  • Squid ink was added to the low salt fermented squid by 4% of concentration and ripened at $10^{\circ}C$ for 6 weeks and at $20^{\circ}C$ for 28 days. The effect of the squid ink on the titrable acidity and free amino acids of low salt fermented squid were investigated. The results are as follows; The titrable acidity in the salt fermented squid without addition of the squid ink was continuously decreased except for the salt fermented squid with 9% salt content till the latter stage of the ripening, had larger decreasing range than treatment groups. Seeing the composition of free amino acid, the major amino acids are proline, arginine, glutamic acid. leucine and glycine.

  • Oriental painting paper (Hwaseonji) was prepared from various kinds of plant fibers and its physical properties were investigated. The fibers used were classified into three different length of fibers; long fiber (<1.8 mm), medium fiber (1.4-1.8 mm) and short fiber (>1.4 mm). The fibers were mixed in the ratio of 15% long fiber, 25% medium fiber and 60% short fiber. The Hwaseonji prepared from mixing of the bamboo or rice straw pulp as a short fiber with the long and medium fibers showed excellent physical properties with a high smoothness and uniformity of Chinese ink blot. Mixing with LBKP as a short fiber was resulted in low physical properties, smoothness and wide ink blot. The properties of Hwaseonji, such as ink absorption, roughness and smoothness, may be predicted from the correlation of density with Chinese ink blot and smoothness.

  • This paper was analyzed the characteristics of piezoelectric inkjet print head using finite element method(FEM). It showed the bending node driving of piezoelectric and relation theory principle consider piezoelectric material characteristics and ink characteristics. From such result we were had the piezoelectric head design and manufacture. It got a this head characteristics through experiment, we confirmed that proper voltage control is possible to through ink drop control experiment of piezoelectric print head. This paper was obtained the suitable ink jetting characteristics that manufacture the control circuit and piezoelectric inkjet print head. This practice product was applied to improvement of PCB electric circuit pattern by etching resist ink that PCB manufactured to complex process over traditional 6 stages can be simpled to 1 stage by inkjet printing technology.

  • We report a switchable RGB color filters for Lab on a chip. Ink color filter devices are fabricated by PDMS patterning process. The optical transmission in the ultra-violet and visible wavelengths of color filters have been investigated. The ink color filters are characterised by the slope and shape of the spectrum. The transmission of red/yellow filter consists of curves with a sharp cut-off spectrum at 600 and 500 nm. The blue output of the ink filter has 80% peak transmission and weak red-leak, while the green ink filter has 48% peak transmission and red-leak.

  • The rheological characteristics of an ink relate to its performance on the press and to the printing quality such as ink stability, transfer characteristics, mottle, squash, misting, dot gain, and so on. For lithographic print, the emulsification of ink is an important factor to determine the product. And also the rheological characteristics of the emulsified ink should be investigated. Thus, in this study, the effects of the changing molecular weight of rosin modified phenolic resin on the water-pickup ratio of neat inks were studied. And then rheological properties of neat inks and emulsified inks with changing molecular weight of rosin modified phenolic resin were analyzed by using rotational rheometer.

  • Proofing is one of the inspection operations of printing and can be considered a process control step. The three main kinds of proofs are press proofs, photomechanical proofs, and digital proofs. Photomechanical and digital proofs are also generally refered to as "off-press" proofs. Off-press color proofs are more economical than press proofs. Digital proofs offer fast production time along with a much lower cost per page. Hard-copy digital proofs can be output using thermal transfer printers, ink jet printers, and color laser copiers, as well as dye sublimation and electrophotographic technology. Ink jet method is commonly using because of the reasonal price. But ink jet system is difficult to reproduce an exact color proof. This research was carried out for the purpose of optimization of ink jet color proofing, using two kinds of ink jet printers with 6 colors (C, M, Y, K, mC, mM) and 4 colors (C, M, Y, K) system.

  • The reality of domestic prints neither possesses an objective standard of standard density nor a spectrophotometric method in regard to process ink. As a result, it creates a difficult communication between a designer and a Prepresser as to estimating the color of reproduction prints. There was an experiment on paper, ink, and printing company to obtain the standard point. The result shows that paper has minimum effect on color reproduction as opposed to ink and different printing companies, which had a great effect. The purpose of this paper is to confirm how different the color reproduction properties of prints are using densitometer and spectrophotometer for three different ink companies. The process color inks of three different companies were used under the same printing environment in this experiment.

  • In off-set printing or coating process, it transfers ink on plate by rolling system. As Ink flows between rolls have an influence on printability of the final products, it needs to be studied scientifically and then control its values. Ink flows between rolls are processed under the effect of diversity factors such as rhelogical properties, printing speed, temperature, humidity etc. Therefore, this study try to approach the real ink transfer mechanism to be concerned about all sorts of variables.

  • In gravure printing, the amount of ink from cells has a great effect on the qualities of final printed products. And printability of final products is determined by every kinds variables. Ink transfer process is not verified scientifically because gravure cell is of small size and print speed is rapid. Therefore in order to study of ink transfer mechanism, this study is using the Computational Fluid Dynamics Evaluation. Polyflow 3-10 simulation software is used for considering of non-Newtonian flow. Among the various factors, this study have dealt with gravure cell types used computer simulation in order to define distinctive features in ink flow and transfer. The results of simulation, it defined the distribution of pressure, speed, stream function, viscosity, shear rate during the gravure printing. It is fined out the difficulties and characteristics according to the shape of cell types. Through this study, the condition of gravure printing is depending on the print condition and characteristic of cells.

  • We introduce an understanding of silver (Ag) inkjet overlap-printing characteristics from the viewpoints of cohesion between ink droplets and adhesion between an ink droplet and a surface. The printing characteristics were closely monitored by changing the surface energy to elucidate the effect of adhesion and cohesion on printing instability, such as droplet merging and line bulging. The surface energy of the substrate was changed through the hydrophilization of a hydrophobic fluorocarbon-coated surface. The surface energy and ink wettability of the prepared surfaces were characterized using sessile drop contact angle analysis, and printing instability was observed using an optical microscope after drop-on-demand inkjet printing with a 50% overlap in diameter of deposited singlet patterns. We found that the surface energy is not an appropriate indicator based on the experimental results of Ag ink printing on a hydrofluoric-treated silicon surface. The analytical approach using adhesion and cohesion was helpful in understanding the instability of the inkjet overlap-printing, as adhesion and cohesion represent the direct interfacial relationship between the Ag inks used and the substrate.
