This paper proposes a new image retrieval method called the 3D integrated multi-index to fuse SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) visual words with other features at the indexing level. The advantage of the 3D integrated multi-index is that it can produce finer subdivisions in the search space. Compared with the inverted indices of medium-sized codebook, the proposed method increases time slightly in preprocessing and querying. Particularly, the SIFT, contour and colour features are fused into the integrated multi-index, and the joint cooperation of complementary features significantly reduces the impact of false positive matches, so that effective image retrieval can be achieved. Extensive experiments on five benchmark datasets show that the 3D integrated multi-index significantly improves the retrieval accuracy. While compared with other methods, it requires an acceptable memory usage and query time. Importantly, we show that the 3D integrated multi-index is well complementary to many prior techniques, which make our method compared favorably with the state-of-the-arts.

Objective: Whether metabolic redistribution occurs in patients with white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is unknown. This study aimed 1) to propose a measure of the brain metabolic network for an individual patient and preliminarily apply it to identify impaired metabolic networks in patients with WMHs, and 2) to explore the clinical and imaging features of metabolic redistribution in patients with WMHs. Materials and Methods: This study included 50 patients with WMHs and 70 healthy controls (HCs) who underwent 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/MRI. Various global property parameters according to graph theory and an individual parameter of brain metabolic network called "individual contribution index" were obtained. Parameter values were compared between the WMH and HC groups. The performance of the parameters in discriminating between the two groups was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The correlation between the individual contribution index and Fazekas score was assessed, and the interaction between age and individual contribution index was determined. A generalized linear model was fitted with the individual contribution index as the dependent variable and the mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean) of nodes in the whole-brain network or seven classic functional networks as independent variables to determine their association. Results: The means ± standard deviations of the individual contribution index were (0.697 ± 10.9) × 10-3 and (0.0967 ± 0.0545) × 10-3 in the WMH and HC groups, respectively (p < 0.001). The AUC of the individual contribution index was 0.864 (95% confidence interval, 0.785-0.943). A positive correlation was identified between the individual contribution index and the Fazekas scores in patients with WMHs (r = 0.57, p < 0.001). Age and individual contribution index demonstrated a significant interaction effect on the Fazekas score. A significant direct association was observed between the individual contribution index and the SUVmean of the limbic network (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The individual contribution index may demonstrate the redistribution of the brain metabolic network in patients with WMHs.

To overcome the limitations of existing rainwater drainage systems, we compared and analyzed a newly developed eco-friendly channel-type rainwater drainage system. We also developed an integrated evaluation index to quantify the improvement of the new system. The concept of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was applied to calculate and compare the costs of each process and to develop the integrated evaluation index, which considers the carbon emissions by each process. As a result, the cost was reduced by 53% overall compared to an O-type system and by 63% compared to a U-type system. In addition, when applying the integrated evaluation index, the new system was evaluated to be over 80% in the four processes compared to the existing systems. When applying the evaluation index to sites in Anyang and Incheon, the new system was improved by 35-100% compared to existing systems.

This research developed integrated service assessment index on satisfaction with road use in consideration of not only quantitative parts, such as the existing traffic speed and delay but also qualitative parts, such as traffic information and traffic safety, etc. The newly devised assessment index developed assessment items and weight using ANP analysis method through the existing research results and questionnaire survey on traffic experts and road users. To verify the developed assessment index, this research measured the feeling degree of road users in time of their driving and analyzed the reasons using the brain waves tester; as an analysis result, the speed shown in the existing assessment index was found to have a 35% effect and further, the factors, such as traffic safety and traffic information were also found to have a lot of effects on the road $users^{\circ}{\emptyset}$ feeling degree. Accordingly, the integrated assessment index suggested by this research has its significance in that it is available to assessment in view of users rather than the existing satisfaction with the service in road use, and this index was developed to reflect the needs of the times, such as a fine view of roads, traffic information, and traffic safety.
This paper measures integrated pollution intensities and changes in pollution intensity, and figure out environmental performance. We introduce a new definition of pollution intensity and its method measuring integrated pollution intensities. We distinguish 24 manufacturing industries into light industry and heavy industry, and divide heavy industry into pollution industry and the other residual heavy industry to measure the integrated pollution intensities and their changes. While the pollution industry within heavy industry, based on the integrated pollution intensity, was the most pollution-intensive, the other residual heavy industry within the heavy industry was the most successive in reducing pollutants. The annualized average index of the integrated pollution intensities grew as much as 9.1 percent, of which the annualized change in the index of pollution emission increased 13.3 percent, but the improvement of 3.9 percent in the change of output quantity offset the increase in the index of pollution emission. The changes in the integrated pollution intensity for the light and heavy industries were 1.125 and 1.042, respectively. The reason the heavy industry showed the lower change in the index of pollution intensity, while the change in the pollution industry was very high, was because the average change in the other heavy industry decreased around 9 percent.
The purpose of this research is to develop an Integrated Water Resources Evaluation Index (IWREI) which can used to assess the performance of water resources projects in a regional perspective focusing on three major sectors including water use, flood, and river environment in water resources policies. The IWREI is estimated by integrating the Water Use Vulnerability Index (WUVI), the Flood Vulnerability Index (FVI), and the River Environment Vulnerability Index (REVI) which represent the vulnerability in each sector. These indices consist of total 26 indicators selected from the pressure indicators representing the causes of damages in water use, flood, and river environment, the state indicators and the response indicators. The estimated index describes the vulnerability and effectiveness of policies with five levels: Low, Medium Low, Medium, Medium High, and High. The results of evaluating total 115 hydrological units in Korea using the WUVI, FVI, REVI, and IWREI indicate that the project effectiveness in water resources policies is clearly verified by the improved index results compared to the past (early 1990s). Regional vulnerability and evaluation indices developed in this research could be used to establish goals of water resources policy and to select priority regions for project implementation.

