MOLIT (Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) authorized Indoor Spatial Information as Basic spatial information in 2013. It became a legal evidence for constructing and managing Indoor Spatial Information. Although it has a little advantage to utilize as service level that Indoor Spatial Information by laser scan or measurement, it has a lot of problems such as consuming many resources, requiring additional progresses for inputting Object Information. In conclusion, it is inefficient to utilize for the maintenance and domestic AEC/FM field. The purposes of this study is to output Indoor Spatial Information by operating IFC model which based on open BIM and to improve availability of Indoor Spatial Information with data visualization. The open-sources of IFC Exporter, a inner program of Revit (Autodesk Inc), is used to output Indoor Spatial Information. Directs 3D Library is also operated to visualize Indoor Spatial Information. It is possible to inter-operate between XML format and the objects of Indoor Spatial Information. It can be utilized in various field as well. For example COBie linkage in facility management, construction of geo-database using air-photogrammetry of UAV (Unmaned Areal Vehicle), the simulation of large-scale military operations and the simulation of large-scale evacuation. The method that is purposed in this study has outstanding advantages such as conformance with national spatial information policy, high level of interoperability as indoor spatial information objects based on IFC, convenience of editing information, light level of data and simplifying progress of producing information.
As the number of people who live indoor space has been increased, the interest in 3D indoor spatial information has been grown. Object-Oriented 3D indoor space modeling including indoor spatial information has performed in level of detail 4, and modeling data is able to be constructed based on various raw data which are as-built drawing, laser scanning, BIM data, and camera. 3D indoor space modeling has been worked based on established indoor space modeling process, and the result can be used for various application fields such as indoor space pedestrian navigation, facility management, disaster management, and so on. However, the modeling process has limitations to perform indoor space modeling efficiently, because the process is complicated and wastes time at modeling work. In this paper, we propose evaluation on practical use of raw data for 3D indoor space modeling purpose on supporting efficient indoor space modeling through analyzing the established process. Therefore, we define the requirements to evaluate the practical use of raw data and propose the verification method. In addition, as-built drawing which has been used in Seoul 3D indoor space modeling project will be applied to proposed method as a raw data.

As the interest in indoor space increases, the demands for various services based on indoor space is increasing. With the demands, to construct spatial information for indoor space is also required, but there is not defined the LOD(Level of Detail) for indoor spatial data. Therefore, in this paper we classified data for indoor space data construction, and then we defined the accuracy and detail about the level of detail to provide suitable application services according to the type and representation method of each data. Most previous researches are focus on the geometrical representation, but in this paper we define a indoor LOD model based on type and representation method of data. In addition, we present applicable services with proposed LOD model and suggest a guideline for construction and application of indoor space.
Recently indoor navigation with indoor map such as Indoor Google Maps is served. For the services, constructing indoor data are required. CityGML and IFC are widely used as standards for representing indoor data. The data models contains spatial information for the indoor visualization and analysis, but indoor navigation requires semantic and topological information like graph as well as geometry. For this reason, IndoorGML, which is a GML3 application schema and data model for representation, storage and exchange of indoor geoinformation, is under standardization of OGC. IndoorGML can directly describe geometric property and refer elements in external documents. Because a lot of data in CityGML or IFC have been constructed, a huge amount of construction time and cost for IndoorGML data will be reduced if CityGML can help generate data in IndoorGML. Thus, this paper suggest practical use of CityGML including deriving from and link to CityGML. We analyze relationships between IndoorGML and CityGML. In this paper, issues and solutions for linkage of IndoorGML and CityGML are addressed.

Currently used 3D models, which are mostly focused on visualization of 3D objects and lack topological structure, have limitation in being used for 3D spatial analyses and applications. However, implementing a full topology for the indoor spatial objects is less practical due to the increase of complexity and computation time. This study suggests an alternative method to build a 3D indoor model with less complexity using a spatial DBMS. Storing spatial and nonspatial information of indoor spaces in DB tables enables faster queries, computation and analyses. Also it is possible to display them in 2D or 3D using the queried information. This study suggests a 2D-3D hybrid data model, which combines the 2D topology constructed from CAD floor plans and stored in a spatial DBMS and the 3D visualization functionality. This study showed the process to build the proposed model in a spatial DBMS and use spatial functions and queries to visualize in 2D and 3D. And, then, as an example application, it illustrated the process to build an indoor evacuation simulator.

