As information has been brought to public attention, information storage as well as information usability has been important. Rural information is produced in many areas and institutions. However, it is difficult to use rural information comprehensively. Since formats for management are various, it is difficult to have unified frame. In this research, a schema of database fer integrating rural data is designed to improve usability using dimensional modeling. First of all, rural data are analyzed for designing integrated rural database schema. Rural data used are 'National Agricultural Statistics' and 'Gun annual statistical report'. Analysis shows that there are three considerations; administrative district, time-dependency and classification of data. Considering these three requisite, we designed database schema using dimensional modeling. The reason of using dimensional modeling is to improve usability and effectiveness. If the database was designed using ER modeling, many tables have to be joined every searching time. Separately from integrated rural database schema, user's database schema is designed considering usability. Through user's database, users can modify data or generate new data and save these processes. These make it possible to use generated data repeatedly. We evaluate usability, contribution, and effectiveness of data manipulation on the integrated rural database. We propose an integrated rural database structure improving the accessibility and usability of rural data and information and verified the data model based on a practical example.

글로벌 연구동향 파악, 이머징 시그널 탐지, 선도연구자 파악과 같은 최근의 정보서비스를 지원하기 위해서는 다양한 정보원으로부터 수집되는 대량의 정보를 통합 관리하는 것이 중요하다. 통합 관리를 위해서는 통합 메타데이터 스키마의 정의, 데이터 변환, 스키마 매칭 등의 노력이 필요한데 그 중에서 가장 먼저 수행되어야 하는 통합 메타데이터 스키마를 정의하기 위해서는 현존하는 다양한 메타데이터의 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 과학기술 학술논문 메타데이터를 메타데이터의 의미구조, 내용규칙, 구문 등으로 나누어 분석하고 통합 스키마를 만들거나 데이터 변환을 하기위해 고려하여야 할 점을 간략하게 살펴보았다. 일반적으로 구문형태는 편리성과 다양한 사용 환경을 지원하는 XML을 사용함을 알 수 있었으며, 의미구조에서는 공통적으로 사용하는 요소들과 구조화, 계층화한 이름 부여가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 요소들 중 다양한 내용규칙을 갖는 것들과 관련 표준을 살펴보았다. 분석된 자료는 메타데이터의 통합 관리, 데이터 변환, 상호운영을 위한 스키마 매칭 등의 연구에 기초자료로 사용되기를 기대한다.

Due to the evolution of computer systems and the proliferation of Internet, numerous information resources have been constructed. The deluge of information makes the need to integrate information, which are distributed on the internet and are handled in heterogeneous systems. Recently, most of the XML -based information integration systems use XML DTD(Document Type Definition) for describing integrated global schema. However, DTD has some limitations in modeling local information resources such as datatypes. Although W3C's XML Schema is more flexible and powerful than XML DTD in specifying integrated global schema, it has more complex problems in resolving conflicts than using DTD. In this paper, we provide a taxonomy of conflict problems in integration information resources using XML Schema, and propose conflict resolution mechanism using XQuery.

This paper presents a prototype of document schema to guarantee the consistency of the bridge design information during the life-cycle of bridge. The main component of document schema for bridge design information is derived from the Document Type Definition (DTD) Pool which is the Construction CALS/EC standard in Korea and the document schema is implemented by using the XML Schema. The ifcXML are adopted for representing product data of bridge. A pilot system adopting the document schema and its application to existing bridge show that the suggested document schema can be efficiently used to develop software modules supporting the integrated design documents for bridges.

최근 연구데이터가 국가자산이라는 인식의 확산으로 원시데이터 관리 및 재사용의 필요성이 이슈이다. 본 연구에서는 데이터의 체계적인 관리를 위해, 스키마 클래스를 상속하는 방식의 메타데이터 설계 모델과 상속을 통해 생성된 스키마 객체들을 대상으로 메타데이터 통합 검색 모델을 제안하였다. 스키마 클래스를 상속한 스키마 객체가 데이터 컬렉션에 1대1의 관계를 갖도록 데이터 아키텍처를 설계하였으며, 제안된 모델의 검증을 위해서 가상 스키마 클래스 및 객체가 시스템적으로 구현 가능함을 증명하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 스키마 클래스 상속 및 통합검색 모델은 일반적으로 사용되는 '하향식 계층 모델'의 단점을 극복하는 모델로서, 정부 기관에서 생산되는 데이터를 독립적으로 관리하는데 활용될 수 있다고 사료된다.

