UNDERSTANDING OF DISK STRUCTURE DURING THE COLLAPSE OF THE VISCOUS DISK USING SELF-SIMILAR AND NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS (상사해(相似解) 및 수치해를 이용한 점성원반 붕괴시 원반 구조 이해)

  • The problem for the collapse of isothermal and rotational self-gravitational viscous disk is considered. We derive self-similar solutions for the cases in the inner and outer regions of the self-gravitational viscous disk. We show that surface density depends on ${\sigma}_0/r$ in the outer region of the disk using a slow accretion approximation. The ratio of a modified viscous parameter in the outer region of the disk to that in the inner region is 0.042. We resorted to numerical solutions of governing equations of the self-gravitational disk to find out profiles of ${\sigma}$, u and ${\upsilon}$ in terms of x. Their profiles were rapidly changed around the innermost region of the self-gravitational disk. It indicates that a new object was formed in the most inner region of the disk.

An Attitude Control of an Unstructured Object with Gyro Actuator (자이로 구동장치를 이용한 공중 물체의 자세 제어)

  • In this paper, we control attitude of an unstructured object with gyro actuator. It is well known that the attitude control of an object hanging with wire is not easy using usual actuators. Even though an actuator such as a fan can be used for control of the object, it is difficult to meet a desired control objectives. We, because of these reasons, make a gyro actuator with two motors. The first motor is responsible for spinning the wheel at high speed and the second motor is used to turn the inner gimbal. Applying the torque to the second motor, which results in the turn of the outer gimbal, torque about the vertical axis will be obtained while the wheel of the gyro is spinning constantly. This torque is used to control the attitude of the object attached. Gyro actuator utilize control unstructured object such as I-beam carrying by tower crane, and isolate construction workers from the dangerous environments. We derive a relationship of wheel and its motor, find a proper capacity of wheel motor in order to rotate a wheel. Through experiments of attitude control, we show to obtain desired control objectives.

  • In recent years, the semiconductor industry and the optical industry are developed rapidly. The recent demands have expanded for optical components such as the optical lens, the optical semiconductor and the measuring instrument. Object transport systems are driven typically by the magnetic field and the conveyer belt. Recent industry requires more faster and efficient transport system. However, conventional transport systems are not adequate for transportation of optical elements and semiconductors. The conveyor belts can damage precision optical elements by the contact force and magnetic systems can destroy the inner structure of semiconductor by the magnetic field. In this paper, the levitation transport system using ultrasonic wave is developed for transporting precision elements without damages. The steady state flexural vibration of the beam is expressed using Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The transport direction of an object is examined according to phase difference and frequency. The theoretical results are verified by experiments.

Real time Background Estimation and Object Tracking (실시간 배경갱신 및 이를 이용한 객체추적)

  • Object tracking in a real time environment is one of challenging subjects in computer vision area during past couple of years. This paper proposes a method of object detection and tracking using adaptive background estimation in real time environment. To obtain a stable and adaptive background, we combine 3-frame differential method and running average single gaussian background model. Using this background model, we can successfully detect moving objects while minimizing false moving objects caused by noise. In the tracking phase, we propose a matching criteria where the weight of position and inner brightness distribution can be controlled by the size of objects. Also, we adopt a Kalman Filter to overcome the occlusion of tracked objects. By experiments, we can successfully detect and track objects in real time environment.

  • Three dimensional shape measurement techniques are widely needed in industries for product quality monitoring and control. X-ray imaging method is a promising technology to achieve three-dimensional Information, both the surface and inner structure of an object, since it can overcome the limitations of conventional visual or optical methods such as an occlusion problem or surface reflection properties. In this paper, we propose three dimensional volume reconstruction method based on x-ray stereo imaging technology. Here, the stereo images of an object from two different views are taken by changing the object pose rather than moving imaging plane as in conventional stereo vision method.   • We present preliminary results of the photometric variability analysis in SDSS r, i and z bands for a newly confirmed FU Orionis-type object, HBC 722. We observed HBC 722 from 2011 April to 2012 November, with Camera for Quasars in Early uNiverse (CQUEAN) attached to the 2.1m Otto Struve telescope at McDonald Observatory, USA. The rapid cadence monitoring observations (minute timescale) were conducted in chosen photometric nights during observation campaigns to get adequate number of samples for short term period analysis. As this object is in active state, temperature at the inner disk/stellar surface can be characterized by the colors between r, i and z bands. Also, It is theorized that a sudden cataclysmic accretion associated with FU Orionis-type outburst can give rise to detectable "hot spots" on the central star and rotational asymmetries in the disk instability region. Thus the periodic variabilities of three bands would trace the stellar rotation or Keplerian rotation at the instability region of the inner accretion disk. Additionally, the range of instabilities could be estimated on the assumption of a temperature distribution for the HBC 722 disk. This analysis can provide a clue for understanding enhanced disk accretion of Class II young stellar object.

