In the AV system, stereophonic system has been studied to produce a realistic sound effect. The width of stereo AV system speakers is narrow, to have the spatial impression of sound effect, widening the sound image is necessary. The direction of sound image depends on the phase delay and the sound pressure level difference between two channels. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between the phase delay and the direction of the sound image relating to the frequency of sound source. Also we experimented to directionally localize the sound image of the pure tone with shifting phases and controling sound pressure love between two channels when the sound is reproduced by two speakers to make a spatial impression of sound effect.

In this study, we have proposed the tracking system of single moving object. The tracking system was estimated motion using differential image, and than track the moving object by controlled Pan/Tilt device of camera. Proposed tracking system is devided into image acquisition and preprocessing phase, motion estimation phase and object tracking phase. To estimation the motion, differential image method was used. In the binary differential image, decision of threshold value was used adaptive method. And in grouping the object area, block_based recursive labeling algorithm was used. As a result of experiment, motion of moving object can be estimated. The result of tracking, object was not lost and object was tracked correctly.

In this study, a new algorithm for canceling a MRI artifact due to the translational motion In the image plane is described. Unlike the conventional iterative phase retrieval algorithm, in which there is no guarantee for the convergence, a direct method for estimating the motion is presented. In previous approaches, the motions in the x(read out) direction and the y(phase encoding) direction were estimated simultaneously. However, the feature of x and y directional motions are different from each other. By analyzing their features, each x and y directional motion is canceled by the different algorithms in two steps. First, it is noticed that the x directional motion corresponds to a shift of the x directional spectrum of the MRI signal, and the non-zero area of the spectrum just corresponds to the projected area of the density function on the x axis. So the motion is estimated by tracing the edges between non-zero area and zero area of the spectrum, and the x directional motion is canceled by shifting the spectrum in an reverse direction. Next, the y directional motion is canceled by using a new constraint condition, with which the motion component and the true image component can be separated. This algorithm is shown to be effective by using a phantom image with simulated motion.
A novel asymmetric multiple-image encryption method using an octonion Fresnel transform (OFST) and a two-dimensional Sine Logistic modulation map (2D-SLMM) is presented. First, a new multiple-image information processing tool termed the octonion Fresneltransform is proposed, and then an efficient method to calculate the OFST of an octonion matrix is developed. Subsequently this tool is applied to process multiple plaintext images, which are represented by octonion algebra, holistically in a vector manner. The complex amplitude, formed from the components of the OFST-transformed original images and modulated by a random phase mask (RPM), is used to derive the ciphertext image by employing an amplitude- and phase-truncation approach in the Fresnel domain. To avoid sending whole RPMs to the receiver side for decryption, a random phase mask generation method based on SLMM, in which only the initial parameters of the chaotic function are needed to generate the RPMs, is designed. To enhance security, the ciphertext and two decryption keys produced in the encryption procedure are permuted by the proposed SLMM-based scrambling method. Numerical simulations have been carried out to demonstrate the proposed scheme's validity, high security, and high resistance to various attacks.

