정면충돌 시 고령운전자 상해 특성에 관한 실사고 연구 (Real-world Accident Study on Injury Characteristics of Elderly Driver in Car-to-Car Frontal Crashes)

  • Real-world accident cases were investigated to understand injury characteristics of the elderly driver. A total 10 cases of car-to-car frontal crash accidents from passenger car including SUV claimed to domestic car insurance company were reviewed. The injury characteristics of the elderly were analyzed from personal information (gender, age), medical treatment record (medical certificate, curative days), vehicle information (model, air-bag, seatbelt) and damage information. This study showed that elderly driver has higher possibility of thorax injury than non-elderly's. Moreover, Injury type and severity were more severe than non-elderly driver at similar type accident conditions. Also, elderly driver's medical treatment period needs 3 times more than non-elderly driver's.

  • 본 연구는 광주지역 권역응급의료센터에 내원한 환자의 의료정보를 기초로 외상의 중등도별 특성 분석을 통한 손상발생의 위험요소를 파악하여 손상예방대책을 위한 보건예방정책 제언 및 기초 자료를 마련하는데 목적이 있다. 2019년 9월 1일부터12월 31일까지 4개월간 응급의료센터에 내원한 2585명의 환자를 대상으로 손상외인 관련성을 연구의 통계학적 분석을 위하여 SPSS-Window(ver. 20.1)프로그램을 이용하였다. 연구 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 응급의료센터에 내원한 손상 환자 중 전체 2585명 환자에서 성별은 남성(61.3%)이 여성(38.7%)보다 더 많았으며, 20대에서 50대까지의 연령층에서 발생률이 높았으며 중증도를 감안하면 50대(16.8%)의 연령층이 가장 많았다(P<.001). 둘째, 중등도에 따른 손상외인의 발생장소로는 도로 및 교통지역(35.1%)이 가장 높았다(P<.001). 셋째, 중등도에 따른 손상발생의 시간은 12-18시(35.8%)로 높았다(P<.001). 넷째, 중등도에 따른 손상부위는 두부 및 안면부(55.4%)에서 가장 높았다(P<.001). 다섯째, 중등도에 따른 손상 유형은 열린상처(31.2%)에서 높았다(P<.001). 향후 손상에 대한 지속적인 관심과 연구로 외상환자 등 중증도별 특성에 따라 구체적인 보건예방정책 수립이 요구된다.

  • Injury has now replaced disease as the biggest single cause of death in children after their first birthday. Each month one child dies from preventable, unintentional injury and the medical cost of these injury is increasing remarkably. It is necessary to develop injury prevention system to manage, evaluate and analysis the information about accident. This resource manual developed as a result of literature review of child care safety project which is based on the Kidsafe Tasmanian Division in Australia and the other resources. The purposes of this study is to; 1. Develop model to enable services to focus on injury prevention 2. Develop standardized child care injury report form 3. Develop home safety checklist 4. Development of injury prevention policies The suggestions to develop injury prevention policies : 1. detail analysis of injury occurrence 2. investigation of known intervention and their effectiveness 3. analysis of policy environment 4. development of policy on implementation of intervention 5. develop protocol and materials to develop an injury prevention focus 6. increase knowledge and awareness among staff and parents of where injuries were occurring and develop.

우리나라 자전거 손상 환자의 역학적 특징: 전국 55개 병원 응급실 환자를 대상으로 (The Epidemiology of Bicycle Injury in Korea: Patients Who Visited 55 Emergency Rooms)

  • Purpose: Bicycle riding is a healthy and cheap form of transportation and a popular form of recreation. This study aims to evaluate the epidemiology and the factors affecting the severity of bicycle-related injuries and to find effective methods for preventing injuries. Methods: This is a retrospective study of the patients'characteristics, the injury severity, the injury location, the effect of safety equipment on the bicycle injury based on information collected through the NEDIS (National Emergency Department Information System) from 1,284,429 patients who visited 55 emergency rooms nationwide. Results: During the research period throughout 55 emergency rooms 5,671 patients were seen because of bicycle injuries. The male-to-female ratio was 3.1:1, the median age 28 years old, and 42.6% of the patients were younger than 20 years old. Injury sites were mostly in the extremities(46.7%), the head(32.4%), and the face(14%), and 70.3% of severely injured patients had accompanying head trauma. Males aged 65 and older was possibly associated with severe head trauma. Of the patients who provided helmet information 4.8%(71patients) used helmets, and 95.2%(1392 patients) did not. In this group of patients providing helmet information, none of those wearing helmets died, but 0.4% of those not wearing helmets died. Conclusion: In this study, most bicycle injuries occurred in young adult men. From now, there seems to be a need for more effort on publicity activities on bicycle injuries and on the education of children and teenagers, who show a high incidence rate, and of senior citizens (over 65 years old) who show a high severity rate, about using a safety helmet to reduce the severity of injury.

