Optimal nonlinear Parameter Estimation of Steady-State Induction Motor using Immune Algorithm

  • This paper suggests the techniques in determining the values of the steady-state equivalent circuit parameters of a three-phase squirrel-cage induction machine using immune algorithm. The parameter estimation procedure is based on the steady state phase current versus slip and input power versus slip characteristics. The proposed estimation algorithm is of a nonlinear kind based on clonal selection in immune algorithm. The machine parameters are obtained as the solution of a minimization of least-squares cost function by immune algorithm. Simulation shows better results than the conventional approaches.

$OakDSPCore^{\circledR}$를 이용한 EVRC 음성코덱의 실시간 구현 (Real-time implementation of the EVRC Codec using $OakDSPCore^{\circledR}$)

  • 본 논문에서는 EVRC 음성 부호화 시스템을 $OakDSPCore^{\circledR}$를 기반으로 설계된 C&S Technology사의 CSD17C00 칩을 이용하여 전 과정을 어셈블리어로 실시간 구현하였다. 구현된 EVRC 음성 부호화기는 최대의 계산량을 요구하는 8kbps일때 잡음제거 알고리즘을 제외한 인코더부분이 평균 22.5MIPS 이며, 디코더부분은 약 3.35MIPS의 복잡도를 나타낸다. 사용된 메모리양은 프로그램 ROM 10.8K words 데이터 ROM(table) 6.72K words 및 RAM 2.94K words이다. 구현된 EVRC 음성 부호화기는 북미 표준화 기구인 TIA(Telecommunications Industry Association)에서 제공하는 19 개의 test 백터들을 모두 통과하였다.

Modelling and experimental investigations on stepped beam with cavity for energy harvesting

  • This paper presents techniques to harvest higher voltage from piezoelectric cantilever energy harvester by structural alteration. Three different energy harvesting structures are considered namely, stepped cantilever beam, stepped cantilever beam with rectangular and trapezoidal cavity. The analytical model of three energy harvesting structures are developed using Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The thickness, position of the rectangular cavity and the taper angle of the trapezoidal cavity is found to shift the neutral axis away from the surface of the piezoelectric element which in turn increases the generated voltage. The performance of the energy harvesters is evaluated experimentally and is compared with regular piezoelectric cantilever energy harvester. The analytical and experimental investigations reveal that, the proposed energy harvesting structures generate higher output voltage as compared to the regular piezoelectric cantilever energy harvesting structure. This work suggests that through simple structural modifications higher energy can be harvested from the widely reported piezoelectric cantilever energy harvester.

  • PMSM 구동을 하였을 때, 인버터의 지령전압과 출력전압 사이에 왜곡이 발생하며, 대부분 Dead Time에 의한 영향 이다. 전압왜곡을 보상하는 여러 가지 방법 들이 연구되어왔다. 하지만 전압 왜곡의 보상이 abc 축 또는 dq축에서 이루어지고 있으나 어느 방식이 더 좋은지에 대한 검토가 없었다. 본 논문에서는 d-q축 전압방정식과 abc축 전압방정식으로부터 왜곡된 전압을 보상하는 방법을 비교한다.

  • Support Vector Machines (SVMs) is applied to a practical problem as one of standard tools for machine learning. The application of Reinforcement Learning (RL) and SVMs in action of mobile robot is investigated. A technique to decide the action of autonomous mobile robot in practice is explained in the paper, The proposed method is to find n basis for good action of the system under unknown environment. In multi-dimensional sensor input, the most reasonable action can be automatically decided in each state by RL. Using SVMs, not only optimal decision policy but also generalized state in unknown environment is obtained.

기구조작후 치근표면의 조도에 관한 연구; 주사전자현미경적 in vivo 및 in vitro 연구 (Root surface roughness following mechanical instrumentation in vivo and in vitro SEM study)

  • Adequate root preparation in the treatment of periodontal disease often involves mechanical instrumentation to remove plaque, calculus perhaps contaminated cementum. Although meticulous scaling and root planing may remove some cementum, the use of aggressive root planing to remove cementum does not appear warranted. So ultrasonic device and rotary instrument appear to be replacing hand instrument. But it is not clear those instruments make smooth root surface as hand instrument. The roghness of the root surface were evaluate with SEM following instrumentation with Gracey curette, Perio Clean and piezo ultrasonic device(Setlec) with various tip. 20 extracted teeth were used in vitro experiment, and 9 teeth of a patient destined for extraction for periodontal reasons were utilized in vivo experiment. It was demonstrated that hand curette created the smoothest surface, while diamond tip tended to roughen the root surface. But the hand curette, Perio Clean, and piezo ultasonic device with scaler tip tend to remove cementum completely. Piezo ultrasonic device with curette-like tip made the desirable smooth surface with partial removal of cementum.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown on conical tip substrates by using various methods such as electrophoretic deposition, dip-coating, and spray. The scanning electron microscope measurement showed that the spray method ascertained the most uniform deposition of CNTs. The CNT-emitter that was fabricated by the spray method revealed the lowest turn on voltage of electron emission and the highest emission current. In addition, the spray-produced CNT emitter showed the most stable long-term emission characteristics.

  • Tip-type carbon nanotube(CNT) based electron emitters were fabricated by forming a hafnium(Hf) interlayer between the CNT and the substrate. The CNTs were deposited by using the electrophoretic deposition method and thermally treated. No significant change in the microscopic structure of the CNTs, such as the ratio of length to diameter, was observed after the deposition of Hf interlayer and thermal treatment. As compared with the CNT emitter without the Hf-interlayer and thermal treatment, the CNT emitter with the Hf-interlayer and thermal treatment showed noticeably improved electron-emission properties due to the enhanced adhesion.

  • Effects of thermal annealing on electrical characteristics of thin film transistors (TFTs) using hydrogenated zinc oxide (ZnO:H) films as active channel were extensively investigated. The ZnO:H films were deposited at room temperature by RF sputtering. The device parameters of the ZnO:H-based TFTs, such as threshold voltage ($V_{th}$), subthreshold swing (S.S.), and on-off current ratio ($I_{on}/I_{off}$), were characterized in terms of the annealing temperature as well as the gas flow ratio of $H_2$/Ar.

  • The robust design of controllers to ensure gain and phase margin is can be use approximation of arctan function. In this paper, We proposed a tuning algorithm PID controllers based on specified gain and phase margin by a new approximation of arctan function. This method have linear interpolation equations of two arctan interval instead of one arctan interval of arctan(x). It is shown that the frequency response of this method was to ensure specified gain and phase margin.
