  • Increasing number of corporations applies IT service management systems to optimize IT service delivery and support processes. For this reason, implementation experiences and effect of IT service management system are growing concerns for IT managers and researchers. This case study analyzes implementation experiences on an ITIL based service management systems in an medium sized corporation. The exploratory case analysis revealed that systems and service quality were improved from the implementation. This study will contribute to the successful implementation of IT service management system and developing a research model of IT service management process.

  • Recently, as the importance of IT management is increasing, many companies have adopted ITSM(IT Service Management) as a solution to various IT management issues. In addition, some advanced companies are using 6 Sigma technique in their implementation of ITSM. The main purpose of this study is to analyze critical success factors of 6 Sigma in applying to the implementation of ITSM. For a case company, which is known to be successful in applying 6 sigma in its implementation of ITSM, six critical success factors were analyzed. The factors include leadership of CEO, capability and level of 6 Sigma belts, management of accurate data, building organizational systems, training and education, and evaluation and incentive. The results of the study are expected to be used as an useful information for companies to apply 6 Sigma in the implementation of ITSM.

  • Under concentrational paste and dilute suspension systems, we have been tested the effects in the dosage of two superplasticizers [naphtalenic(NSF) and polycarboxylic(NT-2)] which has been varied from 0 to 2.0 wt%, in both one case of cement Ⅱ-anhydrite and fly ash itself and the other case that cement has been substituted 10wt% to Ⅱ-anhydrite and fly ash. The result of tested zeta potential tells that zeta potential values increase in addition to increasing of the NSF dosage. And it's effect was high in case of fly ash. We has confirmed the 10wt% substitution of Ⅱ -anhydrite and fly ash would be more effective than the cement itself in initial fluidity and stable fluidity. And in case of NT-2 and NSF, addition of 1.0wt% NT-2 improved the fluidity of paste cement more than that for NSF.

  • Based on the analysis of the actual passenger vehicle fire cases for recent four years (2010~2013), the passenger vehicle fire is increasing annually. Main root cause was analyzed as an electric problem as a 39%. Vehicle fire case by electric problem was mainly caused by use of Non-genuine part. Vehicle fire case by mechanical problem was mainly caused by various oil system maintenance. Vehicle fire case by smoking material was mainly caused by cigarette and disposal lighter. And external fire transition issue and towing mistake fire cases was also confirmed.

  • Increasing success in the management of patients with severe respiratory failure by mechanical respirators has produced iatrogenic tracheal stenosis. And the surgical management of these lesions have provided a major field for tracheal reconstructive surgery. Recently we have experienced three cases of postintubation tracheal stenosis between December, 1985 and October, 1987 and successfully performed circumferential resection and end to end anastomosis of the trachea. The lesion of the first case which was located in the subcricoid level was resected about 2cm length with cervical incision. And the lesion of the second case located at the cuff site was also resected about 2.5cm length with cervical and median sternotomy incision. Also the lesion of the third case located at the stoma site was resected about 1.8cm length with cervical incision. The postoperative courses were uneventful but there was extubation difficulty in the third case because of stupor mentality and problem of secretion excretion. So we have observed the postoperative course after T-tube insertion.

Development and Evaluation for Improvement of the Sound Insulation of Balcony Window in Apartment (차음성능 향상을 위한 발코니 창호의 개발 및 평가)

  • Recently, the interest on the comfortable dwelling environment is increasing and the effort to solve the problem of exterior noise was tried. The propose of this study is to suggest the design of balcony window in apartment and to evaluate the sound insulation of it. So, we designed five types of balcony window which were considered not only sound insulation but ventilation. The sound reduction index of window was evaluated by the measurement in mock-up room. The results showed that case 2 improved about 6 dB in the weighted apparent sound reduction index than case 1, and case 3 reduced about $39 \%$ in construction cost than case 4.

  • The use of Spectra fibers as fiber cloth is increasing because of their excellent impact resistance. However, a major limitation on the use of Spectra fibers is a chemical inertness. In this Study, Spectra fibers were surface-treated using Ar$^{+}$ ion beam under oxygen environment to improve the tensile property of Spectra/vinylester composites. The effect of surface treatment of Spectra fibers on the tensile property of Spectra/vinylester composites was determined from tensile tests using Spectra/vinylester composite specimens with and without a hole. It was found that the tensile stiffness and strength of surface-treated case were 22% and 17% higher than those of untreated case for specimens with no hole. The maximum load of surface-treated case was about 15% higher than that of untreated case for specimens with a hole.

  • The train control and monitoring system(TCMS) is an on board computer system in railway vehicles performing the control, supervisory and diagnostic functions of the complete train. This system replaces a lot of hardwired relays and minimizes the necessaries vehicle wiring thus increasing the reliability of the train. In this paper, we proposed a software design technique of TCMS using CASE tool (SAO+). The TCMS functions are implemented in software easily programmed, using a functional block, graphic programming language. We applied the compressor air module to a case study.

  • The increasing number of studies published on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia has improved our knowledge of the disease itself and its complications. Despite a considerable number of publications on COVID-19 pneumonia-associated pneumothorax, no article on spontaneous hemopneumothorax has been found in the English-language literature. According to published case reports, pneumothorax generally occurs in hospitalized patients during treatment, whereas cases that arise in the late period after discharge are exceptional. Herein, we present a case of spontaneous hemopneumothorax occurring as a late complication of COVID-19 pneumonia on day 17 after discharge.