본 연구에서는 개별적으로 생산 관리하고 있는 축제기록물을 통합적으로 관리하기 위하여 메타데이터 스키마를 제안하였다. 연구방법으로 메타데이터와 축제기록물에 대한 문헌조사 및 한국, 호주, 영국의 기록관리 메타데이터 표준을 분석하고 축제조직위원회의 축제기록물 담당자 면담을 수행했다. 이를 통해 축제기록물의 다양한 특성을 반영한 메타데이터를 제안함으로써, 축제와 관련된 다양한 기관들로부터 생산되는 기록물의 통합관리의 효율성을 확보하여 축제 기록물의 체계적인 관리가 이루어질 수 있도록 하고자 했다.

이질 데이터베이스 통합 방법론의 하나인 미디에이터-램퍼 시스템은 각 데이터베이스의 내용이 물리적으로 이동하는 대신, 가상의 통합된 뷰를 유지한다. 미디에이터는 가상의 통합된 뷰를 유지하기 위하여, 지역 데이터베이스와 직접 통신하는 랩퍼의 스키마 관리기의 도움이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 미디에이터에게 관계형 데이터베이스의 스키마를 XML 스키마로 제공하는 랩퍼의 스키마 관리기를 설계 구현한 결과를 제시한다. 설계된 XML 스키마 관리기가 사용자 정의 XML 뷰를 지원하도록 하기 위하여 사용자 정의 XML 뷰로부터 XML 스키마를 생성하기 위한 뷰 트리 모델을 제시하고, 그 변환 알고리즘을 제시한다. 제시된 모델은 이질의 정보원의 스키마 관리기에 대하여 일관되게 적용할 수 있다.

데이터 웨어하우스는 주제 지향적이고, 통합적이며, 비 유동적인 데이터로써 의사결정에 필요한 정보들을 추출하여 OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing)분석에 이용된다. 현재 OLAP 연산자와 스타 스키마 사이의 다차원 모델링에 관한 연구는 많이 진행되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 drill-across 연산자를 통해 객체 지향 개념적 관계와 스타 스키마보다 한층 더 확장된 스노우 플레이크(snowflake) 스키마를 이용하여 관계를 설계하고자 한다. 설계를 통해 star schema에 적용되지 않았던 객체 지향 관계가 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다.

국내외 학술논문을 서비스하는 국가과학기술정보센터(NDSL) 데이터베이스는 다양한 정보원으로부터 수집된 데이터가 분산적으로 수집, 구축 및 관리되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 분산된 학술논문 DB를 분석하여 논문데이터를 고부가가치화하고 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 통합 DB 스키마 도출을 위하여 현재 구축되고 관리되는 학술논문 DB 스키마 및 DB 메타데이터를 분석하였다. 또한, 현재 구매하여 보유하고 있는 Web of Science와 SCOPUS 스키마를 활용하여 비교, 분석을 통한 최종 학술정보 데이터 항목을 정하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 구축되고 서비스되는 학술정보 데이터 항목이 논문, 저자, 초록, 기관, 주제, 저널, 참고문헌 7가지로 요약 도출되었으며 구축중인 핵심콘텐츠로 정의하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 통합 DB 스키마가 만들어졌으며, 향후 이 연구 결과는 고품질의 학술논문 통합 DB 컬렉션 구성과 시스템 최적화 설계를 위한 기반 자료로 활용하고자 한다.

As the technologies for telecommunication have been evolving, more enhanced information services and integrated information systems have been introduced, which can manage a variety of information from the heterogeneous systems. The major obstacle for the integrated information systems is the integrating heterogeneous databases in the systems and the heterogeneity problems can be classified into the structural and data heterogeneities. However, the previous researches have mainly highlighted into the solving structural heterogeneity problems. This paper identifies the data heterogeneity problems for multi-database schema integrations and proposes a new solving method. We analyze the semantics equivalence in data values based on the functional dependency, primary and candidate keys, and present a procedural solution of data heterogeneity in the perspective of the concept of attribute equivalence, integration key and conceptual integration table.
