  • The work researched the application of artificial intelligence to the design and analysis of advanced nanoplates, with a particular emphasis on size and surface effects. Employing an integrated theoretical framework, this study developed a more accurate model of complex nanoplate behavior. The following analysis considers nanoplates embedded in a Pasternak viscoelastic fractional foundation and represents the important step in understanding how nanoscale structures may respond under dynamic loads. Surface effects, significant for nanoscale, are included through the Gurtin-Murdoch theory in order to better describe the influence of surface stresses on the overall behavior of nanoplates. In the present analysis, the modified couple stress theory is utilized to capture the size-dependent behavior of nanoplates, while the Kelvin-Voigt model has been incorporated to realistically simulate the structural damping and energy dissipation. This paper will take a holistic approach in using sinusoidal shear deformation theory for the accurate replication of complex interactions within the nano-structure system. Addressing different aspectsof the dynamic behavior by considering the length scale parameter of the material, this work aims at establishing which one of the factors imposes the most influence on the nanostructure response. Besides, the surface stresses that become increasingly critical in nanoscale dimensions are considered in depth. AI algorithms subsequently improve the prediction of the mechanical response by incorporating other phenomena, including surface energy, material inhomogeneity, and size-dependent properties. In these AI- enhanced solutions, the improvement of precision becomes considerable compared to the classical solution methods and hence offers new insights into the mechanical performance of nanoplates when applied in nanotechnology and materials science.

  • As IT and OT systems become integrated into ship operations, the security of propulsion, control, communication, and navigation systems has become increasingly critical. In response, the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) will enforce cybersecurity requirements starting from July 2024. IACS No. 171 (Recommendations on Incorporating Cyber Risk Management into Safety Management Systems) presents quantitative assessment methods; however, there is room for improvement. This study aims to address these issues by applying the TARA framework, outlined in ISO/SAE 21434 for connected vehicles, to identify attack surfaces and conduct risk assessments of the Ballast Water Treatment System(BWTS), which is crucial for navigational safety. Moreover, the study conducts a comparative analysis of the quantitative risk assessments of IACS No. 171 and the TARA framework, proposing the need for and considerations of a new risk assessment framework, VeTARA, specifically tailored for ships. This research is expected to contribute to the enhancement of cyber risk management in maritime operations.

  • This paper introduces a robot knowledge framework which is represented with multiple classes, levels and layers to implement robot intelligence at real environment for mobile robot. Our root knowledge framework consists of four classes of knowledge (KClass), axioms, rules, a hierarchy of three knowledge levels (KLevel) and three ontology layers (OLayer). Four KClasses including perception, model, activity and context class. One type of rules are used in a way of unidirectional reasoning. And, the other types of rules are used in a way of bi-directional reasoning. The robot knowledge framework enable a robot to integrate robot knowledge from levels of its own sensor data and primitive behaviors to levels of symbolic data and contextual information regardless of class of knowledge. With the integrated knowledge, a robot can have any queries not only through unidirectional reasoning between two adjacent layers but also through bidirectional reasoning among several layers even with uncertain and partial information. To verify our robot knowledge framework, several experiments are successfully performed for object recognition and navigation.

  • As the concurrent engineering concept has emerged along with the support of optimization techniques, lots of endeavors have been made to apply optimization techniques to actual design problems for a holistic decision. Even if the range of design problems which the optimization is applicable to has been extended, most of ship designs still remain in an iterative approach due to the difficulties of seamless integration of all related design activities. In this approach, an entire design problem is divided into many sub-problems and carried out by many different disciplines through complicated internal interactions. This paper focuses on preliminary ship design process. This paper proposes a process centric integrated framework as the first step to establish a workflow based design process management system. The framework consists of two parts; a schedule management part to support a manager to monitor current progress status and adjust current schedule, and a process management part to assist a design to effectively perform a series of design activities by following a predefined procedure. Overall system are decomposed into modules according to the target to be managed in each module. Appropriate interactions between the decomposed modules are designed to achieve a consistency of the entire system. Design process model is also designed on a thorough analysis of actual ship design practice. The proposed framework will be embodied using a commercial workflow package.

  • In order to build a smart factory, building a CPPS (Cyber Physical Product System) is an important system that must be accompanied. Through the CPPS, it is the reality of smart factories to move physical factories to a digital-based cyber world and to intelligently and autonomously monitor and control them. But The existing CPPS architectures present only an abstract modeling architecture, and the research that applied the OPC UA Framework (Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture), an international standard for data exchange in the smart factory, as the basic system of CPPS It was insufficient. Therefore, it is possible to implement CPPS that can include both cloud and IoT by collecting field data distributed by CPPS architecture applicable to actual factories and concentrating data processing in a centralized In this study, we implemented CPPS architecture through central OPC UA Server based on OPC UA conforming to central processing OPC UA Framework, and how CPPS logical process and data processing process are automatically generated through OPC UA modeling processing We have proposed the CPPS architecture including the model factory and implemented the model factory to study its performance and usability.

  • Korean government has initiated integrated-energy business (IEB) in Mokdong for energy conservation in 1983. Since then, IEB has been steadily expanding. This paper attempts to apply input-output(I-O) analysis to examine the economic effects of IEB. A static I-O framework is employed, focusing on three topics in its application: the impact of the investment of IEB on the production of other sectors and the inter-industry linkage effect; supply shortage effects of the IEB ; and the impact of the rise in IEB rate on prices of other products. The paper pays closer attention to IEB sector by taking the sector as exogenous and then investigating its economic impacts. The results can be widely utilized in decision-making about IEB policy.

  • PL has been developed centering around England and America. Recently many countries are introducing PL system changing the world a single economic bloc based on the rapid development of Technology and Economy. This paper is studied with related literatures and theses, organizational consulting cases within the framework of the firm as the central operating bodies of PL system. In the past, Some papers about System Integration which was operated as a same Certificate System and enacted in a single organization, was studied and presented. But most of papers was a theoretical study related model and conception. In this situation Government supports PSMS of a single system at government expense to 100200 companies for improving organizational confrontation ability of PL this year. This paper proposed a design and effect of Integration system model based on the analysis of ISO 9001:2000, KS, PSMS and ISO 14001. The integrated system has the following three distinctions. Firstly, KS is a national establishment, national leading certification and forcing standard. Secondly, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 are an international organization's establishment, nonofficial certification and optional standard. Finally, PSMS isn't a national law and forcing matter. And it isn't the concept of certification but the operational system by itself. Also if a lawsuit by defect is happened, it is very dangerous. This paper, which is integrated by four management systems and has many consulting cases, is the first in this department and is different from others. Also If people has the basic knowledge about management system, they can directly connect it to the organizational system according to this paper's guidance. It is very good result in this study because the law of PL is executed now.

  • This paper presents an integrated chassis control system with fail safety using optimum yaw moment distribution for a vehicle with steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire devices. The proposed system has two-level structure: upper- and lower-level controllers. In the upper-level controller, the control yaw moment is computed with sliding mode control theory. In the lower-level controller, the control yaw moment is distributed into the tire forces of active front steering(AFS) and electronic stability control(ESC) with the weighted pseudo-inverse based control allocation(WPCA) method. By setting the variable weights in WPCA, it is possible to take the sensor/actuator failure into account. In this framework, it is necessary to optimize the variables weights in order to enhance the yaw moment distribution. For this purpose, simulation-based tuning is proposed. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations are conducted on a vehicle simulation package, CarSim.
