A study on method of setting up the defense integrated security system (군 통합보안시스템 구축 방안 연구)

  • A established military security tast based on existing manual and off-line needs the change and development to support effective and systematic task performance according to environment change of informational and scientific project in the military. Therefore this study suggests to set up the standard model of the defense integrated security system to automate and informationize major defense security task based on actual and problem in the area of major defense of security task and case analysis of these in America, England and other countries. The standard model consist of unit systems were made up integrated security system, security management system, man entrance system, vehicle entrance system, high-tech guard system, terror prevention system and the security accident analysis system, and this suggested model based on possible technology and system. If this model is apply to each real military unit, we will expect the development of defense security.

  • After spacecraft is separated from the launch vehicle, first of all spacecraft deploy the solar array. Solar array deployment is one of the key factors deciding the success of the spacecraft mission. Therefore, It is necessary to predict the solar array deployment motion and check the safety through calculating the load on the tape hinges of solar array using the deployment analysis in the initial design phase. In this paper, solar array deployment analysis is performed by multi-body dynamics simulation program. From the analysis results, assessment on the safety also is carried out. In addition, hinge characteristic test is fulfilled to find out hinge characteristic, and is applied to the deployment analysis.

  • The recent automobiles, a number of ECU inside the vehicle has been used. Also, each ECU is connected to different types of networks in accordance with the characteristics. Therefore, efficient data exchange between discrete network has emerged as a very important element. The gateway is responsible for the ability to exchange data between discrete network. In this study, we propose the new gateway algorithm to provide the structure of the mapping table to improve the efficiency of data exchange between discrete network. Also it provides a structure of a new gateway algorithm with a function of adjusting the priority of the data to be transmitted to another network arbitrarily. Moreover, the proposed gateway structure may simultaneously convert the transmission data input from a particular network to multiple networks. Another advantage is easy to change the entire data structure only if we change the table structure in the gateway.

Design of a Real-time Algorithm for the Recognition of Speed Limit Signs Using DCT Coefficients (DCT 계수를 이용한 속도 제한 표지판 인식 실시간 알고리듬의 설계)

  • This paper proposes a real-time algorithm of recognizing speed limit signs for intelligent vehicles. Contrary to previous works which use all the pixel values in the ROI (Region Of Interest) after preprocessing image at ROI and need a lot of operations, the proposed algorithm uses fewer DCT coefficients in the ROI as features of each image to reduce the number of operations. Choosing a portion of DCT coefficients which satisfy discriminant criteria for recognition, the proposed algorithm recognizes the speed limit signs using the information obtained in the selected features through LDA and MD. It selects one having the highest probability among the recognition results calculated by accumulating the classification results of consecutive individual frames. Experimental results show that the recognition rate for consecutive frames reaches to 100% with test images. When compared with the previous algorithm, the numbers of multiply and add operations are reduced by 58.6% and 38.3%, respectively.

Research on Performance Analysis for the Long Distance Air-Ground Wideband Common Data Link (장거리 공중-지상 채널환경에서 대용량 데이터링크의 수신성능 분석방법 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyze the channel characteristics of the long distance air-ground wideband common data link and we propose a mathematical method to analyze the effect of narrowband and wideband interference of air-ground channel on the received signal of wideband data link. In this paper, we analyze the reception performance according to the communication distance using the proposed performance analysis method, and found out that the communication distance is limited by the narrowband and wideband interference of ground reflection wave. As a result of the performance analysis of the method of controlling the receiving antenna upward, not only the narrow band but also the wideband interference is effectively reduced, so that the communication distance is increased even in the existing wideband data link not including the equalizer.

