Recently, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) have become increasingly popular in the last few decades, and overseas' M&A are particularly increasing to sharpen corporate competitiveness on a global scale. Previous studies showed that one of the main reasons attributes to failures of mergers was the lack of attention to merging information systems. In recent years, both academy and industry have more focused on Post-Merger Integration (PMI) and the integration of information systems (IS) between two companies is one of the critical success factors of corporate. This paper focused on Post-Merger IT (Information Technology) Integration Methodology of Cross-Border M&A. We followed a single-site qualitative case study method in order to investigate the type of phenomenon in M&A's natural setting. Moreover, we examined a typical energy and power company case in order-based industry, so that other industry players may have different results to determine post-merger IT integration method and scope.

Enterprise integration, which aims to enhance an enterprise's competitive edge, requires a highly structured product information model as a common product database. Previous research works on this issue have been narrowly focused on the transformation of product information between various operation areas, leading to a situation where enterprise integration lacks a formal method of information modeling. In this paper, research works and issues surrounding product information modeling for enterprise integration are reviewed, and the requirements for a product information model are identified. A product information model called L3DPIM (Layered Three Dimentional Product Information Model) is proposed, which is based on a feature-based design process. This model is expected to serve as a modeling paradigm for enterprise integration.

기업은 공급사슬을 활용하여 기업의 성과를 향상시키려고 한다. 하지만 공급사슬관리를 도입하는 것만으로는 기업의 성과를 향상시키는데 한계가 있다. 따라서 파트너 기업과의 통합을 통해서 성과를 향상시키려고 노력해야 한다. 공급사슬통합은 기업의 전략적 협업으로 정보공유는 공급사슬통합을 도입하고 운영하는데 중요한 역할을 하는 요인이다. 본 연구에서는 공급사슬통합과 기업성과 사이에서의 정보공유의 역할을 확인하려고 한다. 본 연구는 국내 제조업 관련 기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 199부의 설문지를 분석에 활용하였으며, Amos 21을 활용하여 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 공급사슬통합이 기업의 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 공급사슬통합과 기업성과 사이에서 정보공유가 매개변수 역할을 하는 것을 검증하였다. 따라서 기업은 성과를 향상시키기 위해서 공급사슬 파트너 기업과의 협업을 위한 통합을 지원하여 기업 간의 정보공유가 원활히 이루어지도록 노력해야 한다.

최근 들어 유비쿼터스 시대를 맞이하여 군 관련 정보의 통합운용이 점점 더 중요한 주제로 부각되고 있다. 기존정보시스템을 통합 운용함에 있어 문제의 핵심은 정보의 시맨틱의 불일치이다. 이의 해결을 위해 메타데이터의 활용이 요구되고 있다. 메타데이터는 데이터에 관한 데이터를 말하는 것으로 자원의 검색을 빠르게 하는데 사용되며 또한 시맨틱 갭을 해결하는데 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 군 정보통합을 위한 메타데이터 기반의 데이터 그리드 시스템을 다룬다. 먼저 군 정보 통합을 위한 접근방법으로서 연합 데이터베이스와 데이터 그리드에 관하여 살펴보고, 메타데이터 기반의 데이터 그리드를 다룬 다음, 이에 기초한 군사자료 데이터 그리드 시스템을 제시한다.

Effectively integrating information systems in mergers and acquisitions of large organizations can be critical to merger success. But the general literature on M&A focuses on the financial aspects of the acquisition process, rather than on the subsequent process of integration. This paper analyses the case of information systems integration in a merger of two Korean manufacturing organizations, and explores the factors influencing IS integration in M&A in Korea. To analysis this case and find factors affecting IS integration success, we use MIT'90s schema (framework) by Scott Morton that consists of 5 dimensions (strategy, processes, structure, individuals/roles, and technology). From the results of this case study, we found 13 factors and 14 propositions influencing IS integrations performance in M&A in Korean companies. This research helps the company to avoid mistakes and to manage IS integration in M&A. Also this study provides guide line for further researches.

