In this study, the subjects were couples living in Seoul or Gyeonggi Province. The data collection period was November 20 to December 20, 2009, and data ond 184 couples were collected and used for the analysis. The SPSS 17.0 program was used for the analysis. The main findings of this study are as follows: First, the husbands' marital satisfaction was higher than that of the wives. And the variables of spousal support, alternative comparison level and marital dissolution disability were also found to be statistically significant according to gender. Second, it was confirmed that the self-variables had a greater effect than partner variables on couples' marital satisfaction. Third, the influential factors of the marital satisfaction of husbands and wives depended on the individual resource variables (self-esteem, health of origin of family, parenting efficacy), the couple relationship variables (spousal support, spousal similarity, recovery attempts), and the level of marital alternatives.

The presence of traditional human resources management instruments, which include the aspects of job analysis, selection training, and even development, has been used frequently for many years in organizations. This study aims to investigate the relationship between employee reading habits and their innovativeness. Research design, data and methodology: The research methodology applied in this case is qualitative research methods. It is a method that involves the collection of data from non-numerical formats. The technique helped in understanding the relationship that exists between the reading habits of the employees and the competencies of innovation. Results: The present researchers figured out the meaningful connection between the independent variable (Reading Habit and dependent variable (Innovative Competency), explaining 'The Reason Why Employees Should Read More Books' and 'How Organizations Promote the Reading Habits of Employees'. Conclusions: It is clear that with reading habits among employees, innovation is easily achieved since these employees know their goals, how to achieve these objectives and overcome any challenge that might hinder innovation. Organizational management should work towards fostering positive reading cultures among employees in organizations.

  • This study analyzes the effects of caring for grandchildren on Korean grandparents' health, using the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging from 2006 to 2012. We investigate how caregiving is provided and analyze the effects of caregiving on grandparents' physical health, mental health, and health-related behaviors. As elderly people's health is generally frail, it is unclear whether the provision of childcare affects their health negatively. We control for the endogeneity of caregiving by an individual fixed effect (FE) model and instrumental variable-fixed effect (FE-IV) models. Using these models, we determine the endogeneity of caregiving and show that the significant effects of caregiving on health disappear as we control for endogeneity in the FE and FE-IV models. Even after controlling for endogeneity, we find that caregiving increases the probability of feeling pain as well as the number of different types of pain. Furthermore, caregiving increases the probability of restrictions on daily activities because of pain. On the other hand, caregiving reduces the symptoms of depression. In relation to health-related behaviors, caregiving reduces the probability of physical exercise and regular meals. Our results imply that although caregiving has a positive effect on mental health, the increase in physical pain and in non-healthy behaviors may lead to a deterioration of the caregiver's long-term health, which in turn may increase the medical costs of the elderly. Potential policy alternatives are discussed in the paper.

  • This study was conducted to suggest a direction in which safety managers can concentrate on industrial accident prevention and safety management for the organization. The job resources of safety managers were divided into organizational and individual levels, and the magnitude of the impact on organizational commitment was compared. Furthermore, job demands were classified into environmental risk factors and personal psychological factors to confirm their effect on organizational commitment. The moderating effect of job resources and sub-factors of the variable in the relationship between job demands and organizational commitment was verified. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 193 safety managers in the domestic electric construction business, data were collected, and a questionnaire of 180 people was used for the final analysis. Based on the results, organization-level resources among the sub-factors of job resources and individual psychological factors among the sub-factors of job demand had a more significant influence on organizational commitment. In the relationship between job resources and organizational commitment, the moderating effect of job demand was verified, confirming that job demand had a negative moderating effect. Individual psychological factors had a modulating effect, whereas environmental factors did not. The significance, implications, and limitations of this study are discussed based on the research results.

  • This research aimed to explore the relationship between the challenge and enjoyment dimensions of intrinsic motivation and employee creativity at an individual level. Besides, the study focused on investigating the moderating role of empowering leadership in promoting employee creativity at work. In particular, in the context of Vietnam's electricity industry, the power generation stage faces significant challenges, forcing to innovate and restructure strongly to respond flexibly to the requirements of the electricity market development in Vietnam as well as gradually integrate with other countries in Southeast Asia. The authors used structural equations modeling (SEM) combined with Hayes' moderator variable analysis method (2017) based on primary data. The data included 550 questionnaires from technicians, engineers, and experts directly involved in the operation and production of 36 power generation businesses Vietnam. The results showed the relationship between the enjoyment dimension of intrinsic motivation and employee creativity is not statistically significant, which partly explains the instability of the link between intrinsic motivation and employee creativity. Meanwhile, the challenge dimension is positively associated with employee creativity, but this relationship is more robust in empowering leadership. The study also indicated the challenge dimension of intrinsic motivation is an important predictor of employee creativity.