노인의 사고예방 실천정도와 그 영향요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Influencing Injury Prevention Practices of the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship among injury prevention practices, health locus of control, and response patterns to HLOC of the elderly. Subjects were 121 healthy elderly. The data had been collected from November 5 to 18 in 2001 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression. Health locus of control and injury prevention practices were measured by using MHLC scale and an instrument created by the researcher on the basis of the results of literature review respectively. The results of this study were as follows: The mean score of injury prevention practices was 2.80 and the mean scores for the health locus of control were internal health locus of control : 17.25, external health locus of control : 16.09, and chance health locus of control : 14.26. The response patterns of the HLOC identified were six types; pure internal, pure powerful others, pure chance, double external, believers in control, and complex control. The 'pure internal' was the largest group(35.5%), and the 'believers in control' was the next(31.4%). The relationship between internal health locus of control and the injury prevention practices of the elderly revealed a significant correlation(r=.215, p=.018). The relationship between external health locus of control and the injury prevention practices of the elderly revealed a significant correlation (r= .208, p=.022). There was significant difference between response patterns of the health locus of control and injury prevention practices(F=2.393, p=.042). There were significant differences between injury prevention practices and general characteristic factors, which were education, family type, administration of medication, injury experience, ADL, and self-directed search for health information. Self-directed search for health information, injury experience, and education explained 16.7% of the variance for injury prevention practices. The above results may be used as the basic data for seeking more efficient way of improving safety of the elderly.

사례 중심의 손상코드 별 손상외인코드 빈도수 분석에 따른 손상코드 발생 원인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Causes of Injury Codes by Case-Based Injury Code of External Causes Frequency Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서 강원도 강릉시에 위치한 A기관의 2020년, 2021년의 2년간 데이터를 중심으로 손상으로 입원한 환자를 손상 코드별로 분석하고자 하였다. 각 연도별 발생인원이 많은 손상코드를 분석하였으며, 이에 따른 손상외인코드를 분석하였다. 손상외인 코드의 빈도수를 분석하여 손상코드의 발생 원인을 분석하였다. 손상코드 S0650는 손상외인코드 W189, X5999의 빈도수가 가장 많았으며, 이는 상세불명의 장소 또는 화장실에서 넘어졌을 때 열린 두개 내 상처 없는 외상성 경막하 출혈의 원인으로 판단하였다. 손상코드 S72120는 손상외인코드 W010, W180의 빈도수가 가장 많았으며, 주거지에서 넘어질 때 발생하는 폐쇄성 대퇴골전자간 골절의 원인이 되는 것으로 판단하였다. 손상코드 S32090은 X5999의 빈도수가 많았으며, 상세불명의 장소에서 노출에 의한 사고로 요추 부위의 폐쇄성 골절의 원인 되는 것으로 분석 하였으며, 손상코드 S72.090에서 발생되는 손상외인 코드는 W010, W180의 빈도수가 많은 것을 확인하였다. 주로 주거지에서 미끄러지거나 헛디딤으로 인해 대퇴골 경부의 폐쇄성 골절의 원인이 되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었으며, 손상코드 S0220은 Y049의 손상외인코드의 빈도수가 높았으며, 주로 완력 또는 주먹에 의해 비골이 골절되는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같이 손상코드 별 손상외인코드의 빈도수를 분석하여 손상코드의 발생 원인을 분석하였다.