Component-Z: A Formal Specification Language Extended Object-Z for Designing Components (Component-Z: Object-Z를 확장한 컴포넌트 정형 명세 언어)

  • Component-based software engineering (CBSE) composes reusable components and develops applications with the components. CBSE is admitted to be a new paradigm that reduces the costs and times to develop software systems. The high quality of component designs can be assured if the consistency and correctness among the elements of a component are verified with formal specifications. Current formal languages for components include only some parts of contracts between interfaces, structural aspects and behavioral aspects of component, component-based system, component composition and variability. Therefore, it is not adequate to use current formal languages in all steps of a component design process. In this paper, we suggest a formal language to specify component designs Component-Z. Component-Z extends Object-Z, adds new notations to specify components. It can be possible to specify interfaces, the inner structure of a component, inner workflows, and workflows among interfaces with Component-Z. In addition, Component-Z provides the notations and semantics to specify variability with variation points, variants and required interfaces. The relation between interfaces and components is defined with mapping schemas. Parallel operator is used to specify component composition. It can be possible to describe deployed components with the specifications of component-based systems. Therefore, the formal specification language proposed in this paper can represent all elements to design components. In the case study, we specify an account management system in a bank so that we show that Component-Z can be used in all steps of component design.

Image Segmentation Algorithm Based on Geometric Information of Circular Shape Object (원형객체의 기하학적 정보를 이용한 영상분할 알고리즘)

  • The result of Image segmentation, an indispensable process in image processing, significantly affects the analysis of an image. Despite the significance of image segmentation, it produces some problems when the variation of pixel values is large, or the boundary between background and an object is not clear. Also, these problems occur frequently when many objects in an image are placed very close by. In this paper, when the shape of objects in an image is circular, we proposed an algorithm which segment an each object in an image using the geometric characteristic of circular shape. The proposed algorithm is composed of 4 steps. First is the boundary edge extraction of whole object. Second step is to find the candidate points for further segmentation using the boundary edge in the first step. Calculating the representative circles using the candidate points is the third step. Final step is to draw the line connecting the overlapped points produced by the several erosions and dilations of the representative circles. To verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, the algorithm is compared with the three well-known cell segmentation algorithms. Comparison is conducted by the number of segmented region and the correctness of the inner segment line. As the result, the proposed algorithm is better than the well-known algorithms in both the number of segmented region and the correctness of the inner segment line by 16.7% and 21.8%, respectively.

Active Contour Model for Boundary Detection of Multiple Objects (복수 객체의 윤곽 검출 방법에 대한 능동윤곽모델)

  • Most of previous algorithms of object boundary extraction have been studied for extracting the boundary of single object. However, multiple objects are much common in the real image. The proposed algorithm of extracting the boundary of each of multiple objects has two steps. In the first step, we propose the fast method using the outer and inner products; the initial contour including multiple objects is split and connected and each of new contours includes only one object. In the second step, an improved active contour model is studied to extract the boundary of each object included each of contours. Experimental results with various test images have shown that our algorithm produces much better results than the previous algorithms.

  • This paper introduces the basic concepts and requirements of database system based on the object-oriented paradigm,and presents the overview of the design of an object-oriented data base system which refects those conceprs and requirements . The system imolemented on C++,consists of three structure layers.The inner layer, which is in fact a storage system,performs file I/O,while the inermediate layer is responisible for most of the functions except the ones rerated to the user interface, such as the transaction management,the schema manage-ment,and the management of buffers in main memory etc.The outer layer,designed mainly for the uwerunteface,mot only privides the functions for graphical user interface,preprocessor,and interpreter etc,but also supports extended SQL for object-oriented features.
