A Study on the Development of Ontology based on the Jewelry Brand Information (귀금속.보석 상품정보 온톨로지 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This research is to develop product retrieval system through simplified communication by applying intelligent agent technology based on automatically created domain ontology to present solution on problems with e-commerce system which searches in the web documents with a simple keyword. Ontology development extracts representative term based on classification information of international product classification code(UNSPSC) and jewelry websites that is applied to analogy relationship thesaurus to establish standardized ontology. The intelligent agent technology is applied to retrieval stage to support efficiency of information collection for users by designing and developing e-commerce system supported with semantic web. Moreover, it designs user profile to personalized search environment and provide personalized retrieval agent and retrieval environment with inference function to make available with fast information collection and accurate information search.

  • Recently a malware is increasing for leaking personal data, credit information, financial information, etc. The secondary damage is also rapidly increasing such as the illegal use of stolen name, financial fraud, etc. But when a system is infected by a malware of leaking information, the existing malware evidence collection tools do not provide evidences conveniently or sometimes cannot provide necessary evidences. So security officials have much difficulty in responding to malwares. This paper analyzes the current status and problems of the existing malware evidence collection tools and suggests new ways to improve those problems.

  • Satellite operation is divided as user's request, image collection planning, product generation, distribution. Image collection planning is to make image collection plan of satellite to reflect user's request in proper time based on NTO (New Task Order) and AO (Archive Order) using limited satellite resources. Image collection planning has high computational cost because of considering several variables simultaneously, is to be performed identical process repeatedly. In this paper, optimization research of image collection planning is performed for efficient planning. First, formulation of image collection planning is made to require satellite image as much as possible and then Heuristic algorithm is suggested for solution of formulation.

A Survey and Analysis of Current Collection Management State in School Libraries (학교도서관의 장서관리 현황조사 및 분석)

  • This study reports the result of the survey on collection management from 154 school libraries in Korea. The questionnaire is consisted of three section: state of collection, state of book use, and collection management system. Results reveal that (1) elementary schools and middle schools have many books for each student compared to the KLA's School Library Standards; (2) the component ratio of literature books is the biggest in school library collections; (3) the ratio of library book use is overwhelmingly higher in elementary schools than middle schools and high schools; (4) 64.6 percent of library books in the sample are never used during 2013-2015; (5) 74 percent of libraries have its own collection management document; (6) Almost all schools compose its own committee for library management, the committee plays an important roles in the communication among school members, collection development and promotion.

A Message Reduction Method for Performance Improvement of the ISO/IEC 18000-7 based Active RFID System (ISO/IEC 18000-7 기반 능동형 RFID 시스템의 성능 개선을 위한 메시지 감소 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method for improving the tag collection performance in active RFID systems by modifying the tag collection algorithm in the ISO/IEC 18000-7 standard. The proposed method enables to reduce the time slot size by reducing the response message size from the tag and to decrease the number of command messages from the reader throughout the tag collection process. This results in reducing the time required for tag collection and the battery consumption on tags by decreasing the total amount of messages. Via the simulation experiments, we evaluated the performance of the tag collection applied with the proposed method, compared with that of the basic tag collection complying with the standard. The simulation results showed that the proposed method could decrease the total amount of messages between the reader and tags dramatically and reduce the average tag collection time by 19.99% and 16.03% when the reader requested the additional data of 50 bytes and 100 bytes from the tags, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential use of the theme collection as a new classification method that reflects the interest of users in terms of classification and categorization. For this purpose, the background of the theme collection was identified based on the discussion of the library resource organization and the introduction of the curation service of bookstore. In addition, based on case analysis, which is building the theme collection, concrete concepts and characteristics of theme collection are derived. Based on the above discussion, the classification and categorization characteristics of public library themes collections were analyzed, and the characteristics and functions as a classification were compared with other categories relatively. Finally, the utility and applicability of the theme collection is presented and it is based on the discussions about the user-centered classification system design of the library in the future.

An Adaptive Garbage Collection Policy for NAND Flash Memory (낸드 플래시 메모리를 위한 적응형 가비지 컬렉션 정책)

  • In order to utilize NAND flash memory as storage media which does not allow update-in-place and limits the number of block erase count, various garbage collection policies supporting wear-leveling have been investigated. Conventional garbage collection policies require cleaning-index calculation for the entire blocks to choose a block to be garbage-collected to support wear-leveling whenever a garbage collection is required, which results in performance degradation of system. This paper proposes a garbage collection policy which supports wear-leveling using a threshold value, which is in fact a variance of erase counts and by the maximum erase count of all blocks, without calculating the cleaning-index. During garbage collection, the erase cost is minimized by using the Greedy Policy if the variance is less than the threshold value. It achieves wear-leveling by excluding the block with the largest erase count from erase target blocks if the variance is larger than threshold value. The proposed scheme shows that a standard deviation approaches to zero as the erase count of blocks approaches to its upper limit and the measured speed of garbage collection is two times faster than the conventional schemes.

An Investigation on the Acquisition and Preservation of Online Serials (온라인 연속간행자료수집 및 보존에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to develop the operation models collection and preservation of serials only distributed online. In order to identify all of the requisite items for collection and preservation of the online serials, it conducts Delphi Technique researches with panels of experts from public institutions, organizations, and research institutions. It also deduces the 68 necessary detailed items to develop the operation models for preserving the online serials, and suggests 57 detailed items selected from the compatibility analysis with the investigation and examination of compatibility and urgency. It suggests the automated collection plan of contents with the application of RSS technology of transfer protocol to provide users the updated information from the sites where the contents and data have been constantly and frequently updated. This study strives to design the collection and preservation processes suitable for the online serials.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a robot that moves independently, communicates with a human, and explicitly extracts information from the human mind that is rarely expressed verbally. In a spoken dialog system for information collection, it is desirable to continue communicating with the user as long as possible, but not if the user does not wish to communicate. Therefore, the system should be able to terminate the communication before the user starts to object to using it. In this paper, to enable the construction of a decision model for a system to decide when to stop communicating with a human, we acquired speech and motion data from individuals who were asked many questions by another person. We then analyze their speech and body motion when they do not mind answering the questions, and also when they wish the questioning to cease. From the results, we can identify differences in speech power, length of pauses, speech rate, and body motion.
