본 연구에서는 지능형 정보 검색의 개념을 정립하고, 지능형 정보 검색 시스템의 모 형을 제시하였다. 실제로 우리말 문헌을 검색하는 지능형 시스템을 구현하였으며, 이 시스템 은 자연 언어 인터페이스, 이용자 모형화, 격관계를 이용한 자동 색인, 복수의 검색 기법 등 을 수용한다.

본 논문에서는 내용 기반 영상 검색 시스템(Content Based Image Retrieval System)의 특징 추출(feature extraction)과 분석(analysis)을 위한 방법으로 적응적 컴포넌트 분석(ACA: Adaptive Component Analysis)을 제안하고 있다. 검색을 위해서 영상에서 추출된 특징들은 영상의 도메인(domain)에 따라 적절하게 적용해야만 좋은 검색 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 이러한 조건을 만족시키기 위한 방법으로 본 논문에서는 검색 측정도(retrieval measurement)를 제안하고 있다. ACA는 알고리즘과 시스템적인 관점에서 볼 때, 기존의 내용 기반 영상 검색을 위한 중간 단계라고 할 수 있으며, 검색 속도향상 및 성능 개선에 목표를 두고 있다

이 연구에서는 부산 울산 경남지역의 대학도서관 전자정보자원 검색시스템과 전자정보자원 제공처의 검색시스템을 분석하였다. 도서관 검색시스템의 접근점과 검색조건들(검색어의 조합방식, 검색어 일치방식, 검색의 상세수준)은 서로 다르고 통일성이 없었다. 제공처 검색시스템의 접근점은 그 종류가 불필요할 정도로 많고 서로 달랐으나 검색조건들은 비교적 정밀하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 전자정보자원 검색시스템의 개선을 위한 제언을 하였다.

The emotional information processing is to simulate and recognize human sensibility, sensuality or emotion, to realize natural and harmonious human-machine interface. This paper proposes an emotion-based image retrieval method. In this method, user can choose a linguistic query among some emotional adjectives. Then the system shows some corresponding representative images that are pre-evaluated by experts. Again the user can select a representative one among the representative images to initiate traditional content-based image retrieval (CBIR). By this proposed method any CBIR can be easily expanded as emotion-based image retrieval. In CBIR of our system, we use several color and texture visual descriptors recommended by MPEG-7. We also propose a fuzzy similarity measure based on Choquet integral in the CBIR system. For the communication between system and user, a relevance feedback mechanism is used to represent human subjectivity in image retrieval. This can improve the performance of image retrieval, and also satisfy the user's individual preference.

Retrieval effectiveness is the principal criteria for measuring the performance of an information retrieval system. This paper deals with the characteristics of 'relevance' of information and various measuring techniques of retrieval effectivess. The outlines of this study are as follows: 1) Relevance decision for evaluation should be devided into the user-oriented and the system-oriented decisions. 2) The recall-precision measure seems to be user-oriented, and the recall-fallout measure to be system-oriented. 3) Many of composite measures can not be justified III any rational manner unfortunately. 4) The Swets model has demonstrated that it yields, in general, a straight line instead of a curve of varying curvature and emphasized the fundamentally probabilistic nature of information retrieval. 5) The Cooper model seems to be a good substitute for precision and a useful measure for systems which ranked documents. 6) The Rocchio model were proposed for the evaluation of retreval systems which ranked documents, and were designed to be independent of cut-off. 7) The Cawkell model suggested that the Shannon's equation for entropy can be applied to measuring of retrieval effectiveness.

웹 정보의 폭발적인 성장과 함께, 단순히 한 두 개의 키워드의 입력에 따른 검색은 너무 많은 검색결과를 가져오게 되기 때문에 전통적인 정보검색기법은 이용자들에게 있어서 만족할 수 없는 결과를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정보에 대한 의미를 기반으로 정보검색의 질적 향상을 위한 기술의 개발을 목표로 하고 있다. 이를 위하여 시멘틱 웹 기술에서 요구되는 시멘틱 기반 검색에 대한 최근의 연구동향 및 기술을 분석하여 시멘틱 기반 검색시스템에서 요구사항을 파악하고, 지능형 검색시스템의 아키텍처, 시멘틱 검색 서비스 개발 과정과 핵심기술 등을 살펴보았다. 분석결과와 함께, 시멘틱 기반 정보검색 시스템의 전체적인 아키텍처에 대한 설계 및 요구사항을 제안하였다.

An image retrieval system is a piece of software that searches identical or similar images based on various image-specific features. This paper proposes a trademark image retrieval system that uses image colors and forms. In the proposed system, input images are segmented into several other regions, and color distribution histograms for different regions are extracted for use as color information. The proposed system uses form information through the preprocessing process such as boundary surface extraction, centroid extraction, angular sampling and, and through calculating the sums of the distances between the centroid and the boundary surfaces, standard deviations, and the ratios between long and short axes. Like this, the color and form information extracted is used to perform retrieval through measuring similarity.

Recently, a name retrieval function is widely used on navigation systems. In this paper, we propose the new dynamic hashing algorithm for a name retrieval function on it. The proposed dynamic hashing algorithm by constructing an index using the variance information of character is the better than existing methods in terms of storage capacity and retrieval speed. The algorithm proposed in this paper can be useful on systems that have limited resources as well as navigation systems.

본 연구의 목적은 기존의 불논리 검색 시스템에서 사용할 수 있는 실용적인 피드백 검색 기법을 찾아내는 것으로서, 이용자의 적합성 평가 부담을 덜어줄 수 있도록 사전에 이용자 모형을 구축하여 놓고 피드백 검색시 시스템이 자동으로 적합성 평가를 하는 이용자 모형 기반 피드백 검색 기법을 제안하고 이의 유용성을 실험적으로 입증하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 증진된 불논리 검색 모형인 DNF 검색 모형과 P-norm 검색 모형을 사용한 피드백 검색 실험을 실시한 후, 검색효율이 높게 나온 DNF 모형을 채택하여 이용자 모형 기반 피드백 검색을 실시하였다. 실험 결과 모든 피드백 검색은 초기검색에 비해 검색효율이 크게 향상되었으며, 이용자 모형 기반 피드백 검색은 DNF 피드백 검색 결과에는 못미치지만 P-norm 피드백 검색 결과와는 거의 같은 수준의 검색효율을 보였다.

본 논문에서는 문헌의 전문을 대상으로 얻어진 4개의 상이한 적합성 판정 세트가 전문검색시스템의 검색효율성 평가에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 각 적합성 판정 세트간의 검색효율성에는 주목할 만한 차이가 없는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이는 적합성 개념에 대한 다양한 관점이 검색효율성의 평가에는 커다란 영향을 미치지 못하고 있음을 암시하는 것이다. 그러나, 적합성 정보를 효과적으로 이용하는 정교한 검색기법인 적합성 피이드백을 통합한 검색실험은 계속 연구되어야 할 과제로 제시하고 있다.