As human beings spend more time indoors, and with the growing complexity of indoor spaces, more focus is given to indoor spatial applications and services. 3D topological networks are used for various spatial applications that involve navigation indoors such as emergency evacuation, indoor positioning, and visualization. Manually generating indoor network data is impractical and prone to errors, yet current methods in automation need expensive sensors or datasets that are difficult and expensive to obtain and process. In this research, a methodology for semi-automatically generating a 3D indoor topological model based on IndoorGML (Indoor Geographic Markup Language) is proposed. The concept of Shooting Point is defined to accommodate the usage of omnidirectional images in generating IndoorGML data. Omnidirectional images were captured at selected Shooting Points in the building using a fisheye camera lens and rotator and indoor spaces are then identified using image processing implemented in Python. Relative positions of spaces obtained from CAD (Computer-Assisted Drawing) were used to generate 3D node-relation graphs representing adjacency, connectivity, and accessibility in the study area. Subspacing is performed to more accurately depict large indoor spaces and actual pedestrian movement. Since the images provide very realistic visualization, the topological relationships were used to link them to produce an indoor virtual tour.

Recently, importance of indoor space is on the rise, as larger and more complex buildings are taking place due to development of building technology. Accordingly, range of the target area of spatial information service is rapidly expanding from outdoor space to indoor space. Various demands for indoor spatial information are expected to be created in the future through development of high technologies such as IT Mobile and convergence with various area. Thus this research takes a look at available methods for building indoor spatial information and then builds high accuracy three-dimensional indoor spatial information using indoor high accuracy laser survey and 3D vector process technique. The accuracy of built 3D indoor model is evaluated by overlap analysis method refer to a digital map, and the result showed that it could guarantee its positional accuracy within 0.04m on the x-axis, 0.06m on the y-axis. This result could be used as a fundamental data for building indoor spatial data and for integrated use of indoor and outdoor spatial information.
Objectives Despite increasing availability of global positioning system (GPS), no research has been conducted to analyze GPS data for exposure opportunities associated with time at indoor and outdoor microenvironments. We developed location-based and time-weighted spatial measures that incorporate indoor and outdoor time-location data collected by GPS. Methods Time-location data were drawn from 38 female subjects in California who wore a GPS device for seven days. Ambient standard deviational ellipse was determined based on outdoor locations and time duration, while indoor time weighted standard deviational ellipse (SDE) was developed to incorporate indoor and outdoor times and locations data into the ellipse measure. Results Our findings indicated that there was considerable difference in the sizes of exposure potential measures when indoor time was taken into consideration, and that they were associated with day type (weekday/weekend) and employment status. Conclusions This study provides evidence that time-location weighted measure may provide better accuracy in assessing exposure opportunities at different microenvironments. The use of GPS likely improves the geographical details and accuracy of time-location data, and further development of such location-time weighted spatial measure is encouraged.

There is a growing interest in ubiquitous-related research and applications. Among them, GPS-based LBS have been developed and used actively. Recently, with the increase of large size buildings and disastrous events, indoor spaces are getting attention and related research activities are being carried out. Core technologies regarding indoor applications may include 3D indoor data modeling and localization sensor techniques that can integrate with indoor data. However, these technologies have not been standardized and established enough to be applied to indoor implementation. Thus, in this paper, we propose a method to build a relatively simple 3D indoor data modeling technique that can be applied to indoor location based applications. The proposed model takes the form of 2D-based multi-layered structure and has capability for 2D and 3D visualization. We tested three prototype applications using the proposed model; CA(cellular automata)-based 3D evacuation simulation, network-based routing, and indoor moving objects tracking using a stereo camera.

In the field of domestic construction, 3D modeling mainly targets outdoor construction sites, and acquires outdoor spatial information by operating UAVs and UGVs equipped with cameras. 3D modeling of construction sites tends to expand its scope to indoors along with the increasing demand for site monitoring and management through indoor spatial information. In the case of indoors, it is impossible to shoot with a drone after the framework and outer walls of the building are completed, so it is necessary to collect indoor spatial information and 3D modeling using a 360 camera. The purpose of this study is limited to basic research to establish a process that can obtain simple and high-quality indoor 3D modeling results using indoor data collected from 360 cameras.
