This study focused on the ecological variables that affect adolescents' runway impulse. For the organisms, self-esteem, impulse control, school achievement and runway experience, for the microsystems, family, school and peer environment, for the mesosystems, family-peer relationships and family-school relationships, and for the exosystem, neighborhood environment were included. The sample consisted of 651 eleventh grade adolescents. Instruments were the Runway Impulse Scale(Nam, 2001) and Index of organisms, microsystems, mesosystems, and exosystem variables. Statistics and methods used for the analysis were Cronbach's alpha, frequency, percentage, t-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple Regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, no sex difference was found in adolescents' runway impulse. Second, runway impulse of male and female adolescents showed positive correlations with runway experience, parental marital conflict, dissatisfactions of school life and exposure to friends with problems behavior but negative correlations with self-esteem, impulse control, school achievement, parental support and supervision, teacher support, family-peer relationships and neighborhood environment. Female adolescents' runway impulse stowed negative correlations with family-school relationships. Third, the most important variable predicting male adolescents' runway impulse was exposure to friends with problems behavior, the most important variable for female was self-esteem.
The twin impulse wave leads to very complicated flow fields, such as Mach stem, spherical waves, and vortex ring. The twin impulse wave discharged from the exits of the two tubes placed in parallel is investigated to understand detailed flow physics associated with the twin impulse wave, compared with those in a single impulse wave. In the current study, the merging phenomena and propagation characteristics of the impulse waves are investigated using a shock tube experiment and by numerical computations. The Harten-Yee's total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme is used to solve the unsteady, two-dimensional, compressible, Euler equations. The Mach number $M_{s}$, of incident shock wave is changed below 1.5 and the distance between two-parallel tubes, L/d, is changed from 1.2 to 4.0. In the shock tube experiment, the twin impulse waves are visualized by a Schlieren optical system for the purpose of validation of computational work. The results obtained show that on the symmetric axis between two parallel tubes, the peak pressure produced by the twin-impulse waves and its location strongly depend upon the distance between two parallel tubes, L/d and the incident shock Mach number, $M_{s}$. The predicted Schlieren images represent the measured twin-impulse wave with a good accuracy.
The present study is to investigate the characteristics of the impulse waves discharged from the exit of the convergent and divergent pipes. An experiment is carried out using a shock tube with an open end and is compared to the computation of the axisymmetric, compressible, unsteady Euler equations, which are solved by the second-order total variation diminishing(TVD) scheme. For the computational work, some initial compression waves are assumed inside the pipe so that those are identical to the experimental ones of the shock tube. The results show that the peak pressures of the impulse waves discharged from the exit of convergent and divergent pipes decrease with an increase in the wavelength of the initial compression wave. All of the impulse waves have a strong directivity toward the pipe axis, regardless of the exit type of the pipe employed. The impulse waves discharged from the divergent pipe are stronger than those from the straight pipe, while the impulse waves of the convergent pipe are weaker than those from the straight pipe. It is believed that the convergent pipe can playa role of a passive control to reduce the peak pressure of the impulse wave. The present computations represent the experimented impulse waves with a good accuracy.
Impulse buying occurs when consumers feel an urge to impulsively buy a product without thoughtful consideration of why and for what reason they need the product. However, few efforts have been made to identify the impacts of perceived scarcity on the impulse buying of fashion products in mobile shopping malls. This study's objectives were to estimate, using structural equation model analysis, the impact of a scarcity message on browsing, feeling the urge to buy, and impulse buying of fashion products on mobile shopping malls. Data was collected from 206 customers who experienced to impulse buying fashion products via objective sampling. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses developed for the study. Results found evident effects of the scarcity message on the impulse buying of fashion products directly and indirectly. Additionally, consumers felt the urge to buy had a significant impact on the impulse buying of fashion products, whereas browsing had little impact on the impulse buying of fashion products. This is an expanded study to examine structural equation modeling of impulse buying of fashion products on mobile shopping malls. These results will contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms that underlie the operation of an effective scarcity strategy for fashion products on mobile shopping malls.
The purpose of this research were to classify college women's clothing shopping orientation and analyze the predictable variables of impulse buying. The results of this research were as follows ; 1. Clothing shopping orientation was classified leisure pursuit, economic, careful and name brand preferring shopping. With reference to leisure pursuit and economic shopping, they were classified into four types, low shopping involved shopping type, economic shopping type, leisure pursuit shopping type, and high shopping involved shopping type. The low shopping-involved and the economic shopping types made much of planned buying. The planned impulse buying, reminder impulse buying, fashion oriented impulse buying and pure impulse buying were highly evaluated in the high-involved and the leisure pursuit shopping types. 3. The high shopping-involved and leisure pursuit shopping types were more likely to do impulse buying than low shopping-involved and the economic shopping types. 4. The most important factor for the four groups was design. Quality, color, utility were followed by design. 5. Impulse buying behaviors of four groups could be predicted by the information source and the marketing stimulus buying.

