  • The smart convergence environment, in which all industries are converged around ICT infrastructure -- with the eventual inclusion of both industry and culture -- looms. With the emergence of new convergence industries such as smart medicine, smart cities, and smart automobiles, the ICT infrastructure is recognized as the foundation of the overall economy. As such, the importance of the next generation of information and communication construction businesses, which constructs the ICT infrastructure, is highlighted under the smart convergence paradigm environment; various multilateral policies to foster the information and communication construction business -- led by the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning -- are being implemented. Like other infrastructure industries, however, the estimation of the demand function of the information and communication construction business overall is essential for effectively establishing promotional policies for information and communication construction businesses. However, there has been no study which theoretically estimates the market demand function in the information and communication construction business thus far. The pursuit of a creative economy is a national agenda, as the significance of accelerating the ICT infrastructure is emphasized. Therefore, this paper seeks to estimate quantitatively the demand function in the information and communication construction business using empirical data and a statistical model and then to present policy implications which will aid the development of the information and communication construction business.

  • Since the profess of the reformation and opening Policy in 1978, China has been outstandingly developed its economy and increased the real scale of its economy 4 times as big as before, and is expected to rise as a superpower holding in check U.S.A even in economy as well as politics, military affairs and diplomacy in the 21st century. In this position, China has constantly tried to join WTO since 1986, as an effort to gain a status in the international society. It hsa been making various economic reformations to provoke a crustal movement in its own economy such as tariffs lowering measurement for the almost whole items, remove of restriction of import items, lowering the refunding rate of over deposit tax and annihilation of the special treatments for the foreign investment. In short, recently Chinese government is cutting down the special treatments for the foreign capital enterprises and changing the policy to the direction of gradually reinforcing the control, so it requires that our enterprises trying to advance and invest in China have to consider these carefully. Investment in China of our enterprises become serious since 1990 is focused on such labor intensive industries as textiles, sewing and shoes which lost the competitive power due to the wage increase. Particularly, Pusan economy having played the role of locomotive for Korean economy in the past developing period has been weakened in the competitiveness and not yet activated in 1990s. In terms of this, the enterprises engaged in such typical industries of Pusan as shoes, textiles and sewing have borne much fruit from the investment in China with abundant and cheap labors. However, from a few years the enterprises in Pusan invested in China due to the cheap labors and rich resources and invested in China have suffered much troubles and failures more and more resulted from the advancement without sufficient previous knowledge and information related to the investment including investment environment. Therefore, at the time of advancement in China, Korean enterprises should make their decision related to the investment, after taking these investment environment into account previously to a full extent and making an investment strategy.

  • This study analyzed the efficiency and influence factors according to the main research institute type of R&D Program for the local community problem-solving. This study applied data envelopment analysis (DEA) method and Tobit regression analysis by using 20 institutions that participated in R&D Program. The results are summarized as follows. First, Analysis results according to the research institute type of R&D project, Efficient DMUs showed more regional innovation institutions than social economy enterprises. But regional innovation institutions were the lowest in the CCR and BCC model. However, efficiency dose not differ between regional innovation institutions and social economy enterprises. Second, as a result of the analysis relation between efficiency and allocation characteristics of R&D input, the participation of regional innovation organizations as participating organizations has a negative effect on efficiency. It was found that the higher the proportion of government subsidies and the higher the employment rate of the vulnerable, which is a social achievement, the positive effect on efficiency. The implication of this study is that the participation of social economy enterprises as the main R&D institution and government R&D support can provide social economy enterprises with opportunities to accumulate R&D capabilities and experience successful commercialization.

Quantitative method is used in this study with Multivariate Analysis of Variance as the analysis tool. The data used is secondary data gathered from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) using 308 companies as samples. In the multivariate test, four kinds of multivariate significance tests were carried out, namely Pillai Trace, Wilk Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root. It was found that social media value has a small contribution in the difference of the level of profitability and the value of the company in Indonesia, but it doesn't have a contribution to the difference of the level of liquidity. The contribution was an implication of online Word of Mouth (WOM) motives which are interrelated with signal theory and as additional information for investors in relation to single-person decision theory. This study provides an insight into the importance of social media management considering that the world of digital economy will continue to develop, so companies in Indonesia need to take advantage of these opportunities.

  • There are some ambiguities of the information on the fuel economy provided to the consumers because the standard and the detailed regulations for the fuel economy of the two-wheeled vehicle have not been established in Korea. Since Korea has been a signatory of World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations since 1998, it is possible to remove the ambiguities by adopting the WMTC (Worldwide-harmonized Motorcycle Test Cycle) measurement method for the fuel economy of the two-wheel vehicle. As a preliminary study on the WMTC mode fuel economy, road loads measured by coast down method and table method were compared for the two types of two-wheeled motorcycles on sales in domestic market. In the same model, it was confirmed that the deviation of WMTC mode fuel efficiency was below -5% between products. On the other hand, the difference of WMTC fuel economy exceeded 5% between the coast down method and table method.

In this regard, the article deals with analysis of the development tendency of green economy in Kazakhstan emphasizing commercialization of green technologies. In the first part of the study, authors investigated more than 50 official sources of information, including laws, concepts, programs, events and reviews of major international organizations. The study's methodological basis included Kazakhstan's legislative and regulatory Acts, state programs and Concept for transition to Green economy, and data about innovations in the field of green technologies. Six experts were interviewed in order to determine factors which interfere to commercialization of green technologies. Urgent problems and trends of development, challenges and obstacles to gain green economy have also been identified in the result of expert interviewing. The research shows that despite Kazakhstan's intentions to update and develop much of its infrastructure over the coming 20 years, inefficient use of resources is currently observed in every sector. It is necessary to encourage scientists and entrepreneurs to invent and commercialize new green technologies. That would be basis for successful implementation of transition from "brown" to green economy.

  • The telecommunication service industry plays a major role in the realization of the perfect information society in the 21st century and, has a great influence in society and culture. Using the Calculable General Equilibrium Model, we analyze the telecommunication service's economic effects on other industries as well as on the national economy. In 2001, the 8 percent increase in the telecom sales caused the 5 billion dollar increase in the GDP, which seems to continue to bring about no less than 5 billion dollar GDP increase each year until 2030. The telecom sales increase has been evaluated to have disproportionately positive effect on transmission device and audio equipment industries. In summary, the telecom sales have a positive net enぉ on the GDP and on most of the industries with a few exceptions.

  • The sharing economy has significantly changed the way of living for years. The emergence and expansion of sharing economy empowered by the mobile information technologies and intellectual algorithms reconfigure how people use transportation means. In this paper, the bike sharing phenomenon is highlighted. Combining a big data set provided by the Seoul government about user logs and air quality data set, the empirical findings reveal that temperature change is tightly associated bike sharing activities. Also, the concentration of particulate matter is weakly related to bike sharing, but the trend should be carefully examined. By considering external environmental factors to bike sharing businesses, this work is differentiated. To further understand empirical data, data mining methods and econometric approaches were adopted.