욕창관리 모바일 어플리케이션 구조 설계 및 사용자 인터페이스 구현 (Design of Pressure Injury Management Mobile Application Structure and User Interface)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to design user interfaces of a mobile application for managing pressure injury patients in a long-term care hospital based on the user's needs. Methods: To reflect users' needs in the mobile application, the user interfaces in this study were designed in five steps: brainstorming and mind mapping, persona and scenario, needs list and priority, a draft version of flow chart and user interfaces and expert review. These steps were conducted with a step nurse at a long-term care hospital, a professor who majored in nursing informatics, a professor who had lots of research experiences about pressure injury and a wound ostomy continence nurse. Results: Two personas, scenarios and needs' lists were derived. Listed Needs included the followings; Accurate staging of pressure injury; Appropriate management by staging; Acquisition of professional knowledge about pressure injury; Acquisition of easy pressure injury information through text, picture and video; and Sharing pressure injury information in unit. The structure, menus and features of the pressure injury mobile application were visualized with user flow based on two personas' scenarios and needs' lists. Conclusion: Our study suggests and visualizes the key features of the 'Pressure Injury Guide', a pressure injury management mobile application for nurses in a long-term care hospital, which can be utilized by nurses, application developers, and related researchers.

산재보험 빅데이터를 활용한 산재 모니터링 지리정보시스템 개발 (Development of a Work-Related Injury and Illness Monitoring Geographic Information System using Workers' Compensation Insurance Big Data)

  • Purpose This study aims to develop a work-related injury and illness monitoring geographic information system that analyzes and visualizes the types of work-related injury and illness based on workers' compensation insurance big data. Design/methodology/approach Using the developed system, we explained the process of monitoring the areas of the applied workplace, medical care application, index, and medical care institution. We also showed examples of analyzing the index and medical care institution area. By applying the system, we can intuitively recognize the current status of workers' compensation insurance and confirm the basic information necessary for managing the current status of workers' compensation insurance. Findings We generated more helpful information by combining workers' compensation insurance data and designated medical care institution data. We were able to apply the severity score and the vulnerability index of work-related injury and illness to the system as a demonstration. To efficiently manage workers' compensation insurance, it was necessary to integrate workers' compensation insurance and designated medical care institution data, as well as the data from various sources.

Comparative Evaluation of Machine Learning Models for Predicting Soccer Injury Types

  • Soccer is type of sport that carries a high risk of injury. Injury is not only cause in the unlucky soccer carrier and also team performance as well as financial effects can be worse since soccer is a team-based game. The duration of recovery from a soccer injury typically relies on its type and severity. Therefore, we conduct this research in order to predict the probability of players injury type using machine learning technologies in this paper. Furthermore, we compare different machine learning models to find the best fit model. This paper utilizes various supervised classification machine learning models, including Decision Tree, Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Naive Bayes. Moreover, based on our finding the KNN and Decision models achieved the highest accuracy rates at 70%, surpassing other models. The Random Forest model followed closely with an accuracy score of 62%. Among the evaluated models, the Naive Bayes model demonstrated the lowest accuracy at 56%. We gathered information about 54 professional soccer players who are playing in the top five European leagues based on their career history.   • The purpose of this research conducted has been an the development of a computer program to be used for nursing of spinal cord injury patients. The research is also intended to contribute by supplying the basic data, to the development of other programs in relevant areas where similar nursing information system is required. This research used System Development Life Cycle method. Results from the study were as follows : The scope of Information System in nursing practice were based on a wide range of mateials as charts at four hospitals in Pusan that cover the nursing period of spinal cord injury patients from admission to discharge and other sources of reference, the research is done for nursing diagnosis, nursing history, admission and discharge education, and the performing of doctor's order, which were divided into a subsystem that consisted of help, Patient Management, Performing of Docter's Order, and Basic Data Management and then these was analysed systematically using Hierachy Plus Input Process Output, necessary information, data flow diagram, and conceptual designs were developed for chosem system. Furthemore, the system has been programed by a conceptual design that includes the objects of the program and the origins of the sources. The oder to make sure of the proper function, the computer program was actually applied to a nursing practice that had been developed for a hypothetical situation through the two nurses who were in charge of spinal cord injury patients after they were trained to understand the structure and the contents of computer program about the nursing practice from using the computer program developed. Also, the compensatory strategy has been worked out against any problems to arise. It is expected that this kind of nursing practice information system to be used for the spinal cord injury patients that has been developed through the processes shown above will increase the satisfaction for both patients and nurses by enabling them to give more professional advice and service to the development of more information systems for many hospitals.