Empirical Propagation Path Loss Model for ATC Telecommunication in the Concourse Environment (콘코스 환경에서 항공 정보통신의 실험적인 전파 경로 모델에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we studied the path loss model of Air Traffic Control(ATC) telecommunication radio channel at the Incheon International Airport(IIA) concourse area. We measured wave propagation characteristics on the two frequencies among VHF/UHF channel bands. The transmitting site radiated the Continuous Wave(CW). The propagation measurement was taken using the moving vehicle equipped with receiver and antenna. The transmitting power, frequency, and antenna height are the same as the current operating condition. The path loss exponent and intercept parameters were extracted by the basic path loss model and hata model. The path loss exponents at Concourse area were 3.1/3.13 and 3.01/3.38 respectively in 128.2MHz and 269.1MHz. The deviation of prediction error is 2.77/3.17 and 4.01/3.66. The new path loss equation at the Concourse area was also developed using the derived path loss parameters. The new path loss model was compared with other models. This result will be helpful for the ATC site selection and service quality evaluation.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using communications, sensors, and navigation equipment will play a key role in future warfare. Currently, UAVs are monitored to prevent misfire and accidents, and the conventional method adopted uses wires for data transmission and power supply. The repeated connection and disconnection of cables increases maintenance time and harms the connector. For convenience and stability, a wireless power transfer system to power UAVs is needed. Unlike other wireless power transfer (WPT) applications, the size of the receiving coils must be small, so that the WPT systems can be embedded inside space-limited UAVs. The small size reduces the coupling coefficient and transfer efficiency between the transmitting and the receiving coils. In this study, we propose a toroidal-shaped coil for a WPT system for UAVs with high coupling coefficient with minimum space requirements. For validation, conventional coils and the proposed toroidal-shaped coil were used and their coupling coefficient and power transfer efficiency were compared using simulated and measured results. The simulated and measured results were strongly correlated, confirming that the proposed WPT system significantly improved efficiency with negligible change in the space requirement.

  • Path driving tests are necessary for the development of self-driving cars or robots. These tests are being conducted in simulation as well as real environments. In particular, for development using reinforcement learning and deep learning, development through simulators is also being carried out when data of various environments are needed. To this end, it is necessary to utilize not only manually designed paths but also various randomly and automatically designed paths. This test site design can be used for actual construction and manufacturing. In this paper, we introduce a method for randomly generating a driving test path consisting of a combination of arcs and segments. This consists of a method of determining whether there is a collision by obtaining the distance between an arc and a line segment, and an algorithm that deletes part of the path and recreates an appropriate path if it is impossible to continue the path.

  • Recently drones have become popular enough to be one of the hobby. The drone refers to an unmanned aerial vehicle which can fly and be steered by a radio wave without a pilot and it has a airplane or helicopter shape. The drone was first started to be used from military purpose, but its usage has been expanded to the private such as construction site, crop-dusting, field discovery, freight shipping and drones to prevent cheating. However the drone that we can see often in the market is expansive, hard to be repaired when it broken down and has a discomfort of the short flight time. In this paper, to solve an uncomfortable talk on the cheap 8-bits microcontrollers ATmega128 Using drone for implementation. Receiver input them into transmitter signals of movements to control drone c the programming was implemented in on the basis of language. drone using ATmega128 microcontroller is possible hovering, By utilizing a pin that are not required for control it can be used as a drone for a variety of uses.

  • DSRC((Dedicated Short Range Communication) is dedicated short range communication for wireless communications between RSE(Road Side Equipment) and OBE(On-Board Unit) within vehicle moving high speed. In this paper, we implemented 5.8GHz DSRC modem according to Korea TTA(Telecommunication Technology Association) standard and investigated implementation results and design process for SoC(System on a Chip) embedding ARM CPU which control overall signal and process arithmetic work. The SoC is implemented by 0.11um design technology and 480pins EPBGA package. In the implemented SoC ($Jaguar^{TM}$), 5.8GHz DSRC PHY(Physical Layer) modem and MAC are designed and included. For CPU core ARM926EJ-S is embedded, and LCD controller, smart card controller, ethernet MAC, and memory controller are designed as main function.
