Studies on Growth Responses of Tomato and Environmental Characteristics of Various Rain Shelter Types (간이시설 형태별 환경특성과 토마토 생장반응 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate crop growth responses under various rain shelters which were devised to improve the indoor environment in summer season. For developing the proper type of rain shelter, the improved rain shelters with the roof of saw - tooth type(saw-tooth type) and 3 span-arch type(improved arch type) were compared with the conventional one with the roof of single arch type(conventional arch type) and no rain shelter (open field ). The results were summarized as follows ; 1. The air temperature in the improved arch type was 4$^{\circ}C$ and 1$^{\circ}C$ lower than those in the conventional arch type and the saw - tooth type, respectively. 2. The air temperature drop by the evaporative cooling + improved drainage was 1.3$^{\circ}C$ which was 0.9$^{\circ}C$lower than that by the improved drainage only. 3. The effect of labour saving in the saw-tooth type was superior to any other type because its frames were used as props and the labour for ventilation was not needed. 4. The highest marketable yield of tomato was 4,897kg/10a in the improved arch type and the total leaf areas which related to photosynthesis was the largest in the saw - tooth type. 5. The improved arch type was proved to be proper to raise yield potential. The effect of the underground environment treatment on the quality and quantity of vegetable showed to be outstanding in the saw- tooth type with the evaporative cooling + improved drainage, and in the improved and conventional arch type with the trickle improved drainage. 6. In conclusion, the saw - tooth type and the improved arch type were proved to be labour saving rain shelters and the indoor environments in both types were better than that in the conventional arch type.

Evaluation of the Thermal Properties of Disposable Coveralls for Railroad Carriage Maintenance Workers (철도 차량 정비 작업자를 위한 일회용 부직포 작업복의 온열적 성능 평가)

  • This study evaluated thermo-physiological and subjective properties of improved disposable coveralls for railroad carriage maintenance through climatic chamber trials and a filed study. Subjects wore five kinds of disposable coveralls (Type A: a disposable coverall on the market, Type B: a coverall with an improved hood and size-adjustable design, Type C: a coverall with a portable hood, Type D: a coverall with small holes for ventilation, Type E: a sleeveless coverall, Type F: a separated type of coverall with half sleeves) The air temperature in the climatic chamber was set in 9$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$ For each condition, subjects simulated the railroad work for 120min. and rectal temperature, skin temperatures, clothing microclimate and subjective sensations were measured. The results of chamber trials showed rectal temperature and clothing microclimate did not display significant differences by clothing type. In 30$^{\circ}C$ air temperature, mean skin temperature was higher in Type E and Type F than in Type A(p<0.05) but between the improved coveralls(B-F), we could not find any significant difference. In the case of thermal comfort, the most preferred types were Type B and Type C in 9$^{\circ}C$ and Type F in 30$^{\circ}C$. All subjects felt more comfortable in the improved coveralls than in coveralls of the market (Type A). In field study, workers preferred Type B, Type C and Type F to Type A but the most favorite type differed by the specific type of work. Especially, workers were dissatisfied that Type D tore easily due to lots of small holes around the armpits and Type I did not protect workers' shoulder and arms from oil contamination. According to the climatic chamber trials and field study, the most effective coveralls were Type B and Type C for winter and Type F for summer.

  • THE STUDY ABOUT CHARACTERISTICS OF PHOTO RESIST ITSELF (MINIMUM RESOLUTION, DEPTH OF FOCUS MARGIN AND CRITICAL DIMENSION CONTROL LATITUDE) WAS DONE AND REPORTED. THREE TYPES OF PHOTO RESISTS WERE TESTED. THE FIRST IS THE LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT PHOTO-RESIST SHOWING THE NARROW DISTRIBUTION OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT (LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT CONTROL TYPE), THE SECOND IS A PHOTO-RESIST CONTAINING THE INNER CONTRAST ENCHANCEMENT MATERIAL (INNER CEM TYPE) AND THE THIRD IS A NORMAL PHOTO-RESIST (HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT TYPE). THE INNER CEM TYPE AND THE LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT CONTROL TYPE PHOTO-RESIST ARE MORE IMPROVED PHOTO-RESISTS. IT PROVED THAT THE MINIMUM RESOLUTION WAS IMPROVED BY 0.2 - 0.3 um, THE DEPTH OF FOCUS MARGIN WAS IMPROVED BY 0.8 - 1.2 um AND THE C.D. CONTROL LATITUIDE WAS IMPROVED.

A Study on the Bleaching Properties of Silk Fabric Using Vapor Type Ozone Treatment (기상 오존처리법을 이용한 견직물의 표백성에 관한 연구)

  • We studied on the bleaching properties of silk fabric by vapor type ozone processing using ozone's strong oxidation instead of 28% $H_2O_2$ chemical treatment. When vapor type ozone processing was directly treated to fabrics retaining water to 50~70% pick up ratio, high concentration ozone was generated 14,000ppm(168 mg/h) approximately and finally its bleaching improved. The fabric's bleaching effect was improved because vapor type ozone generated the highest decomposition to oxidation of surface and inter molecules. The experiment revealed that fabric's bleaching was improved by change of the pick-up ratio of vapor type ozone processing. However, tensile strength and elongation were reduced by increase of time, and the time that was assumed as the most optimized time to minimize the reduction of fabric's tensile strength and elongation as well as maximizing the fabric's bleaching was 30 minutes.

