The article reveals and theoretically substantiates the trends of foreign language teachers' professional training in universities of Ukraine in terms of European integration, which are systematized in three areas: macro-level (system of education), meso-level (universities) and micro-level (subjects of educational process). The article aims to substantiate the trends of foreign language teacher training in the context of European integration and the main directions of creative use of constructive ideas of European experience in the innovative development of education. The article lights up the system for improving foreign language teacher training in universities, which is based on updated goals, content and approaches to the implementation of basic concepts, principles and features of teacher training in European experience, enable us to improve the quality of teacher training, its competitiveness in the European labor market. In the article developed the conceptual model of strategic development of the university in the conditions of European integration. It is emphasized that information technologies provide great opportunities for the development of professional skills and intellectual potential of future professionals. At present, the computerization of the educational process in higher education institutions is considered as one of the first and most promising areas for improving the quality of education. The article offered directions of internationalization of educational activity of university in the conditions of European integration. Diagnostic tools for the development of the university in terms of integration into the European educational space, individual rating and ranking of structural units of the university have been developed; main directions of activity of the laboratory of the skill of the teacher of higher school and methodical recommendations on the creation and the organization of work of scientific laboratories.

The purpose of this study is to introduce Korean teachers and researchers ESL standards for TESOL students developed by TESOL association in 1997. The standards were designed to be useful for teachers and other educators who want to incorporate them in their educational programs for ESOL students in mainly the USA. These standards are important because they articulate the English language development needs of ESL learners and provide directions to educators on how to fulfill the needs of ESL students. Also. they emphasize the major role of language in the attainment of other content area standards. In this paper the author introduced not only the theoretical backgrounds. construct. meaning of the standards, and the ways of implementation but also their lessons to our Korean situation.

An anthological analysis of known literature and historical sources is carried out in the work. It was found that the development of foreign language training of future professionals was influenced by a number of factors: socio-economic (focus on the needs of the labor market, integration into the international space, scientific and technological progress); educational (updating legal documents in the field of education, standardization of educational content, development of methods of professional development of a specialist). The historical period is analyzed and the following stages are determined: ideological (realization of ideological imperative in language and professional training of future specialists; educational-methodical (preparation according to unified curricula, reading and translation as a leading type of speech activity); integration (integration of foreign language teaching and multicultural education)), methodological (use of traditional verbal methods, standardized textbooks). Thus, the research conducted in the article indicates the periods (stages) of formation, functioning and development of foreign language education.

현재 국내 5개의 이동통신 회사들은 각각 다른 markup-language와 플랫폼 및 컨텐츠들을 사용하여 무선인터넷 서비스를 하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 무선인터넷 환경에서 서로 다른 무선 인터넷 플랫폼의 통합 컨텐츠에 관한 연구와 개발의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 HTML 문서의 분석을 통해 WML과 HDML, M-HTML, C-HTML 등으로 자동 변환하는 유무선 플랫폼 통합 컨텐츠 변환기를 설계하여 다양한 플랫폼 상의 무선 인터넷 컨텐츠 개발 시 유지 및 보수가 용이하도록 하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to help the students in middle school improve their English listening comprehension by presenting effective teaching and learning techniques using animation. A good animation provides a self-contained world with language expressed in a virtual context. A few animation such as "Mulan", "The Emperor's New Clothes", and "Gulliver's Travel" are presented. The materials are primarily for English listening comprehension, enhance awareness of American culture and life-styles, and to encourage students' active role in learning English. It is suggested that their use with content-based instruction, where animation provides relevant schema background, makes language relevant and comprehensible. Practical aspects of classroom instruction are discussed, focusing on the adaption of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities to the selected animation. It is concluded that careful animation selection, purposeful lesson planning, and the integration of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities into the content-based lesson encourage natural language skills, especially the listening comprehension and students' interest in English.

The paper discusses the nature of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) and shows how these can support digital library users. It demonstrates processes related to integration of KOS like the Dewey Decimal Classification, $22^{nd}$ edition (DDC22) in DSpace software (http://www.dspace.org/) for organizing and retrieving (browsing and searching) scholarly objects. An attempt has been made to use the DDC22 available in Bengali language and highlights the required mechanisms for system-level integration. It may help a repository administrator to build an IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) integrated with SKOS-enabled multilingual subject access systems for supporting subject descriptors based indexing (DC.Subject metadata element), structured navigation (browsing) and efficient searching.

