Improved DC Model and Transfer Functions for the Negative Output Elementary Super Lift Luo Converter

  • Negative output elementary super lift Luo converter (NOESLLC), which has the significant advantages including high-voltage transfer gain, high efficiency, high power density, and reduced output voltage/inductor current ripples when compared to the traditional DC-DC converters, is an attractive DC-DC converter for the field of negative DC voltage applications. In this study, in consideration of the voltage across the energy transferring capacitor changing abruptly at the beginning of each switching cycle, the improved averaged model of the NOESLLC operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM) is established. The improved DC model and transfer functions of the system are derived and analyzed. The current mode control is applied for this NOESLLC. The results from the theoretical calculations, the PSIM simulations and the circuit experiments show that the improved DC model and transfer functions here are more effective than the existed ones of the NOESLLC to describe its real dynamical behaviors.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an improved technology appraisal model, which considers a variety of macroeconomic variables such as consumer price index and producer price index. The improved model was built using cross correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis. The AUROC analysis showed that goodness-of-fit of the proposed model turned out to be improved than that of the existing model. The model proposed in the paper would be helpful for making a reasonable investments and financing decision, lessening the default rates by systematic risk management, and enhancing the technology commercialization capabilities.

향상된 JA 방식을 이용한 다 모델 기반의 잡음음성인식에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Noisy Speech Recognition Based on Multi-Model Structure Using an Improved Jacobian Adaptation)

  • Various methods have been proposed to overcome the problem of speech recognition in the noisy conditions. Among them, the model compensation methods like the parallel model combination (PMC) and Jacobian adaptation (JA) have been found to perform efficiently. The JA is quite effective when we have hidden Markov models (HMMs) already trained in a similar condition as the target environment. In a previous work, we have proposed an improved method for the JA to make it more robust against the changing environments in recognition. In this paper, we further improved its performance by compensating the delta-mean vectors and covariance matrices of the HMM and investigated its feasibility in the multi-model structure for the noisy speech recognition. From the experimental results, we could find that the proposed improved the robustness of the JA and the multi-model approach could be a viable solution in the noisy speech recognition.

STOCHASTIC SIMULATION OF DAILY WEATHER VARIABLES

  • Meteorological data are often needed to evaluate the long-term effects of proposed hydrologic changes. The evaluation is frequently undertaken using deterministic mathematical models that require daily weather data as input including precipitation amount, maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation and wind speed. Stochastic generation of the required weather data offers alternative to the use of observed weather records. The precipitation is modeled by a Markov Chain-exponential model. The other variables are generated by multivariate model with means and standard deviations of the variables conditioned on the wet or dry status of the day as determined by the precipitation model. Ultimately, the objective of this paper is to compare Richardson's model and the improved weather generation model in their ability to provide daily weather data for the crop model to study potential impacts of climate change on the irrigation needs and crop yield. However this paper does not refer to the improved weather generation model and the crop model. The new weather generation model improved will be introduced in the Journal of KWRA.

잔차를 이용한 개선 중력모형의 개발 (Development of an Improved Gravity Model using Residual)

  • 본 논문은 장래 존간의 통행분포 예측에서 가장 많이 이용되어 왔던 중력모형의 예측정도 향상을 위하여 개선 중력모형을 개발한 것이다. 각기 다른 3개 연도의 사람통행실태 조사에 의해 구축된 O-D표를 이용하여, 중력모형에 의한 통행분포와 실제 통행분포간의 차(잔차)의 시계열적 상관성을 조사하였다. 조사결과, 선형의 상관관계가 있었으며, 이로부터 기준연도의 잔차를 기존 중력모형에 더한 형태의 개선 중력모형을 개발하였다. 실제 O-D를 이용하여, 개발된 중력모형에 의한 통행분포량과 기존 중력모형에 의한 통행분포량을 비교한 결과, 개선된 중력모형에 의한 결과가 더 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

Feasibility study of improved particle swarm optimization in kriging metamodel based structural model updating

