This is an attempt to improve a formula to predict variations of geomagnetic storm indices (Dst) from solar wind parameters. A formula which is most widely accepted was given by Burton et al. (1975) over 30 years ago. Their formula is: dDst*/dt = Q(t) - Dst*(t)/$\tau$, where Q(t) is the Dst injection rate given by the convolution of dawn-to-dusk electric field generated by southward solar wind magnetic field and some response function. However, they did not clearly specify the response function. As a result, misunderstanding seems to be prevailing that the injection rate is proportional to the dawn-to-dusk electric field. In this study we tried to determine the response function by examining 12 intense geomagnetic storms with minimum Dst < -200 nT for which solar wind data are available. The method is as follows. First we assume the form of response function that is specified by several time constants, so that we can calculate the injection rate Q1(t) from the solar wind data. On the other hand, Burton et al. expression provide the observed injection rate Q2(t) = dDst*/dt + Dst*(t)/$\tau$. Thus, it is possible to determine the time constants of response function by a least-squares method to minimize the difference between Q1(t) and Q2(t). We have found this simple method successful enough to reproduce the observed Dst variations from the corresponding solar wind data. The present result provides a scheme to predict the development of Dst 30 minutes to 1 hour in advance by using the real time solar wind data from the ACE spacecraft.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors that have an influence on the pain which patients recognize when receiving an intravenous injection. Method: Participants were 111 patients who were admitting to C University Hospital. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 11.0 program. Results: For the participants, factors related to administration of medication were the following: Phlebitis scale, who administers the IV injection, failure to complete the IV injection, explaination of the IV injection and rate of injection. Level of pain, depression and anxiety in the participants was as follows: Pain ($4.86{\pm}2.09$), depression ($35.76{\pm}9.91$), anxiety ($32.34{\pm}8.87$). There were positive correlations between pain and depression (r= .437, p< .000), between pain and anxiety (r= .478, p< .000), and between depression and anxiety (r= .544, p< .000). Conclusion: Such findings provide new insights into the dynamic relationships between depression, anxiety and pain which patients recognize when having an intravenous injection. Further studies should be conducted to establish the causal relation between depression, anxiety and pain and to determine appropriate nursing interventions.

This study presents a mathematical model and a sliding mode observer of the injection system for common rail diesel engines. The injector model consists of three subsystems: the actuator subsystem, the mechanical subsystem, and the hydraulic subsystem. In the actuator subsystem, the constitutive relations of piezoelectricity are used to model the actuator made up of piezoelectric material. Based on the proposed model, the observer estimates the injection rate and injection timing, and can play a vital role of sensorless control of fuel injection in the near future. The sliding mode theory is applied to the observer design in order to overcome model uncertainties. The injector model and observer are evaluated through the injector experiments. The simulation results of the injector model are in good agreement with the experimental data. The sliding mode observer can effectively estimate the injection timing and the injection rate of the injector.

A numerical study has been carried out to analyze the combustion characteristics in heavy duty diesel engine with post injection for reducing NO emission. For verification of numerical study results, calculated cylinder pressure was matched to experimental data. In this study, post injection timing and amount of post injection were modified as parameters, but the total amount of injection fuel was maintained. As the results, maximum cylinder pressure increases above minimum 2% by post injection and end of pressure curve is decreased rapidly. The more dwell time and amount of post injection fuel are, the more pressure drop occurs. And trade-off relation of NO and soot are appeared. In the results, NO was reduced without deterioration of cylinder pressure under condition of $10^{\circ}$ CA dwell time and main 60%, post 40% fuel portion.

