The interaction of forced convection-conduction with thermal radiation in laminar boundary layer over a plate fin is studied numerically. The analysis is based on complete solution whereby the heat conduction equation for the fin is solved simultaneously with the conservation equations for mass, momentum and energy in the fluid boundary layer adjacent to the fin. The fluid is a gray medium and diffusion(Rosseland) approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. The resulting boundary value problem are convection-conduction parameter N$_{c}$ and radiation-conduction parameter m, Prandtl number Pr. Numerical results are presented for gases with the Prandtl numbers of 0.7 & 5 with values of N$_{c}$ and M ranging from 0 to 10 respectively. The object of this study is to provide the first results on forced convection-radiation interaction in boundary layer flow over a semi-infinite flay plate which can be used for comparisons with future studies that will consider a more accurate expression for the radiative heat flux. The agreement of the results from the complete solution presented by E. M. Sparrow and those from this paper for the special case of M=0 is good. The overall rate of heat transfer from the fin considering radiative effect is higher than that from the fin neglecting radiative effect. The local heat transfer coefficient with radiative effect is higher than that without radiative effect. In the direction from tip to base, those coefficients decrease at first, attain minimum, and then increase. The larger values of N$_{c}$ M, Pr give rise to larger fin temperature variations and the fin temperature without radiative effect is always higher than that with radiative effect.

This study was carried out to investigate the problem of analysis method of circular sliding, which uses a high rate to work out a countermeasure for landslides. The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1. As a result of the analysis of sliding surface along the soil layers in forty model slopes, the boundary layer in weathered soil and weathered rock indicated a very high possibility of sliding than in other places. 2. Because most landslides in Korea occur along the discontinuity face at the boundary of soil layers, below 2m. from land surface, it is a good method for safe design to work the countermeasure for these kinds of landslides in cutting slopes. 3. When the inclination of slopes is fixed and the length of slopes is changed, the cercular sliding slopes were more safe as the soil layers are more shallow and the length of slopes are shorter, but the safety ratio of infinite sliding slopes was same as the other even though their length of slopes was different. 4. As a result of the analysis by cercular sliding analysis method and infinite sliding analysis method with some condition that the inclination of slopes was $30^{\circ}$ degree, because most landslides in Korea occur at this condition, these methods indicated different results to each other as well as cercular sliding analysis method showed too much safety ratio than infinite sliding analysis method.

The purpose of this study is prediction of landslide occurrence reflecting the subsurface flow characteristics within the soil layer in the future due to climate change in a large scale watershed. To do this, we considered the infinite slope stability theory to evaluate the landslide occurrence with predicted soil moisture content by SWAT model based on monitored data (rainfall-soil moisture-discharge). The correlation between the SWAT model and the monitoring data was performed using the coefficient of determination (R2) and the model's efficiency index (Nash and Sutcliffe model efficiency; NSE) and, an accuracy analysis of landslide prediction was performed using auROC (area under Receiver Operating Curve) analysis. In results comparing with the calculated discharge-soil moisture content by SWAT model vs. actual observation data, R2 was 0.9 and NSE was 0.91 in discharge and, R2 was 0.7 and NSE was 0.79 in soil moisture, respectively. As a result of performing infinite slope stability analysis in the area where landslides occurred in the past based on simulated data (SWAT analysis result of 0.7~0.8), AuROC showed 0.98, indicating that the suggested prediction method was resonable. Based on this, as a result of predicting the characteristics of landslide occurrence by 2050 using climate change scenario (RCP 8.5) data, it was calculated that four landslides could occur with a soil moisture content of more than 75% and rainfall over 250 mm/day during simulation. Although this study needs to be evaluated in various regions because of a case study, it was possible to determine the possibility of prediction through modeling of subsurface flow mechanism, one of the most important attributes in landslide occurrence.

The perovskite solar cell is an active part of research in renewable energy fields such as solar energy, wind, hydroelectric power, marine energy, bioenergy, and hydrogen energy to replace fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas, which will gradually disappear as power demand increases due to the increase in use of the Internet of Things and Virtual environments due to the 4th industrial revolution. The perovskite solar cell is a solar cell device using an organic-inorganic hybrid material having a perovskite structure, and has advantages of replacing existing silicon solar cells with high efficiency, low cost solutions, and low temperature processes. In order to optimize the light absorption layer thin film predicted by the existing empirical method, reliability must be verified through device characteristics evaluation. However, since it costs a lot to evaluate the characteristics of the light-absorbing layer thin film device, the number of tests is limited. In order to solve this problem, the development and applicability of a clear and valid model using machine learning or artificial intelligence model as an auxiliary means for optimizing the light absorption layer thin film are considered infinite. In this study, to estimate the light absorption layer thin-film optimization of perovskite solar cells, the regression models of the support vector machine's linear kernel, R.B.F kernel, polynomial kernel, and sigmoid kernel were compared to verify the accuracy difference for each kernel function.