A Study on the Softness Properties of Polyester Fabric Using Vapor Type Ozone Treatment (기상 오존처리법을 이용한 폴리에스테르직물의 유연성에 관한 연구)

  • We studied on the softness properties of polyester fabric by vapor type ozone processing using ozone's strong oxidation instead of 25% NaOH chemical treatment. When vapor type ozone processing was directly treated to fabrics retaining water to 40% pick up ratio, high concentration ozone was generated oxidation of 3~4% approximately in polyester fabrics and finally its softness improved. The fabric's softness effect was improved because vapor type ozone generated the highest decomposition to oxidation of surface and inter molecules. The experiment revealed that fabric's softness was improved by change of the time of vapor type ozone processing. However, tensile strength and elongation were reduced by increase in time, 60 minute was assumed as the most optimized time to minimize the reduction of fabric's tensile strength and elongation as well as maximizing the fabric's softness.

  • This study is to suggest the improved noise barrier which is harmonized with surrounding landscape and maintained the similar reduction of reflected sound and diffraction effects in comparison with the aluminum noise barrier of absorbing type which is formed a great majority in Korea. In this study the two improved models of noise barrier(Diffuse and Disperse type) were designed and compared with the noise barriers of absorbing type in the acoustics performance (the reduction of reflected sound and diffraction effects) through the field and full-scale experimental measurement. As these two models have the same acoustic performance as the noise barrier of aluminum absorbing type, it is suggested that these models can be applied to the improved noise barrier as an alteration of aluminum absorbing type barrier.

  • In this paper, Air-interface protocols of ISO 18000-6 Type A and B applied to RFID system in UHF band are analyzed, and those algorithms are realized. Also, the improved anticollision algorithms for the Type A and B of ISO 18000-6 protocol are proposed and the performances are compared. As the results, reduction ratio of total tag recognition time of the improved ISO 18000-6 Type A algorithm is 35.2 % for 100 tags and 24.3% for 1000 tags with respect to standard algorithm, respectively. And the reduction ratio of the improved ISO 18000-6 Type B algorithm is 6.0% for 100 tags and 6.6% for 1000 tags. Therefore, the improved anticollision algorithm proposed in this paper is the advanced method improving the performance of tag recognition in the RFID system.

Surgical Treatment for Intranasal Synechiae (코안 점막유착의 치료)

  • Purpose: Many authors reported about the posttraumatic nasal aesthetic complications. However, the studies for functional or intranasal complications are not enough yet. We identified relatively high prevalence of nasal obstruction and olfactory dysfunction in nasal synechiae, and the synechiae formation was a frequently occurred after the nasal bone reduction. And then, the aim of this study is to identify the usefulness of the treatment of intranasal synechiae. Methods: We reviewed the data from 10 patients with symptomatic intranasal synechiae from June 2007 to June 2009. We enforced evaluation with preoperative CT in all patients but postoperative CT within complicated patients. We studied 10 patients with intranasal synechiae who had persistence postoperative symptoms. We studied the patients who were operated by removal of synechiae and ancillary surgical treatments in the last two years. Results: In the previous report, the incidence of intranasal synechiae was 15% (n=62) and symptomatic synechiae was 16% (10/62). We classified the nasal bone fracture according to Stranc classification. In this paper, the incidence of treated intranasal synechiae was 13% (2/15) in Frontal Impact (FI) Type I, 11% (2/18) in FI Type II, 100% (2/2) in FI Type III, 0% (0/2) in Lateral Impact (LI) Type I, 25% (3/12) in LI Type II, and 33% (1/3) in LI Type III, respectively. After removal of synechiae, all patients improved nasal obstruction and little improved olfactory disturbance. Conclusion: Simple removal of synechiae by scissors improved postoperative symptoms and complications such as nasal obstruction and olfactory dysfunction. After removal of synechiae, all patients improved nasal obstruction, however, little improved anosmia. So, we thought that olfactory dysfunction may result in many intranasal factors. First of all, education of delicate procedure regarding this subject should be empathized accordingly.

  • Reinforcing bar coupling method has a variety of ways including lap-splice method. However, there are problems that need to be improved in terms of constructability, economics analysis. We should be improved about the problems of the existing methods. Accordingly, this study were developed a new type of staggered grip type reinforcing bar coupling. The proposed method show the following effects than existing methods. First, this method can be reduce time through improved workability. Second, increasing safety through the slip removal. Third, improving economic efficiency by reduce the manufacturing costs.

Improved Self Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy for In-situ Plasma Process Monitoring (실시간 플라즈마공정 모니터링을 위한 Self Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy 성능 향상)

  • We reports improved monitoring performance of Self plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (SP-OES) by augmenting a by-pass tube to a conventional straight (or single) tube type self plasma reactor. SP-OES has been used as a tool for the monitoring of plasma chemistry indirectly in plasma process system. The benefits of SP-OES are low cost and easy installation, but some semiconductor industries who adopted commercialized SP-OES product experiencing less sensitivity and slow sensor response. OH out-gas chemistry monitoring was performed to have a direct comparison of a conventional single type tube and a by-pass type tube, and fluid dynamic simulation on the improved hardware design was also followed. It is observed faster pumping out of OH from the chamber in the by-pass type SP-OES.
