기체주입식 분사기의 이상유동 변화와 분무특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Two-Phase Flow Transition and Atomization Characteristics in Effervescent Injectors)

  • Gas injection is a technique applied to improve throttling in liquid rocket engines and atomization in effervescent injectors. When a gas is injected into a liquid, it creates a two-phase flow inside the injector. The changes (bubbly flow, slug flow, annular flow, etc.) in the two-phase flow affect the injector's spray characteristics. In this study, cold-flow tests were performed by using three injectors with different orifice diameters and four aerators with different gas injection hole diameters. The experiments were done by changing the thrust ratio (liquid mass flow rate ratio) and gas-liquid mass flow rate ratio. Two-phase flow transition, breakup length, and discharge coefficient according to the injector/aerator design and flow conditions were investigated in detail.

  • 충돌형(FOOF) 분사기의 불안정 영역을 결정하기 위해 질소분사 음향시험을 수행하였다. 파이프와 오리피스 형상을 가지는 분사기 내 산화제 부분에서 유동속도에 비례하고, 비정상적으로 jumping하는 특정 주파수를 가지는 whistling이 발생한다. 동일한 조건의 연소시험과 비교해 본 결과 whistling 현상은 연소현상에는 영향을 주지 않는다. 질소분사 음향시험과 연소시험에서 얻은 연소실 내 1T1L mode의 damping factor를 비교하여 불안정 영역을 구해보면, 비슷한 조건에서 불안정 영역을 가진다. 이것은 유동의 충돌, 혼합에 의한 유동불안정 현상이 연소시험에서 연소불안정을 발생시키는 주요한 인자임을 의미 한다.

인젝터 노즐 홀 직경의 변화에 따른 DME 커먼레일 연료 분사 시스템의 분무 특성에 관한 연구 II (An Investigation on the Spray Characteristics of DME with Variation of Nozzle Holes Diameter using the Common Rail Fuel Injection System)

  • DME spray characteristics were investigated about varied ambient pressure and fuel injection pressure using the DME common rail fuel injection system when the nozzle holes diameter is varied. The common rail fuel injection system with DME cooling system was used since DME has properties of compressibility and vaporization in atmospheric temperature. The fuel injection quantity and spray characteristics were measured. The spray analysis parameters were spray shape, penetration length, and spray angle at six nozzle holes. Three types of injector were used, the nozzle holes diameter were 0.166 mm (Injector 1), 0.250 mm (Injector 2), and 0.250 mm with enlargement of orifice hole from 0.6 mm to 1.0 mm (Injector 3). The fuel injection pressure was varied by 5MPa from 35 to 70MPa when the ambient pressure was varied 0, 2.5, and 5MPa. When using Injector 3 in comparison to the others, the DME injection quantity was increased 1.69 ~ 2.02 times. Through this, it had the similar low heat value with diesel which was injected Injector 1. Among three types of injector, Injector 3 had the fastest development velocity of penetration length. In case of spray angle, Injector 2 had the largest spray angle. Through these results, only the way enlargement the nozzle holes diameter is not the solution of DME low heat value problem.

  • Computational investigation was conducted to examine the performance of a high pressure common-rail fuel injection system which is used to power a passenger car direct injection (Dl) diesel engine. The pipe flows were modeled by one dimensional wave equation and solved by implicit FDM Each volume of injector was considered as chambers with orifice nozzle in connections. These simulation results were compared with the experimental data of Ganser Hydromag. The comparison of needle life and rate of injection between simulation data and experimental data showed quite a good agreement Different shape of injection rate can be made by adjusting the size of inlet orifice and exit orifice in the piston chamber The pilot injection was accomplished by adjusting command signal.

인젝터 압력이 단공노즐 감압비등 분무에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Injection Pressure on the Flash Boiling Spray from Simple Orifice Nozzle)

  • Flash boiling occurs in a couple of modern engineering systems and understanding its mechanism is important. In this experimental study, discharge coefficient of flash boiling spray from simple orifice nozzle was measured, and backlight imaging was acquired at injection pressure to 6.0 bar and temperature to 163℃ for the purpose. Pressurized water by pump was used for working fluid and was heated by electric heater and ejected through simple orifice nozzle diameter of 0.5 mm. High speed camera with long distance microscope was used for backlight imaging in two FoV having magnification of 3.3 and 0.64. The decrease of discharge coefficient according to degree of superheating and evolution of flash boiling spray imaged at various pressure and temperature were explained by the pressure field inside the injector.