Currently, it is not easy for most domestic public libraries to collect and provide reliable health information services on their own. Health information is distributed or professional, making it inconvenient for users to use. Based on the implications derived from the case study, the Library Health Information Integration Service Model was proposed as a specialized information service. The model consists of a composition shared by librarians, health and medical experts, and users, focusing on library websites that provide integrated health information integration services, and has the following features. First, it provides health and medical information on a specialized subject. Second, it provides integrated health and medical information services provided in various ways. Third, librarians and health and medical experts work together to provide information services. Fourth, users can freely use health information integration services online and offline. The model presented in this study means that libraries can play a leading role in health information integration services to increase the utilization rate of public libraries and further contribute to librarians serving as experts in health information services.

Amount of biological data information has been increasing exponentially. In order to cope with this bio-information explosion, it is necessary to construct a biological data information integration system. The integration system could provide useful services for bio-application developers by answering general complex queries that require accessing information from heterogeneous bio data sources, and easily accommodate a new database into the integrated systems. In this paper, we analyze architectures and mechanisms of existing integration systems with their advantages and disadvantages. Based on this analysis and user requirement studies, we propose an integration system framework that embraces advantages of the existing systems. More specifically, we propose an integration system architecture composed of a mediator and wrappers, which can offer a service interface layer for various other applications as well as independent biologists, thus playing the role of database management system for biology applications. In other words, the system can help abstract the heterogeneous information structures and formats from the application layer. In the system, the wrappers send database-specific queries and report the result to the mediator using XML. The proposed system could facilitate in silico knowledge discovery by allowing combination of numerous discrete biological information databases.

Research and development of remote sensing technique is necessary so that more accurate and extensive information may be obtained. To achieve this goal, the synthesized technique which integrates the high resolution optic and SAR image, and topographical information was examined to investigate the quantitative/qualitative characteristics of the Earth's surface environment. For this purpose, high-precision DEMs of Jeju-Island was generated and data fusion algorithm was developed in order to integrate the multi-spectral optic and polarimetric SAR image. Three dimensional land-cover and two dimensional soil moisture maps were generated conclusively so as to investigate the Earth's surface environments and extract the geophysical parameters.

본 연구는 정부기관의 정보시스템을 통합한 정부통합전산센터의 사례를 중심으로 IT 통합의 경제적 성과를 측정하였다. 성과측정을 위해 측정항목은 TCO 비용항목에 기반하여 사전 2개 기관에 대한 시범분석을 통하여 최종 측정항목을 개발하였다. 측정결과, IT 자산비용이 가장 큰 경제적 성과로 성과의 대부분을 차지하고 있으며, 다음으로 IT 지원비용과 IT 관리비용의 순으로 경제적 성과가 있는 것으로 조사 및 분석되었다. 본 연구의 주요 의의로는 국내외 선행연구 검토를 토대로 TCO 방법론에 따라 2개 기관을 대상으로 시범분석 과정을 통하여 TCO 측정항목을 IT 통합성과 측정에 적합하도록 개발하였으며, 동 측정항목을 기준으로 신뢰성 있는 현황자료를 토대로 객관적으로 경제적 성과를 측정하였다는 점이다.

전 세계적으로 기업환경의 불확실성과 복잡성과 더불어 기업은 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위한 핵심요소의 하나로 공급사슬관리에 집중해오고 있다. 성공적인 공급사슬관리는 기업의 내부적 핵심역량과 공급사슬에서의 개별 기능의 통합을 강화하기 위한 노력을 추진해 왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 기업 간 정보공유가 공급사슬통합과 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 선행연구를 통해 설정된 연구가설을 구조방정식을 활용하여 분석하였다. 전체 723부의 설문지가 가설검정을 위해 투입되었다. 본 연구를 통해 기업간 정보공유는 공급사슬통합에 커다란 영향을 미치며, 이는 운영적·전략적 수준에서 재무, 시장점유율 그리고 고객 만족 등의 기업성과에 긍정적 영향을 미친다는 결과를 도출하였다. 기업간 정보의 통합과 공유를 통한 공급사슬의 통합은 정보, 서비스, 재화 및 돈의 흐름을 촉진시킨다. 그러므로 만약 공급사슬의 구성원간 정보가 단절되며 전체 공급사슬관리에 부정적인 효과를 가져올 것이다. 반면 공급사슬구성원이 단일의 플랫폼에서 실시간으로 효율적으로 정보를 고유할 수 있다면 전체 공급사슬의 최적화를 도모할 수 있다. 전략적이고 운영적 수준에서 정보의 공유와 통합은 공급사슬통합에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 이는 기업의 성과와 경쟁력 제고에 기여할 것이다.