In LSP (laser shock peening) treatment, the laser source geometries when the laser beam strikes the metal target area are diverse. The laser spot geometry affects the residual stress field beneath the treated surface of the metallic materials, which determines the characteristics of the pressure pulse. In this paper, detailed finite-element (FE) simulations on laser shock peening have been conducted in order to predict the magnitude and of the residual stresses and the depth affected in Inconel alloy 600 steel. The residual stress results are compared for circular, rectangular, and elliptical laser spot geometries. It is found that a circular spot can produce the maximum compressive residual stresses near the surface but generates tensile residual stresses at the center of the laser spot. In the depth direction, an elliptical laser spot produces the maximum compressive residual stresses. Circular and elliptical spots plastically affect the alloy to higher depths than a rectangular spot.
Previous recognition/clustering algorithms such as Kohonen SOM(Self-Organizing Map), MLP(Multi-Layer Percecptron) and SVM(Support Vector Machine) might not adapt to unexpected input pattern. And it's recognition rate depends highly on the complexity of own training patterns. We could make up for and improve the weak points with lowering complexity of original problem without losing original characteristics. There are so many ways to lower complexity of the problem, and we chose a kernel concepts as an approach to do it. In this paper, using a kernel concepts, original data are mapped to hyper-dimension space which is near infinite dimension. Therefore, transferred data into the hyper-dimension are distributed spasely rather than originally distributed so as to guarantee the rate to be risen. Estimating ratio of recognition is based on a new similarity-probing and learning method that are proposed in this paper. Using CEDAR DB which data is written in cursive letters, 0 to 9, we compare a recognition/clustering performance of kSOM that is proposed in this paper with previous SOM.
The fossil fuel power consumption generates $CO_2$, which causes the problems such as global warming. Also, the increase in energy consumption has accelerated the depletion of the fossil fuels, and renewable energy is attracting attention. Among the renewable energies, the solar energy gets a lot of attention as the infinite clean energy source. But, the supply level of solar cell is insignificant due to high cost of generation of electric power in comparison with fossil fuels. Thus several researchers are recently doing the research on ultra-low-cost solar cells. Also, $Cu_2O$ is one of the applied materials as an absorption layer in ultra-low-cost solar cells. Cuprous oxide ($Cu_2O$) is highly desirable semiconductor oxide for use in solar energy conversion due to its direct band gap ($E_g={\sim}2.1eV$) and a high absorption coefficient that absorbs visible light of wavelengths up to 650 nm. In addition, $Cu_2O$ has several advantages such as non-toxicity, low cost and can be prepared with simple and cheap methods on large scale. In this work, we fabricated the $Cu_2O$ thin films by reactive sputtering method. The films were deposited with a Cu target with variable parameters such as substrate temperature, rf-power, and annealing condition. Finally, we confirmed the structural properties of thin films by XRD and SEM.
The hydrodynamic instability of the three-dimensional boundary layer on a rotating disk introduces a periodic modulation of the mean flow in the form of stationary cross flow vortices. The instability labeled Type II by Faller occurs first at lower Reynolds number than that of well known Type I instability. Detailed numerical values of the amplification rates, neutral curves and other characteristics of the two instabilities have been calculated over a wide range of parameters. Presented are the neutral stability results concerning the two instability modes by solving the appropriate linear stability equations reformulated not only by considering whole convective terms but also by correcting some errors in the previous stability equations. The present stability results agree with the previously known ones within reasonable limit. Consequently, the flow is found to be always stable for a disturbance whose dimensionless wave number is greater than 0.75. Some spatial amplification contours have been computed for the stationary disturbance wave, whose azimuth angle $\varepsilon$= 11.29$^{\circ}$ to 15$^{\circ}$ and for the moving disturbance wave, whose azimuth angle $\varepsilon$ = 12.5$^{\circ}$ to 15$^{\circ}$. Also, some temporal amplification contours have been computed for the stationary disturbance wave, whose azimuth angle $\varepsilon$= 11.29$^{\circ}$ to 15$^{\circ}$ and for the moving disturbance wave, whose azimuth angle $\varepsilon$= 12$^{\circ}$ to 15$^{\circ}$. The flow instability was observed by using a white titanium tetrachloride gas over rotating disk system. When the numerical results are compared to the present experimental data, the numerical results agree quantitatively, indicating the existence of the selective frequency mechanism.

In this paper, an equalizer(RNE) using nonlinear multilayer combining techniques in Bayesian equalizer with a structure of radial basis function network is proposed in order to simplify the structure and enhance the performance of the equalizer(RE) using a radial basis function network. The conventional RE Produces its output using linear combining the outputs of the basis functions in the hidden layer while the proposed RNE produces its output using nonlinear combining the outputs of the basis function in the first hidden layer. The nonlinear combiner is implemented by multilayer perceptrons(MLPs). In addition, as an infinite impulse response structure, the RNE with decision feedback equalizer (RNDFE) is proposed. The proposed equalizer has simpler structure and shows better performance than the conventional RE in terms of bit error probability and mean square error.

The effects of parameters related to the finite element simulation of the laser shock peening(LSP) process on the residual stresses of Inconel alloy 600 steel are discussed. In particular, we focus on the maximum pressure, pressure pulse duration, laser spot size, and number of shots. It is found that certain ranges of the maximum pressure and pulse duration can produce the maximum compressive residual stresses near the surface, and thus proper choices of these parameters are important. The residual stresses are not affected by the laser spot size, provided it is larger than a certain size. The magnitudes of the compressive residual stresses and the plastically affected depths are found to increase with an increasing number of shots, but this effect is less pronounced for more shots.