Purpose : This study was conducted to identify the common characteristics of older persons with sarcopenia and to explore the relationship between gait, balance, and stress using an integrated assessment tool. Methods : In this study, 95 people aged 65 years or older were screened using the sarcopenia diagnostic evaluation algorithm presented by the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia in 2019. Skeletal muscle index, grip strength, and short physical performance battery were used as sarcopenia evaluation measurements. Based on the results of this evaluation, participants were grouped into the 'non-sarcopenia group' (41 participants) or the 'sarcopenia group' (54 participants). Participants underwent further assessment using an integrated evaluation tool capable of measuring gait, balance, and stress. Gait ability was evaluated using the timed up and go test, and balance ability was evaluated using the berg balance scale. And the stress of the last month was measured by modifying the stress index developed by a Korean researcher. Collected data were statistically analyzed using the independent t-test and Mann Whitney-U test. Results : The sarcopenia group and the non-sarcopenia group showed significant differences in all elements of the sarcopenia diagnostic evaluation. There were significant differences in all three integrated evaluation tools. For the evaluation of walking ability, the time measured in the timed up and go test was longer in the sarcopenia group, the berg balance scale score for the evaluation of balance ability was lower in the sarcopenia group, and the stress index was higher in the sarcopenia group. Conclusion : Through sarcopenia analysis using an integrated evaluation tool, it was confirmed that sarcopenia is closely related to decreased walking ability, poor balance, and increased stress. We recommend using this tool to reduce the risk of sarcopenia progression and stress exposure through the planning and implementation of an exercise program for sarcopenia prevention.

This study suggests integrated neural network modes for he stock price index forecasting using change-point detection. The basic concept of this proposed model is to obtain significant intervals occurred by change points, identify them as change-point groups, and reflect them in stock price index forecasting. The model is composed of three phases. The first phase is to detect successive structural changes in stock price index dataset. The second phase is to forecast change-point group with various data mining classifiers. The final phase is to forecast the stock price index with backpropagation neural networks. The proposed model is applied to the stock price index forecasting. This study then examines the predictability of integrated neural network models and compares the performance of data mining classifiers.
This study has intended to build a rural landscape evaluation model based on an integrated landscape assessment paradigm of rural region using an additive integration index method and applied the model to the Seondong Region of Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. To reach this goal, this study developed a model to calculate Integrated Landscape Assessment Index. The model has employed the Objective Landscape Index, the Subjective Landscape Index, and the weighted values, and was applied to the Seondong region. This study has found the following results: 1) forests and water spaces were assessed with relatively better visual preferences and better landscape ecosystem; 2) the historic cultural area and scenic agriculture as well as general farm land were assessed with moderate ratings; and, 3) the villages included in development plan, their adjacent arable farming land, and the village watercourses were forming relatively poorer landscape.

The object of this study was to assess availability of meteorological drought index for agricultural dorught estimation in ungauged area of agricultural drought parameters which are reservoir water level and soil moisture. The IADI (Integrated Agricultural Drought Index) and the SPI (Standard Precipitation Index), which are the criteria for determining agricultural drought and meteorological drought, were calculated and compared. For this purpose, the droughts that occurred in the Baeksan reservoir in Gimje and the Edong reservoir in Suwon were evaluated by using the IADI and SPI drought indecies. In addition, we compared and analyzed the depth of drought based on the two drought indices. Evaluations derived form the IADI and SPI showed that the standard precipitation index tended to indicate the occurrence of drought earlier than the integrated agricultural drought index. However, the integrated agricultural drought index was better than the standard precipitation index at evaluating the severity of drought during the period of irrigation. The relationship between these two drought indices seems to be useful for decision making in the case of drought, and it is considered that more studies are needed to examine the applicability of these drought indexes.
