In this study, we developed a machine learning-based model for predicting the production stage temperature of distillation process. It is necessary to predict an accurate temperature for control because the control of the distillation process is done through the production stage temperature. The temperature in distillation process has a nonlinear complex relationship with other variables and time series data, so we used the recurrent neural network algorithms to predict temperature. In the model development process, by adjusting three recurrent neural network based algorithms, and batch size, we selected the most appropriate model for predicting the production stage temperature. LSTM128 was selected as the most appropriate model for predicting the production stage temperature. The prediction performance of selected model for the actual temperature is RMSE of 0.0791 and R2 of 0.924.

This article develops to determine and to allocate the two level factors at the table of orthogonal arrays. The column numbers of two factors and two-factor interaction can be determined in applying the bit-by-bit EX-OR operation. The assignment of the Two factors and Two factor interaction is attained by USING COMPUTER, IBM PC/AT applying algorithm of EX-OR operation Theory.
Flat-plate building systems are utilized extensively for construction of apartments, hotels and office buildings because of short construction period, low floor-to-floor height and flexibility in plan design. Recently, to increase lateral seismic resistance of flat-plate building systems, wall-columns are used frequently. Therefore, to estimate strength of flat-plate column connection accurately, the effect of column section shape on the behavior of flat-plate column connection should be considered properly, In the present study, a numerical analysis was performed for interior connections of continuous flat-plate to analyze the effect of column section shape. For the purpose, a computer program for nonlinear FE analysis was developed, and the validity was verified. Through the parametric study, the variations of shear stress distribution around the connection were investigated. According to the result of numerical analysis, as the length of the cross section of column in the direction of lateral load increases, the effective area and the maximum shear strength providing the torsional resistance decrease considerably. Therefore, these effects should be considered properly to estimate the strength of flat-plate connection accurately.
An experimental study was performed to investigate the earthquake resistance of the beam-column connections as a part of a precast concrete moment-resisting frame that uses precast concrete U-shaped shells for the beams. Five full-scale precast concrete specimens and one conventional monolithic concrete specimen were tested under cyclic loading. The parameters for this test were the reinforcement ratio, stirrup spacing, and end-strengthening details of the precast beam shell. The test results showed that regardless of the test parameters, the precast concrete beam-column connections showed good load-carrying capacity and deformation capacity, which were comparable to those of conventional monolithic concrete specimen. However, at large deformations, the beam-column connections of the precast concrete specimens were subjected to severe strength degradation due to diagonal shear cracks and the bond-slip of re-bars at the joint region. For this reason, the energy dissipation capacity and stiffness of the precast concrete specimens were significantly less than those of the cast-in-place specimen.

Shortening the construction duration of structural frame work is extremely important because the work accounts for a major percentage of all cost and duration in large projects. For this reason, new construction methods to reduce the duration of structural frame work are being continuously studied and developed. A PSRC composite column, which uses steel angles instead of H-beams, has the advantages of flexural strength and ductility. Moreover, with this PSRC technique, conventional work for reinforcing bars in columns in practice can be skipped. However, one limitation exists in which the form work is still required. This research proposes a Form-LPSRC column method that is prefabricated with the column frame that includes permanent forms attached. Feasibility was examined with mock-up specimens and finally, the technique applied to real practice. Compared to the conventional SRC column method, this study demonstrated that the proposed technique has many advantages in construction duration, cost, quality, safety and environment.

This present was carried out to evaluate the adaptability of stabilization method which was used industrial byproducts as the stabilization agency in the abandoned mine site. In order to investigate stabilization effect on As-contaminated soils treated by industrial by-products, batch tests and column tests were carried out with As-contaminated soils collected from farmland around the abandoned mine site. ZVI(zero valent iron) and SRS(steel refining slag) was shown a good treatment effect. After the column test, sequential extraction test and simple bioavailability extraction test(SBET) were carried out to analysis of the soil, and scanning electron micrograph(SEM) analysis was carried out to compare the morphology and structure of ZVI and SRS before and after reacting with arsenic in the soil. As a result, ZVI and SRS were shown 93%, 62% reduction of As concentration respectively by comparison with untreated soils. Therefore, if ZVI and SRS are used as treatment materials in As-contaminated soils, it is expected that the As leaching from soils is reduced effectively.

The purpose of this research is to secure fundamental data on the application of fibre as a fire resistance method for more than 60 MPa high-strength concrete through an examination of mechanical properties and fire resistance performance. The results are as follows: 1) When there are less than 0.5~1.0kg/$m^3$ contents of PP and NY fibre for 60MPa and less high strength concrete, 1.0kg/$m^3$ contents of PP and NY fibre for less than 80MPa high strength concrete and 1.5kg/$m^3$ contents of NY fibre for more than 80MPa high strength concrete, the effect of fibre contents on workability and strength development is not significant. 2) Based on the result of a 3-hour fire resistance test for mock-up column, it is necessary to secure 50 mm of covering depth for the regulation of fire resistance performance of high strength concrete to the standards of The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. 3) It is necessary to secure more than 400mm of column size for stable fire resistance performance.

In this study, we have completed the simulation and optimization work for the deethanizer column which was used for natural gas processing plant or saturated gas plant in a petrochemical process. An optimal feed stage location which minimizes the reboiler heat duty was determined. For the modeling of deethanizer, PRO/II with PROVISION was used and Soave modified Redlich-Kwong equation of state model was selected. Through this study, we have found that the minimum number of stage and minimum reflux ratio for separation were 9.03 and 0.62437, respectively and the theoretical stage number was 12, optimal feed stage location was 9 and minimum reboiler heat duty was $12.7470{\times}10^6\;KJ/hr$.

A large equilibrium and kinetic data set for multi-component cation exchanges was obtained and tested with mass action law and surface complexation model. The systematic batch equilibrium and column experiments of cation adsorption were conducted for binary, ternary, quaternary, and quinary cation exchanges involving $ H^{+}, Li^ {+}, Na^{+}, NH$_4$^{+}, Mg^{2+} $ on a strongly acidic cation exchange resin IRN 77. The mass action law and surface complexation model were tested against both data set to investigate the consistency of ion selectivity and their predictability for competitive cation exchanges. Surface complexation model provided more accurate predictions for both equilibrium and kinetic experimental data than mass action model.

In January 2018, the Ministry of Education published "Seismic design criteria for school buildings" and "Manual for seismic performance evaluation and retrofit of school buildings" to evaluate seismic performances through linear analysis. This paper evaluates the seismic performance of an old school building through the linear analysis. The target building was constructed in the late 1970s, and the seismic-force-resisting system was assumed to be a reinforced concrete moment frame with an un-reinforced masonry wall. As a result of the evaluation, the target building does not satisfy the 'life safety' level of 1.2 times the design spectrum. The average strength ratio of moment frames, an indicator of the level of seismic performance tends to be controlled by beams. However, through the Pohang earthquake, it was known that the short column effect caused by the partially infilled masonry wall caused shear failure of the columns in school buildings. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the linear analysis so that the column controls the average strength ratio of moment frames.