In general, infrared images have less sharpness and image details than visible images. So, the prior image upscaling methods are not effective in the infrared images. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes an algorithm which initially up-scales an input infrared (IR) image by using adaptive dynamic range encoding (ADRC)-based super-resolution (SR) method, and then fuses the result with the corresponding visible images. The proposed algorithm consists of a up-scaling phase and a fusion phase. First, an input IR image is up-scaled by the proposed ADRC-based SR algorithm. In the dictionary learning stage of this up-scaling phase, so-called 'pre-emphasis' processing is applied to training-purpose high-resolution images, hence better sharpness is achieved. In the following fusion phase, high-frequency information is extracted from the visible image corresponding to the IR image, and it is adaptively weighted according to the complexity of the IR image. Finally, a up-scaled IR image is obtained by adding the processed high-frequency information to the up-scaled IR image. The experimental results show than the proposed algorithm provides better results than the state-of-the-art SR, i.e., anchored neighborhood regression (A+) algorithm. For example, in terms of just noticeable blur (JNB), the proposed algorithm shows higher value by 0.2184 than the A+. Also, the proposed algorithm outperforms the previous works even in terms of subjective visual quality.
Radionuclide cardiac studies lend themselves exceptionally well to functional imaging. This is especially true for gated blood pool scan (GBP). Making functional images is also possible in radionuclide angiocardiography (RNAC). In this study we tried to validate the functional images obtained from RNAC by comparing it with GBP. Twenty three patients (16 patients with coronary artery diseases, 5 with hypertensive heart diseases, and 2 with nonspecific chest pains) underwent simultaneous RNAC and GBP at the same position (LAO $45^{\circ}$). From both studies, global ejection fraction, regional ejection fraction, phase image, amplitude image, stroke image, paradox image, maximum ejection and maximum filling rates were obtained. Global ejection fraction are almost same in both studies. Regional ejection fractions of apex and inferior portion of left ventricle calculated from RNAC are well correlated with those of GBP. Phase and paradox image, maximum ejection and maximum filling rates were obtained. Global ejection fraction are almost same in both studies. Regional ejection fractions of apex and inferior portion of left ventricle calculated from RNAC are well correlated with those of GBP. Phase and paradox images of RNAC are very similar to those of GBP. However, amplitude and stroke images are different. Regional ejection fractions of the left ventricular base, maximum ejection and maximum filling rates obtained from RNAC are significantly different from those of GBP. In conclusion, albeit all of functional images of RNAC is not same as GBP, regional walt motions and global left ventricular function are expected to be successfully analyzed by phase and paradox image and ejection fraction.
Most of the acoustic microscopes have been constructed acoustic image by simply measuring the amplitude of the reflected signal from the specimen. This method fails to produce images of good quality because the change in amplitude is not sensitive enough to specimen with fine variation. In this paper, we have been constructed the acoustic microscope system which has been able to measure simultaneously the amplitude and phase of the reflected ultrasonic signal. And also we have been constructed the amplitude and phase images for the 500 won coin as a sample and the alumium spacimen with internal round defect, and compared and analyzed these images. In expermental result, the phase image have shown better sensitive than the amplitude image and given better contrast for the micro height variation of specimen. It will be expected that the phase image can be used as an additional bit of information to improve ambiguituities in amplitude image on nondestructive testing for specimen with fine variation.

A content-based image retrieval(CBIR) system builds the image database using low-level features such as color, shape and texture and provides similar images that user wants to retrieve when the retrieval request occurs. What the user is interest in is a response time in consideration of the building time to build the index database and the response time to obtain the retrieval results from the query image. In a content-based image retrieval system, the similarity computing time comparing a query with images in database takes the most time in whole response time. In this paper, we propose the two-phase search method with the clustering technique of feature vector in order to minimize the similarity computing time. Experimental results show that this two-phase search method is 2-times faster than the conventional full-search method using original features of ail images in image database, while maintaining the same retrieval relevance as the conventional full-search method. And the proposed method is more effective as the number of images increases.
Since shape of an object in an image carries important information in contents based image retrieval (CBIR), many shape description methods have been proposed to retrieve images using shape information. Among the existing shape based image retrieval methods, the method which employs invariant Zernike moment desciptor (IZMD) showed better performance compared to other methods which employ traditional Zernike moments descriptor in CBIR. In this paper, we propose a new image retrieval method which applies invariant angular radial transform descriptor (IARTD) to obtain higher performance than the method which employs IZMD in CBIR. IARTD is a rotationally invariant feature which consists of magnitudes and alligned phases of angular radial transform coefficients. To produce rotationally invariant phase coefficients, a phase correction scheme is performed while extracting the IARTD. The distance between two IARTDs is defined by combining the differences of the magnitudes and the aligned phases. Through the experiment using MPEG-7 shape dataset, the average bull's eye performance (BEP) of the proposed method is 0.5806 while the average BEPs of the exsiting methods which employ IZMD and traditional ART are 0.4234 and 0.3574, respectively.
Two-phase flow, especially gas-liquid two-phase flow, has a wide application in industrial field. The diagnosis of two-phase flow parameters, which directly determine the flow and heat transfer characteristics, plays an important role in providing the design reference and ensuring the security of online operation of two-phase flow system. Computer tomography (CT) is a good way to diagnose such parameters with imaging method. This paper has proposed a novel image reconstruction method for thermal neutron CT of two-phase flow with improved simulated annealing (ISA) algorithm, which makes full use of the prior information of two-phase flow and the advantage of stochastic searching algorithm. The reconstruction results demonstrate that its reconstruction accuracy is much higher than that of the reconstruction algorithm based on weighted total difference minimization with soft-threshold filtering (WTDM-STF). The proposed method can also be applied to other types of two-phase flow CT modalities (such as X(𝛄)-ray, capacitance, resistance and ultrasound).