Digital images are often corrupted by impulse noise, and it is very important to remove random-valued impulse noise. Cleaning such noise is far more difficult than cleaning salt and pepper impulse noise. In this paper, we proposed an efficient way to remove random-valued impulse noise from digital images. This novel method comprises two stages. The first stage is to detect the random-valued impulse noise in the image and the pixels are roughly divided into two classes, which are "noise-free pixel" and "noise pixel". Then, the second stage is to eliminate the random-valued impulse noise from the image. In this stage, only the "noise pixels" are processed. The "noise-free pixels" are copied directly to the output image. Simulation results indicated that our method provides a significant improvement over many other existing algorithms.
Purpose: In an attempt to investigate causes of runaway impulse in male and female students with runaway impulse experience in high schools, this study was carried out. Methods: The subjects were 195 high school students in Gyeonggi and Incheon area. The data were collected by using the questionnaires. Results: To both male and female students, the main causes of runaway impulse were 'conflicts with parents', 'interference and excessive expectations of parents' and 'burden of study and grades'. In cases of youth with runaway experience by runaway impulse, the major causes of runaway impulse were 'want to have fun with friends' and 'conflicts with parents'. Also shelter and economic difficulties were obstacles that prevent a runaway despite runaway impulse to both male and female students. But in female, the fear and anxiety about runaway were higher barriers than those of male. Conclusion: From the above results, major causes of runaway impulses were relationships with parents, and burden of study. And barriers to prevent a runaway were shelter, economic difficulties to both male and female students.
We analyzed the pressure, impulse on 24 sensors location under the foot using the Parolee system. Total 7 kinds of shoes, i.e. sport shoe, high heel shoes (5cm heel, 8cm heel, 13cm heel), platform shoe, inline skate, and heelys were evaluated for 20 normal subjects. Compared with those of sport shoe, greater pressure and impulse were shown on the 1 st phalange and the 1 st metatarsal head and greater impulse on the medial tarsal bone in high-heel shoes. Greater pressure and impulse were shown on medial metatarsal bone and the lateral tarsal bone in platform shoe. Greater impulse was shown on the medial tarsal bone in inline-skate. Heelys shoe showed smaller impulse on the central area of foot. The result of this study is expected to provide useful information about the relationship between the shoe type and the foot pathologies.
Recently, the number of consumers who buy various goods using the shopping channels on cable TV has increased. The objectives of this study are to examine the propensity of consumers to make an impulse purchase through cable TV, and to investigate the factors that influence consumers' impulse purchase. The following was found in this study: (1) The propensity of consumers to make impulse purchases on cable TV is somewhat low, Among sub-areas of impulse purchase, the propensity to make impulse purchase by suggestion is the highest. (2) Among the variables that affect consumers' impulse purchase on cable TV, the most influential variable is the psychological factor, followed by the frequency of shopping on cable TV, positive testimony from consumers who have used the product, and the amount of time spent in watching shopping channels on cable TV, in that order.
Fashion products are frequently purchased on impulse and are also one of the most popular product categories sold online. Online environment attributes can facilitate flow experiences that are described as an optimal psychological state reached during an engagement in activities (e.g., games and e-shopping). This study estimated the path model to examine the causal relationships among shopping mall attributes, flow, e-impulse buying, and consumer satisfaction for fashion products. A total of 598 usable questionnaires were obtained from college students who had purchased fashion products through the Internet. Data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results showed that e-shopping mall attributes (visual attributes and product attributes) significantly influenced e-impulse buying (fashion-oriented impulse buying and promotion-oriented impulse buying) which was mediated by the consumer flow experience and then influenced by consumer satisfaction. In the path model, the flow was stimulated by shopping mall attributes, the e-impulse buying was influenced by flow, and the consumer satisfaction was influenced by e-impulse buying. Flow was the most highly related to the fashion-oriented impulse buying, and followed by the relationship of the flow and promotion-oriented impulse buying in the context of e-shopping for fashion products. A managerial implication was discussed for fashion product e-retailers to develop strategies on visual attributes and product attributes that could stimulate and increase the consumer flow to trigger impulse buying as well as consumer satisfaction.
