan and Pakistan. Despite the close morphological and morphometric similarities with F. thornei (Andrássy, 1954) Andrássy, 1963, the two species can be adequately differentiated based on molecular data inference.
