  • The maximum zero error probability (MZEP) algorithm outperforms MSE (mean squared error)-based algorithms in impulsive noise environment. The magnitude controlled input (MCI) which is inherent in that algorithm is known to plays the role in keeping the algorithm undisturbed from impulsive noise. In this paper, a new approach to normalize the step size of the MZEP with average power of the MCI is proposed. In the simulation under impulsive noise with the impulse incident rate of 0.03, the performance enhancement in steady state MSE of the proposed algorithm, compared to the MZEP, is shown to be by about 2 dB.

  • The error rate equation of MSK(Minimum Shift Keying) signal transmitted through the fading channel has been derived in the interference and impulsive noise environments. The error rate performance of MSK system have been evaluated and shown in figures as parameters of carrier-to-noise power ratio(CNR), carrier-to-interferer power ratio(CIR), impulsive index, the ratio of Gaussian noise power component to impulsive noise power component, and fading figure. The results show that, in the fading environment, the error is occurred more frequently by Gaussian noise in the deep fading, however in the shallow fading, impulsive noise is more dominant than Gaussian noise. And in thepresence of interference and fading, interferer deteriorates the MSK receiving system severely even if the interferer is weak.

  • For the time integration solution of the impulsive dynamic contact problem of high-speed rotating disks formulated by the finite element technique, the velocity and acceleration contact constraints as well as the displacement contact constraint are imposed for the numerical stability without spurious oscillations. The solution of the present technique is checked by the numerical simulation using the concentric high-speed rotating disks with the clearance and impulsive loading. It is shown that the almost steady state solution agrees with the corresponding analytical solution of the elasticity and that the differentiated constraints are crucial for the numerical stability of such high-speed contact problems of the disks under impulsive loading.

  • Purpose: This study determines the effect of spending distribution, namely experiential, impulsive, self-expressive, prosocial, and conspicuous spending, on the financial well-being of young working women in Malaysia. Research design, data and methodology: This study employed a quantitative and deductive approach. A sample of 400 young working women was selected using a systematic sampling technique. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM). Results: The findings revealed prosocial and impulsive spending as the significant spending distribution to affect financial well-being. The effect of prosocial spending is positive on financial well-being, while the effect of impulsive spending is a negative predictor of financial well-being. All other spending distribution - experiential, self-expressive, and conspicuous spending - do not have a significant effect on financial well-being. Conclusion: To achieve financial well-being, young working women need to distribute the spending budget for the happiness of others and reduce impulse buying. The findings provide useful insights on the significant role of spending distribution in influencing, how to fuel young working women to develop good spending habits that consequently improve their financial well-being, for themselves and Malaysian economics, as well as the plausible solution to overcome financial problems and high indebtedness.

  • Transient heat transfer caused by an impulsive heating in subcooled liquid nitrogen is investigated experimentally. This study is part of out ongoing efforts directed to a stable cryogenic cooling system lot superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL). A thin heater attached by epoxy on one surface of a GFRP plate is immersed in liquid-nitrogen bath at temperatures between 77 K and 55 K. A strong heat flux up to $150W/cm^2$ is generated lot 100 ms, and the temperature of the heater sulfate is measured as a function of time. The behavior of bubbles on the heating surface can be explained by comparing the measured temperature history for vertical and two horizontal (up and down) orientations. It is concluded that the subcooling of liquid nitrogen below 70 K is very effective in suppressing bubbles, resulting in better thermal protection and faster recovery from an impulsive heat.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore how experiential factors in sportswear stores influenced store satisfaction, brand preference, and purchase intention among potential consumers, and to reveal the moderating effects of impulsive buying. The subjects of this study were 306 male and female adults in their 20s and 30s, who had visited sports brand stores within the past year. To analyze the data, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, structural model analysis and path analysis were performed. The results of this study were as follows. First, there is a strong relationship between store satisfaction and experiential factors in sportswear apparel stores. All experiential factors significantly influenced store satisfaction in a positive direction. Second, consumers' store satisfaction positively influenced on brand preference. Third, consumers' store satisfaction had positive influences on their purchasing intention. Fourth, consumers' impulsive buying tendency showed significant moderating effect on the experiential factors. Consumers with low level of impulsive buying tended to be influenced more by 'think', 'relate', and 'sense' experiential factors on their store satisfaction. However, consumers with a high level of impulsive buying tendency revealed that they were more likely to be influenced by 'act' and 'feel' experiential factors.

  • In this paper, we propose a system model which effectively mitigates impulsive noise that degrades the performance of power line communication. Recently, deep learning have shown effective performance improvement in various fields. In order to mitigate effective impulsive noise, we applied a convolution neural network which is one of deep learning algorithm to conventional system. Also, we used a successive interference cancellation scheme to mitigate impulsive noise generated from multi-users. We simulate the proposed model which can be applied to the power line communication in the Section V. The performance of the proposed system model is verified through bit error probability versus SNR graph. In addition, we compare ZF and MMSE successive interference cancellation scheme, successive interference cancellation with optimal ordering, and successive interference cancellation without optimal ordering. Then we confirm which schemes have better performance.

  • In this paper, the performance improvement of BFSK signal by using diversity reception and coding technique in Rayleigh fading and impulsive noise environments has been evaluated and compared with that in Gaussian noise environment. It is found that as the CNR increases, BFSK signal performance shows an error floor regardless of impulsive noise effects in Rayleigh fading environment. Also diversity reception technique can improve the error performance not only in a Gaussian noise environment but also in a fading and impulsive noise environment. When diversity reception and coding techniques are used together in impulsive noise and Rayleigh fading environment, the improvement of error performance becomes about 11[dB] in terms of CNR as compared with that of only coding technique is applied.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performance of M-ary PSK communication system according to the types of electromagnetic interference in an impulsive noise environment. We have introduced Gaussian, sinusoidal and rectangular waves as a electromagnetic interference. Using the derived equations, we evaluated the error performance of the BPSK and QPSK system in the presence of electromagnetic interference and impulsive noise. From results, we have obtained that the Gaussian wave produced the most significant performance degradation and that sinusoidal wave produced more performance degradation than rectangular wave. Therefore, without knowing the types of electromagnetic interference, it is best to regard it as Gaussian wave when designing a communication system. In addition, we could found out that the error performance degrades as impulsive noise becomes strong and the error performance can not be improved significantly even the electromagnetic interference becomes weak. Therefore, this describes that the impulsive noise affects dominantly to the performance degradation.

  • This research analyzed the peak impulsive force, maximum velocity and a spot of fist's maximum velocity comparing stop-jirugi and push-jirugi. 7 males volunteered for this experiment. peak impulsive force was measured by PS2142 force platform[10], and maximum velocity of fist was measured by PS2103A motion sensor[12]. All of data was collected in the data studio and t-test was applied using SAS 9.1 package. The following conclusions were drawn. First, stop-jirugi's peak impulsive force was greater (P<.01) than that of push-jirugi. Second, push-jirugi's maximum velocity of fist was greater (P<.01) than that of stop-jirugi. Third, stop-jirugi's maximum velocity of fist was occurred on 69.14% of arm's length and that of push-jirugi was occurred on 75.66%. This maximum velocity spot was statistically significant difference(p<.001).