스월형 가솔린 직분식 인젝터의 분무특성에 대한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Spray Characteristics of the Swirl-Type Gasoline Direct Injector)

  • In this study, the characteristics of high-pressure swirl injector have been studied using a commercial CFD code, STAR-CD and experiment to investigate the effect of the length of orifice and swirl port on the spray characteristics. Influences of swirl port angle and initial conditions have also been examined in terms of penetration depth and Sauter`s mean diameter. Computed results of the spray characteristics are compared with experimental results. The results show that the tangential velocity at the nozzle exit decreases, but the axial velocity increases as swirl port angle is increased. Hence, the static flow rate increases, but the initial spray angle decreases with increasing the swirl port angle. It is also shown that the values of the initial SMD used as input data for spray simulation influences the penetration depth and SMD. The spray pattern from the present numerical simulation agrees well with experimental result.

리세스 길이 및 분사압력 변이에 따른 스월 동축형 인젝터의 분무특성 (Spray Characteristics of Swirl-coaxial Injector According to the Recess Length and Injection Pressure Variation)

  • 본 연구는 이원추진제 추력기의 핵심부품에 대한 성능평가의 일환으로, 기체메탄/액체산소를 추진제로 사용하는 스월 동축형 인젝터의 리세스 길이 및 분사압력에 따른 분무특성 파악을 목표로 하였다. 분무형상은 슐리렌 가시화 기법을 이용하여 획득하였고, 슐리렌장치는 광원, 오목거울, 초고속카메라 등으로 구성된다. 내부 인젝터에 의한 액체 분무의 경우 hollow cone 형상을 확인하였으며, 내부 인젝터 오리피스 길이의 증가와 함께 스월강도 감쇠의 영향으로 분무각은 줄어들었다. 기체-액체를 함께 분사할 때, 분무각은 리세스 길이가 증가함에 따라 외부혼합영역에서 증가하지만, 내부혼합영역에서는 작아졌는데, 액체분무 분사 압력의 높고 낮음에 무관하다는 사실을 확인하였다.

동축형 인젝터의 미립화 특성 (Atomization Characteristics of shear coaxial twin fluid injector)

  • To understand the basic the structure of the spray field and to obtain the initial conditions for computational models for shear coaxial twin-fluid injectors. the atomization characteristics under different flow and geometric conditions were examined. The spray characteristics such as SMD, mean axial and radial velocities, Dia. of droplets and volume flux with a P.D.P.A. Water and nitrogen gas under atmospheric conditions were used as a test fluids. The drops produced by shear coaxial injectors continue to disintegrate along the spray axis and decrease their sizes. SMD was the maximum at the spray center of spray and decreased with increasing radial distance. The results of this parametric study showed that SMD decreased with increasing gas injection velocity as well as with decreasing liquid injection mass flow rate, The relative velocity between gas and liquid flow played a significant role resulted in decreasing SMD and in spreading the spray. Recessing the liquid orifice resulted decreasing SMD and a spreading the spray. Recess of liquid orifice by 5.0mm showed best atomization characteristics in this experiment. Although drop diameter changes, shear coaxial injector sprays had constant velocity and exhibited a high degree of radial symmetry.

  • 상용 전산유체해석 프로그램을 사용하여 오리피스형 분사기에서 수직분사 액체 제트의 다상유동을 해석하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 오리피스형 분사기 분무 특성을 이해하고 연소기 내부 위치에 따른 유동조건와 항력계수와의 관계식을 구하는 것이다. 수치해석 결과 모형 램젯 연소기에서 수직분사 유동해석은 난류점성모델인 Realizable $k-{\varepsilon}$ 모델과 다상유동모델인 DPM 모델이 유효함을 확인하였다. 또한 오리피스형 분사기에서 레이저 흡수법을 사용하여 측정한 실험결과(증기농도분포)는 수치해석 결과와 잘 일치하였다.

  • 350Kw급 이하의 초소형 터보제트엔진에서 연료 미립화 특성을 만족하는 분사시스템을 개발하는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 그러나 회전 연료 분사시스템은 복잡한 고압연료펌프 시스템 없이도 엔진축의 원심력만을 이용함으로써 좋은 미립화를 할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로, 직경 40 mm의 매우 작은 회전식 연료 인젝터를 제작하였으며, 여러 가지 크기의 분사 오리피스에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. PDPA 측정 시스템을 사용하여 입자의 크기와 속도, 분무분포를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 분사 오리피스로부터 분출된 단일 액주의 길이는 회전속도에 의해 제어되며, SMD는 회전수가 증가함에 따라 감소하고, 오리피스의 직경과 오리피스 내부에 생성되는 액막두께에 큰 영향을 받는다.