최근 멀티미디어 자료(Multimedia Data)들을 이용한 멀티미디어 상연물(Multimedia Presentation)의 제작에 많은 관심이 쏟아지고 있다. 한편, 멀티미디어 상연물들의 효과적인 사용을 위해서는 멀티미디어 상연물과 데이터베이스 시스템(Database System)의 통합(Integration)이 필요하며 이에 그래프 타입(Graph Type)을 이용하여 표현되고 있는 멀티미디어 상연물의 검색을 위한 검색 언어(Query Language)의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 검색언어는 멀티미디어 자료들의 물리적 특징과 내용(Content), 상연물을 표현하는 데이터 타입(Data Type)을 표현할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 검색 언어는 사용자(end-user)가 손쉽게 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 앞서 언급된 멀티미디어 상연물 검색 언어가 갖추어야할 요소들을 가지고 있으며 또한 사용자가 편리(user-friendly)하게 사용하는 visual language의 formal basis가 되는 calculus에 바탕을 둔 검색 언어인 GCaluculus/S를 소개한다.

The purposes of this study were to inform the exemplary models of integrated science and mathematics and to analyze and discuss their similarities and differences of the models. There were two steps to select the exemplary models of integrated science and mathematics. First, the second volume (Berlin & Lee, 2003) of the bibliography of integrated science and mathematics was analyzed to identify the models. As a second step, we selected the models that are dealt with in the School Science Mathematics journal and were cited more than three times. The findings showed that the following four exemplary theoretical models were identified and published in the SSM journal: the Berlin-White Integrated Science and Mathematics (BWISM) Model, the Mathematics/Science Continuum Model, the Continuum Model of Integration, and the Five Types of Science and Mathematics Integration. The Berlin-White Integrated Science and Mathematics (BWISM) Model focused an interpretive or framework theory for integrated science and mathematics teaching and learning. BWISM focused on a conceptual base and a common language for integrated science and mathematics teaching and learning. The Mathematics/Science Continuum Model provided five categories and ways to clarify the extent of overlap or coordination between science and mathematics during instructional practice. The Continuum Model of Integration included five categories and clarified the nature of the relationship between the mathematics and science being taught and the curricular goals for the disciplines. These five types of science and mathematics integrations described the method, type, and instructional implications of five different approaches to integration. The five categories focused on clarifying various forms of integrated science and mathematics education. Several differences and similarities among the models were identified on the basis of the analysis of the content and characteristics of the models. Theoretically, there is strong support for the integration of science and mathematics education as a way to enhance science and mathematics learning experiences. It is expected that these instructional models for integration of science and mathematics could be used to develop and evaluate integration programs and to disseminate integration approaches to curriculum and instruction.

현재 초고속 통신망의 발전과 하드웨어의 발전으로 인하여 많은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠들이 인터넷상에서 아주 빠른 속도로 퍼지고 있다. 이러한 환경 때문에 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 제작 환경이 발전하고 있으며, 멀티미디어 콘텐츠들이 늘어나고 있다. 그러나 수많은 음성, 화상, 텍스트등과 같은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 시간과 공간적 동기화의 문제가 발생하기 시작하였다. 그래서 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) 에서는 다양한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 표현을 구성할 수 있는 XML(Extensible Markup Language)에 기반을 둔 SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)이 표준으로 제안되었다. SMIL은 일련의 개별적 멀티미디어 객체를 시간과 공간적으로 동기화된 멀티미디어 표현으로 통합 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 시간과 공간적인 동기화 하고, 통합하여 표현할 수 있도록 SMIL 저작 시스템을 설계 및 구현 하였다.

Given that various classroom contextual factors influence the nature of writing instructional practices, it would be worthwhile to explore these factors to generate better environment for learning to write. Among many factors, this study examined teachers' beliefs and knowledge, which would operate as a very influential contextual factor in that changes in principles and methods of teaching writing would be the results of their underlying beliefs and knowledge related to teaching writing. Three professional teachers who teach second- and third-grade English language learners (ELLs) were interviewed, and the analysis of teacher interviews was conducted. The research findings indicated that basically all of the teachers perceived the role of writing in second language learning as very important, sharing the belief that the ultimate goal of teaching writing is to have their students gain fluency in writing and that some of instructional methods such as integration of writing and other language aspects, content-based writing, and providing scaffolding are important. In addition, some beliefs that two ESL teachers shared included the importance of ample and continuous opportunities to write, vocabulary knowledge, and explicit instruction about writing. Other beliefs, including the importance of creating a comfortable writing environment and opportunities for writing for varied purposes and genres were represented.