  • This study proposed an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) method ensemble with kriging model for model updating. By introducing genetic algorithm (GA) and grouping strategy together with elite selection into standard particle optimization (PSO), the IPSO is obtained. Kriging metamodel serves for predicting the structural responses to avoid complex computation via finite element model. The combination of IPSO and kriging model shall provide more accurate searching results and obtain global optimal solution for model updating compared with the PSO, Simulate Annealing PSO (SimuAPSO), BreedPSO and PSOGA. A plane truss structure and ASCE Benchmark frame structure are adopted to verify the proposed approach. The results indicated that the hybrid of kriging model and IPSO could serve for model updating effectively and efficiently. The updating results further illustrated that IPSO can provide superior convergent solutions compared with PSO, SimuAPSO, BreedPSO and PSOGA.

  • 본 연구에서는 게이트 finger수가 증가될수록 드레인 전류의 증가율과 차단주파수가 감소되는 wide width effect를 관찰하였으며, 이 현상을 모델링하기 위하여 기존 BSIM3v3 RF 모델에 finger수에 무관한 외부 소스 저항을 새로 첨가한 개선된 SPICE MOSFET RF 모델을 개발하였다. 이러한 모델로 시뮬레이션된 Nf 종속 드레인 전류와 차단주파수는 기존 BSIM3v3 RF모델보다 $0.13{\mu}m$ multi-finger MOSFET의 측정데이터와 더 잘 일치하였으며, 이는 개선된 RF 모델의 정확도를 증명한다.

  • This study is intended to develop a improved version of Cross Impact Analysis Model based on Scaling Theory. In developing the model, we applied the scale transformation technique and regression technique to existing CIA model. Improved CIA model is composed of two sub-models: 'model for impact value measurement,' and 'model for impact value conversion'. We applied a technique which measures data by ordinal scale and then transforms them into interval scale and ratio scale data to CIA model. The accuracy of forecasting and the usability of CIA application have been improved.

자연환기시스템을 부착한 발코니의 열적 특성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Thermal Characteristic of the Balcony with Natural Ventilation System)

  • This paper compared vertical temperature distribution between the existing balcony model without ventilator facilities and the improved balcony model with ventilator facilities using differential equation. As the air inside of balcony is heated by solar radiation this heated air is not exhausted in the existing balcony, remaining stagnant. The air temperature distribution was $26.7{\sim}29.3^{\circ}C$ in balcony without natural ventilator system. This heated air affected the rising air temperature of adjacent spaces such as living room and bedroom in the existing balcony. But, as the heated air inside of the improved balcony model is exhausted through natural ventilator facilities in summer, the air temperature in balcony has fallen. The air temperature distribution in improved balcony was $24.8{\sim}26.7^{\circ}C$ for the inlet air speed of 1 m/s and $24.6{\sim}26.7^{\circ}C$ for the inlet air speed of 3 m/s. The energy consumption of the improved balcony is 2.5 times less than of the existing balcony. The improved balcony with the closed damper makes a roll as the existing balcony in the aspect of the heating effect. When the heated air in the improved balcony is supplied, the air temperature is raised and the ventilation effect in adjacent spaces was improved.

전기강판의 벡터 자기특성 모델링을 위한 개선된 E&S Vector Hysteresis Model (Improved E&S Vector Hysteresis Model for the Precise Modeling of Vector Magnetic Properties of Electrical Steel Sheet)

  • Recently, several vector hysteresis models such as vector Preisach, vector Jiles-Atherton and dynamic E&S model have been proposed to describe vector magnetic properties of electrical steel sheets. However, it is still difficult to find an adequate vector hysteresis model in finite element application for both the Non-oriented and Grain-oriented electrical steel sheets under alternating and rotating field conditions. In this paper, an improved E&S vector hysteresis model is suggested to describe the vector magnetic properties of both Non-oriented and Grain-oriented electrical steel sheets under various magnetic field conditions including alternating and rotating magnetic field conditions. The validity of the proposed model is tested through comparisons with the experimental results under various magnetic field conditions.
