  • As the Internet becomes a part of the infrastructure of the world, so will the process of creating useful digital libraries become an important part of our society. Previous generations of Internet were focused mainly on the technology. Today the focus has shifted to searching information usefully over the intelligent Digital Library. However the tension between new technologies and daily information needs was never resolved but was significantly noted by many researches. Recent findings show us to gain some feeling for the balancing act in information systems between technological and sociological factors. They shows that consideration in sociology is needed for the sound deployment after installation of digital library systems. This study focused on the importance of effects of non-technical factors for the new DL service period. Experiences and documents in the first generation DL period were scrutinized and analysed systematically. As a result, we find new idea, socio-technical approaches to the new DL services.

  • This paper analyses meta-data systems for serials in order to provide the fundamental infrastructure for serials-sharing systems based on semantic interoperability. According to the primitive features of serials information, meta-data for serials are classified into 3 main subsystems: serial identification Information, serial bibliographic information and serial holding information. The serial identification information that play the important role of the primary key in library management systems should be refined to accommodate serials with digital formats. Although MARC formats have been commonly used for the description of serial bibliographic information, a new meta-data format for serial bibliographic information that harmonize with the abundance of meta-data elements in MARC and the simplicity of DCMI. For serial holding information, the newly proposed standards such as ANSI/NSIO Z39.50 are adequate to grasp the varieties of serial holding patterns. It should be able to differentiate the level of description by means of the types of serial information services. As the current computing technology generally uses XML for the representation and Process of information, the meta-data system for serials should be based on XML.

  • Development of infrastructure component libraries is a critical requirement for the accelerated adoption of BIM in the civil engineering sector. Libraries reduce the time for BIM model creation, allows accurate quantity take offs, and shared use of standard models in a project. However, such libraries are currently in very short supply in the domestic infrastructure domain. This research introduces library components for retaining walls and box culverts generated from 2D standard drawings made publicly available by MOLIT. Commercial BIM software was used to create the concrete geometry and rebar, and dimensional/volumetric parameters were defined to maximize the reuse and generality of the libraries. Use of the these libraries in a project context demonstrates that they allow accurate and quick quantity take offs, and easier management of geometric information through the use of a single library as to numerous 2D drawings. It also demonstrates the easy modification of the geometries of the components if and when they need to changed. However, the application also showed that some of the rebar components (stirrups and length wise rebars) do not get properly updated when concrete geometries are changed, demonstrating the limits of current software applications. The research provides evidence of the many advantages of using BIM libraries in the civil engineering, thus providing the incentive for further development of standard libraries and promoting the use of BIM in infrastructure projects.

  • This research aims to find an optimal space program and analysis of optimal land of the national model of the scientific and technical information center. And the objective of this study is to contribute to strengthen the need of the building of information center and provide operation programs and vision toward information center which will be established later. We suggested a basic plan of scale and space program for proper space uses and optimal facilities and state-ofthe-art equipment of building. Also, we selected alternative land by document study, and suggested optimal land by field works and studies.

  • The data-driven research environment is rapidly changing. Accordingly, domestic university libraries are also preparing to establish and operate research data management services to support university researchers. This study was designed to propose a research data management service to support researchers in science and technology specialized university libraries. In order to propose the service, 11 universities specializing in science and technology were selected from overseas and domestic universities and their research data management services were analyzed. Key categories were derived from analysis results, research data management, electronic research notebooks, and RDM training. In particular, the 'research data management' category included DMP, data collection, data management, data preservation, data sharing and publishing, data reuse, infrastructure and tools. And it consists of RDM guides and policies. The results of this study will be helpful in introducing and operating research data management services in science and technology specialized university libraries.

  • Computational Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that provides architecture, engineering, and construction professionals the insight to plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently. This paper aims at using BIM in Hospitals configurations protection. Infrastructure projects are classified as huge structural projects taking advantage of many resources such as finance, materials, human labor, facilities and time. Immense expenses in infrastructure programs should be allocated to estimating the expected results of these arrangements in domestic economy. Hence, the significance of feasibility studies is inevitable in project construction, in this way the necessity in promoting the strategies and using global contemporary technologies in the process of construction maintenance cannot be neglected. This paper aims at using the building information modeling in covering Imam Khomeini Hospital's equipment. First, the relationship between hospital constructions maintenance and repairing, using the building information modeling, is demonstrated. Then, using library studies, the effective factors of constructions' repairing and maintenance were collected. Finally, the possibilities of adding these factors in Revit software, as one of the most applicable software within BIM is investigated and have been identified in some items, where either this software can enter or the software for supporting the repairing and maintenance phase lacks them. The results clearly indicated that the required graphical factors in construction information modeling can be identified and applied successfully.

  • This paper proposes various measures of reliability, maintainability and availability in information technology service management(ISTM). Global ITSM standards such as ITIL(IT Infrastructure Library) and ISO/IEC 20000 are introduced. Especially availability management of De-facto and De-juire standards is concerned with users and customers of IT service. The study presents seven reliability measures, six maintainability measures and two availability measures. These results can be effectively used with a appropriate IT availability management tools such as CFIA(Component Failure Impact Analysis) and SOA(Service Outage Analysis), etc.