In this paper, heat transfer changes due to the shock/boundary layer interaction were investigated on surfaces where secondary jet are injected. With an infra-red thermography, surface temperature was measured and the measured data was used to obtain the convective heat transfer. Heat transfer is enhanced with increment of momentum ratio. And normal injection case has a higher heat transfer value than that of 15 degrees inclined injection case. Secondary injection momentum ratio and injection angle affect the surface heat transfer distribution.
Objectives : This study was to investigate the effects of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture and Bovis calculus Fel Ursi Pharmacopuncture on autonomic nervous system with Heart Rate Variability(HRV). Purpose of the trial was to observe what influence Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture and Bovis calculus Fel Ursi pharmacopuncture have on the autonomic nervous system. Methods : 40 healthy male volunteers were divided into two experimental groups, such as Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture group and Bovis calculus Fel Ursi Pharmacopuncture group. Study design was a randomized, double-blind clinical trial. 20 subjects in one experimental group were injected Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture, 20 subjects in other experimental group were injected hydrolyzed Bovis calculus Fel Ursi Pharmacopuncture at GB21(Kyonjong). We measured HRV 7 times : baseline measurement and every 5 minutes for 30 minutes after injection. The SPSS 15.0 for Windows was used to analyze the data by the paired t-test(in group) and independent sample t-test(between the groups). Results A. Time Domain Analysis 1. Analysis of Mean HRV, SDNN and Complexity After injection of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture, Mean HRV was significantly decreased all the times after injection. SDNN was significantly increased at immediate and 25 minute after injection. Complexity was significantly decreased only at 15 minute after injection. After injection of Bovis calculus Fel Ursi Pharmacopuncture, Mean HRV was significantly decreased all the times after injection. Complexity was significantly decreased at 15 minutes after injection. 2. Analysis of HRV index, pNN50 After injection of Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu Pharmacopuncture, HRV index was significantly increased immediately after injection. pNN50 was significantly decreased at immediately, 20 and 25 minutes after injection. Background: We prospectively compared the response to blind and ultrasound-guided glenohumeral injection of corticosteroids for treatment of shoulder stiffness. Methods: A total of 77 patients with shoulder stiffness between April 2008 and March 2012 were recruited. Patients were randomized to receive either a blind (group 1, n=39) or ultrasound-guided (group 2, n=38) glenohumeral injection of 40 mg triamcinolone. The clinical outcomes and shoulder range of motion (ROM) before injection, at 3, 6, and 12 months after injection and at the last follow-up were assessed. The same rehabilitation program was applied in both groups during the follow-up period. Results: There was no significant difference in demographic data on age, sex, ROM, and symptom duration before injection between groups (p>0.05). There were no significant differences in ROM including forward flexion, external rotation at the side, external rotation at $90^{\circ}$ abduction, and internal rotation, visual analogue scale for pain and functional outcomes including American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score, Simple Shoulder test between the two groups at any time point (p>0.05). Conclusions: Based on the current data, the result of ultrasound-guided glenohumeral injection was not superior to that of blind injection in the treatment of shoulder stiffness. We suggest that ultrasound-guided glenohumeral injection could be performed according to the patient's compliance and the surgeon's preference. Once familiar with the non-imaging-guided glenohumeral injection, it is an efficient and reliable method for the experienced surgeon. Ultrasound could be performed according to the surgeon's preference.

In injection molding industries, CAE analyses are generally used to find out problems predicted during the process of manufacturing. The results of CAE analyses consist of much in formation such as meshes and stress, so that the size of data is pretty large. To reduce the size of the data and to make it easy to share, the CAE result to JT translator is proposed in this paper. The translator consists of three modules to translate CAE result to JT format; Extracting module gets ASCII data of product shape and the result values of CAE analysis. Sorting module and mapping module make an element data set and JT file with the data extracted from Extracting module respectively. To the JT files, engineers are able to append product properties and their comments, so that they can share the whole history of the analysis process. In addition, our case study shows that the size of JT format is reduced by almost 90% of its original data format.

In the data from synthetic resin makers, there is no shrinkage deviation through injection molding. But, after making the required products, even in the same conditions, there are some size-deviation in colors. Into our research, we checked main factor by the injection molding conditions. Our tests have shown this results, there are some shrinkage deviation in collors and, in the injection molding conditions, packing pressure is the main factor.
