  • The information drive of the businesses requires new alternatives in that the promotion of business efficiency through information process technologies ends up conflicting with the protection of information human rights on laborers’side. Nevertheless, apathy on information protection has a tendency to be distorted by the efficiency of the businesses. Should the capital and mass media warn economic red lights, political circles with uneasiness would ignore the significance of information protection on the behalf of business efficiency. Therefore, the importance of information protection is considered a smaller interest than that of business efficiency with the infringements of human rights on laborers’side arising. Informatization of the businesses along with the developments of information process technologies has enabled the management to monitor and control the behaviors of laborers. This new problem needs to establish both information protection mechanism and institutional devices to regulate those labor controls. The security of business activity without human rights infringement warrants both basic rights of the public and spirit of the Constitution. The study suggests the establishment and revision of laws suitable to the period of information human rights. On top of that, the establishment of the basic law for information protection of individuals’with the common principle that integrates the related laws and rules on-off line is needed. This will warrant the active participation of labor unions and create specific alternatives for information protection.

  • Privacy laws are widely enforced throughout the general public and private sector, and the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs is stepping up its annual level of protection and management levels annually. However, in actual field, it has limits to follow the laws that are amended to comply with the privacy laws of the public sector. Therefore, this study should examine the trends of privacy protection and examine items that require adherence to privacy practices in public institutions. In addition, it is hoped to draw implications for the problems arising from the task itself, as well as providing implications for the issues that are closely related to the public in the privacy of the privacy policies.

  • The use of digital imaging technique and digital contents based on internet has grown rapidly for last several years, and the needs of digital image protection become more important. For the purpose of copyright protection on digital image, the verification of authentication techniques like content authentication, ownership authentication, illegal copy and etc are needed. Digital watermarking, the invisible encryption technique to insert digital watermark into image the sophisticated perceptual information should be used for providing transparency and robustness of images on watermarking process. In this paper, we implement the algorithm for preventing forged attack, ownership protection and authentication by transforming the wavelet algorithms in frequency domain in terms of human visual system.

  • In this paper, we suggest a practical and flexible system architecture for JTAG(Joint Test Action Group) protection of application processors. From the view point of security, the debugging function through JTAG port can be abused by malicious users, so the internal structures and important information of application processors, and the sensitive information of devices connected to an application processor can be leak. This paper suggests a system architecture that disables computing power of computers used to attack processors to reveal important information. For this, a user authentication method is used to improve security strength by checking the integrity of boot code that is stored at boot memory, on booting time. Moreover for user authorization, we share hard wired secret key cryptography modules designed for functional operation instead of hardwired public key cryptography modules designed for only JTAG protection; this methodology allows developers to design application processors in a cost and power effective way. Our experiment shows that the security strength can be improved up to $2^{160}{\times}0.6$second when using 160-bit secure hash algorithm.

  • Nearest neighbor query in location-based services has become a popular application. Aiming at the shortcomings of the privacy protection algorithms of traditional ciphertext nearest neighbor query having the high system overhead because of the usage of the double Hilbert curves and having the inaccurate query results in some special circumstances, a privacy protection algorithm of ciphertext nearest neighbor query which is based on the single Hilbert curve has been proposed. This algorithm uses a single Hilbert curve to transform the two-dimensional coordinates of the points of interest into Hilbert values, and then encrypts them by the order preserving encryption scheme to obtain the one-dimensional ciphertext data which can be compared in numerical size. Then stores the points of interest as elements composed of index value and the ciphertext of the other information about the points of interest on the server-side database. When the user needs to use the nearest neighbor query, firstly calls the approximate nearest neighbor query algorithm proposed in this paper to query on the server-side database, and then obtains the approximate nearest neighbor query results. After that, the accurate nearest neighbor query result can be obtained by calling the precision processing algorithm proposed in this paper. The experimental results show that this privacy protection algorithm of ciphertext nearest neighbor query which is based on the single Hilbert curve is not only feasible, but also optimizes the system overhead and the accuracy of ciphertext nearest neighbor query result.

  • Recently, according to the establishment of personal information protection Act, the public and private organizations are taking a step to protect personal information rights and interests by employing the technical methods such as the access control mechanism, cryptography, etc. The result of the personal information leakage causes a serious damage for the organization image and also has to face with the responsibility by law. However, applying access control and cryptographic approach on the personal information item for every connection to large database system causes significant performance degradation in a large database system. In this paper, we designed and implemented the light weight system using JVM (Java Virtual Machine) for the Oracle DBMS environment which the concurrent transaction occurs many, thereby the proposed system provides the minimum impact on the system performance and meets the need of personal information protection. The proposed system was validated on the personal information protection system which sits on a 'A' public organization's portal site and personnel information management system.

  • There is a growing interest in "smart grid" technology, especially after the government recently announced "low-carbon green-growth industry" project. A smart grid uses "smart meters", which can be deployed in any power-consuming places like homes and factories. It has been shown that smart meters have several security weaknesses. There is, however, no protection profile available for smart meters, which means that safety with using them is not guaranteed at all. This paper analyzes vulnerabilities of smart meters and the relevant attack methods, thereby deriving the security functions and requirements for smart meters. Finally, we propose a protection profile based on Common Criterion v3.l for smart meters.
