  • This paper aims at developing an efficient method that extracts building using local spatial association of raw LiDAR data without setting up empirical variables such as a minimum building area, and applying the method to survey data to evaluate the efficiency of that. To do this, LISA(Local Indicatiors of Spatial Association) statistics are used which reflect local variations that can be appeared in the research area. It can be also a preprocess that detects spatial outliers through the significance test of LISA statistics and interpolate using kernel estimation. Boundaries of buildings as well as buildings can be extracted based on quadrant of Moran Scatterplot. Experimental results show that the proposed method is promising in extracting buildings from LiDAR data automatically.

  • Purpose: The purpose was to examine the level of perceived stress, lifestyle, and health status indicators and identify the relationships among them in medical center employees. Method: This study utilized data from Cohen's Perceived Stress Scale, health survey developed by National Health Insurance Corporation, and laboratory tests (such as liver enzyme or lipid profile) on 873 medical center employees. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program through descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$, independent t-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results: Perceived stress was relatively high, but lifestyle and health status indicators were good. Age, gender, and job were significantly related to perceived stress, life style, and health status indicators: younger employees, men, nurses reported higher stress; older employees, men and medical technicians reported worse life style; older employees, men and doctors showed more abnormal health status indicators. There was a significant relationship between perceived stress and life style: the higher the level of stress was, the more drinking or the more smoking they had. However, there was no clear relationship between perceived stress and health status indicators. Conclusion: Although the subjects' lifestyle and health status indicators were relatively good, their perceived stress was seriously high. Therefore, programs for reducing stress are necessary for medical center employees.

  • The possibility of using a fluorescence probe technique for the study of ibuprofenlysine binding to human and bovine serum albumin was investigated. 1-anilino-8-naphalenesulfonate was used as the probe. The number of binding sites of human and bovine serum albumins for ibuprofenlysine appears to be 4 and 2, respectively. By using this technique, the association constants were found to be $1.533{\times}10^{4}M^{-1}$ and $2.238{\times}10^{4}M^{-1}$, respectively.

  • Evaluation in both an art and a science. The art of evaluation involves working with the management to agree upon purpose and users of results, creating design and gathering information that are appropriate for a specific situation and a particular policy making context. The value of evaluating extension p개grams has received a lot of attentions recently, and many extension educations see evaluation as an integral part of their work. The science of evaluation involves determining standards and developing indicatiors, selecting methods appropriate to gather information in a systematic way, analyzing information to assist in determining the value of the program in an objective manner. First, extension specialists have to consider relative merits about methods of gathering evaluation data. Selection of method should be influenced by the type of information desired, time availability, and cost of using the method. Second, good evaluations involve stakeholders at all stages including planning, implementation, and utilization of results. Third, far from being an "add-on ," evaluation begins with the initial planning of an educational program. Fourth, it is important for extension specialists that although evaluation is valuable and essential in any effective program, one of the biggest mistakes of extension program evaluators in to promise results that cannot possibly solve all the problems of project.

  • Business Intelligence(BI) is being used by the individuals who make decisions for management. Dashboard supports business intelligence by visualizing data, information, and knowledge so that they can be grasped at a glance. In this study, applications of dashboard were analyzed in the ARL libraries websites. Furthermore, the study suggested methods to establish and use the information system of the business intelligence and dashboard on the academic library websites in Korea. The findings of this study are expected to serve as the basic data to utilize the business intelligence and dashboard as a tool with which Korean academic libraries can demonstrate their value to the stakeholders in the academic community.

  • This paper proposes an automatic segmentation method of cortical bone and trabecular bone and describes an implementation of structural analysis method of trabecular bone in micro-CT images. The proposed segmentation method extract bone region with binarization using a threshold value. Next, it finds adjacent contour lines from outer boundary line into inward direction and sets candidate regions of cortical bone. Next it remove cortical bone region by finding the candidate cortical region of which the average pixel value is maximum. We implemented the method which computes four structural indicators BV/TV, Tb.Th, Tb.Sp, Tb.N by using VTK(Visualization ToolKit) and sphere fitting algorithm. We applied the implemented method to twenty proximal femur of mouses and compared with the manual segmentation method. Experimental result shows that the average error rates between the proposed segmentation method and the manual segmentation method are less than 3% for the four structural indicatiors. This result means that the proposed method can be used instead of the combersome and time consuming manual segmentation method.

  • The physical properties of pH, turbidity, TDS and salt contents in the stream water near the entrance of Woonjcongdong sanitary landfill area with a drainage pipe are higher than those in neighbored drainage system, but DO it lower than that in neighbored drainage system blue to the eutrophication. In the ground water, pH, turbidity, TDS and salt contents at A ,F and C where may be under effect of the Woonjeongdong sanitary landfill area, are also shown higher values in contrast to other groundwater site, like B , D , and E , Particularly, the groundwater in A , F and C are plotted in Na-Cl type (If the piper diagram, which is an another important prolf of the contaminapion by the leachate and washing water from the Woonjeongdong sanitary landfill area. Some elements and physical properties of the waters in rainy season are desplayed a clear characteristics of contaminaton, compared to the theose of winter in thes study. Elements such as Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cl,$SO_4^{2-} , \;and \;F^-$) are accompanied well with each other by the result of water in the vicinity of landfillarea.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop community design evaluation factors for sustainable urban regeneration and to suggest considerations for sustainable community design by analyzing excellent community design cases. Through literature review, previous studies on the concept and core items of sustainable urban regeneration, and the concept and components of community design were considered. In addition, evaluation indicators for sustainable community design were developed in the socio-economic, physical, environmental, historical and cultural dimensions through the analysis of the linkage with the evaluation factors of community design through the analysis of previous studies. The evaluation index consists of 3 evaluation items and 9 items including social performance and participation at the social level, economic feasibility at the economic level, environmental characteristics at the physical and environmental level, accessibility, contextuality, locality at the historical and cultural level, identity, and artistry. Includes dog evaluation factors. Reliability and effectiveness are secured through the developed evaluation index and detailed description and expert verification. Exploratory factor analysis and expert interviews were conducted through the survey, and as a result of the analysis, the stability and Cronbach'α coefficients were verified, and the validity of the community design evaluation index considering sustainable urban regeneration was recognized through expert interview. The results of this study are considered meaningful in that they can provide basic data for the improvement of community design for sustainable urban regeneration in the future.
