To overcome the limit of a point-point connection type service which is common to the ISDN bearer services, a new concept of network element, Service Node, which can provide multiparty connections and control the teleservices on those connections is proposed. This will support conference type multiparty multimedia services among normal ISDN subscribers. In this paper, as a primary study on this concept, we deduce some attributes of the general conference type services and examine the methods and procedures to provide that kind of services through the ISDN. Based on this study, we also define the general requirements and basic structure for the Service Node realization, thus give shape to the concept of it.

Agricultural extension services in Korea are faced with increasing demands for more efficient production and managerial technology according to globalization and free trade system. At the same time, three steps of organizational restructuring in 1998 and 1999 resulted in decreased number of organization and manpower, thus, resulting confusion in implementing extension services. To cope with the international and national challenges, Korean agricultural extension services should try paradigm shift including the followings; 1. To establish identity of agricultural extension services in Korea through making laws and regulations in terms of concept, roles, principles. implementation and methods. 2. To implement vitalizations plan through enhancement of national extension service such as food production. raising local specialty products for domestic consumption and producing strategic agricultural products for export. expanding capability of rural women, increasing opportunity for management consultation, supporting digital technology information, and promoting morale and capability of extension educators. 3. To reform agricultural extension system through adjusting the functions of extension service of the Rural Development Administration, regionalizing city and county extension center to provincial level, and changing the status of directors of extension centers from city /county to national government.

In this paper, we propose a framework (named Multimedia Service Framework) that provides the development and operation of different kind of multimedia applications. This framework defines the architectures and its functionalities for supporting multimedia services, in 3 layers of: Application, Distributed Support System and Network. Firstly, we analyzed general characteristics of multimedia applications, and defined a set of horizontal and vertical services in the Application Architecture. Also, we determined functionalities and services required to support all application services in the Distributed Support System Architecture which must provide functions for the distribution transparencies, resource sharing, interoperability and portabiliy. Finally, in the Network Architecture we proposed the network infrastructure and services to increase the efficiency in resource management and processing capacity of network components such as router and switch, adopting the active networking approach.

Shigella spp. constitutes some of the key pathogens responsible for the global burden of diarrhoeal disease. With over 164 million reported cases per annum, shigellosis accounts for 1.1 million deaths each year. Majority of these cases occur among the children of the developing nations and the emergence of multi-drug resistance Shigella strains in clinical isolates demands the development of better/new drugs against this pathogen. The genome of Shigella flexneri was extensively analyzed and found 4,362 proteins among which the functions of 674 proteins, termed as hypothetical proteins (HPs) had not been previously elucidated. Amino acid sequences of all these 674 HPs were studied and the functions of a total of 39 HPs have been assigned with high level of confidence. Here we have utilized a combination of the latest versions of databases to assign the precise function of HPs for which no experimental information is available. These HPs were found to belong to various classes of proteins such as enzymes, binding proteins, signal transducers, lipoprotein, transporters, virulence and other proteins. Evaluation of the performance of the various computational tools conducted using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis and a resoundingly high average accuracy of 93.6% were obtained. Our comprehensive analysis will help to gain greater understanding for the development of many novel potential therapeutic interventions to defeat Shigella infection.

In the user-centered design paradigm, information systems are created entirely tailored to the users who will use them. When the functions of a complex system meet a simple user interface, users can use the system conveniently. While web personalization services are emerging as a major trend in portal services, portal companies are competing for a second service, such as introducing 'integrated communication platforms'. Until now, the role of the portal has been content and search, but this time, the goal is to create and provide the personalized services that users want through a single platform. Personalization service is a login-based cloud computing service. It has the characteristic of being able to enjoy the same experience at any time in any space with internet access. Personalized web services like this have the advantage of attracting highly loyal users, making them a new service trend that portal companies are paying attention to. Researchers spend a lot of time collecting research-related information by accessing multiple information sources. There is a need to automatically build interest information profiles for each researcher based on personal presentation materials (papers, research projects, patents). There is a need to provide an advanced customized information service that regularly provides the latest information matched with various information sources. Continuous modification and supplementation of each researcher's information profile of interest is the most important factor in increasing suitability when searching for information. As researchers' interest in unstructured information such as technology markets and research trends is gradually increasing from standardized academic information such as patents, it is necessary to expand information sources such as cutting-edge technology markets and research trends. Through this, it is possible to shorten the time required to search and obtain the latest information for research purposes. The interest information profile for each researcher that has already been established can be used in the future to determine the degree of relationship between researchers and to build a database. If this customized information service continues to be provided, it will be useful for research activities.

This paper describes the portal system architecture of large consumers for ESP(Energy Service Provider) to provide customers with various value added services such as monitoring and controlling a wide variety of electric devices in consumer's premises for optimal energy management from both consumer side and ESP side, and the prototype implementation of 2 kinds of value added services. The architecture is composed of the device portal which gathers the information from electric devices and controls them and the consumer portal which can make ESP operate the optimal energy management with two-way communications. The demand side management and energy management functions was chosen and implemented for the prototype system as value added services. The prototype was designed to create, manage, and trace the events about services between ESP and customers.

By integrating WDM to OPS unit which plays an improtant role for the reliability of CPN, we made it possible to provide CATV, VOD, and high-speed data services simultaneously and to meet easily the requirements for new services in the future. For the design of optimal system, the link analysis of power budget has been perfomred. Also, the prototyped system has been tested with STM-1 level signals to confirm functions such as transmission, distribution, and protection. The results proved that when occurred out-of-order or recovery of ONU, the system did the pertinent switching with minimum loss for high-speed data services. Also for video distribution services, the system has distributed STM-1 level signals sucessfully.

With the development of information technology, the popularization of 5G and cloud computing has accelerated the circulation and digital transformation of information. In the network information society where information is rapidly increasing, it is very important to have the ability to manage and collect the required information. In particular, the information storage and management functions of cloud services are widely used among young people. This research takes the social factors of accepting cloud services as the breakthrough point, and takes young consumers aged 20-30 as the survey object, and designs a research model according to the development of cloud computing technology. The findings verify the influence of social factors on cloud service acceptance and 20-30-year-old consumers' intention to use cloud services. The partial and complete mediating effects of perceived ease of use were verified from the influence relationship between social factors and exploitation intention. Finally, this study provides inspiration for the development direction of cloud computing technology through empirical analysis.

There are lots of studies going on about internet addiction in a point of view of psychology and sociology. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relation between the internet addiction and the services and functions of internet softwares in a point of view of developing softwares. For this, the first goal is to see the type of the software that used most by elementary school students addicted to internet, and the second is to examine the risk factors of addiction and their priority orders in the services and functions offered by that kind of software. The results of this paper can give instructive informations to every children who use internet and their parents and teachers and software developers.

In this paper, to provide the possibility of various multimedia services, especially the collaborative work using the centralized control feature of the Service Node, is studied. We focused on the telewriting as the upper layer application to confirm the basic functions of the collaborative work. For this, we implement and add telewriting collaborative work function to the Service Node emulator, and terminals operating in the Windows environment are also developed. Through the tests on the system, we verify the basic functions related to the collaborative work are performed adequately, and confirm the concept of Service Node can support various type of multimedia conference services.
