  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of internet usage among 5th and 6th grade of elementary school children and to elucidate the path model and the relative effects of various factors on internet addiction in the internet addiction tendency group. According to our results, the normal internet user group exhibit higher educational levels in fathers, secure attachment to mother, and warm friendship when compared to the internet addiction tendency group. At the same time, internet addiction group exhibit longer internet use time, a greater numbers of avatars in use, and higher avatars decoration costs. The research model suggested here was supported by the results. Attachment to mother appears to affect friendship which in turn affects avatars image decoration needs and avatars identification which in turn then has an impact upon internet addiction tendency. These results were then discussed in relation to previous research and theories.

  • Recent Ci(Corporate Identification) booming in korea is representing the importance of managing corporate imge through design. This study aims to identify how corporations can establish desirable corporate image through the selection of basic elements (symbol, logotype, corporate color and others). One of the major reasons for the study is that the selecting procedure and evaluating criteria for basic elements are not well organuzed(or developed) yet. As the first step, the nature of managing corporato imnge, corporate identification and the needs of establishing process for CI basic system and field work. Then, the study suggested a systematic process for cstablishing basic systcm of corporate identity program. Finally, overall procedure and specific guidelines in each stage of the process in relation to the objectives of corporate activitice, basic corporate image strategios and the adoption patterns of CI have developed.

  • Light intensity variation is one of the key factors which affect the accuracy of vehicle face re-identification, so in order to improve the robustness of vehicle face features to light intensity variation, a Nonnegative Matrix Factorization model with the constraint of image acquisition time difference is proposed. First, the original features vectors of all pairs of positive samples which are used for training are placed in two original feature matrices respectively, where the same columns of the two matrices represent the same vehicle; Then, the new features obtained after decomposition are divided into stable and variable features proportionally, where the constraints of intra-class similarity and inter-class difference are imposed on the stable feature, and the constraint of image acquisition time difference is imposed on the variable feature; At last, vehicle face matching is achieved through calculating the cosine distance of stable features. Experimental results show that the average False Reject Rate and the average False Accept Rate of the proposed algorithm can be reduced to 0.14 and 0.11 respectively on five different datasets, and even sometimes under the large difference of light intensities, the vehicle face image can be still recognized accurately, which verifies that the extracted features have good robustness to light variation.

  • We propose a detection algorithm based on tree-structured convolutional neural networks (TsCNNs) that finds pornography, propaganda, or other inappropriate content on a social media network. The algorithm sequentially applies the typical convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm in a tree-like structure to minimize classification errors in similar classes, and thus improves accuracy. We implemented the detection system and conducted experiments on a data set comprised of 6 ordinary classes and 11 inappropriate classes collected from the Korean military social network. Each model of the proposed algorithm was trained, and the performance was then evaluated according to the images and videos identified. Experimental results with 20,005 new images showed that the overall accuracy in image identification achieved a high-performance level of 99.51%, and the effectiveness of the algorithm reduced identification errors by the typical CNN algorithm by 64.87 %. By reducing false alarms in video identification from the domain, the TsCNNs achieved optimal performance of 98.11% when using 10 minutes frame-sampling intervals. This indicates that classification through proper sampling contributes to the reduction of computational burden and false alarms.

  • An image processing algorithm is developed in order to recognize the type of cars, the position of a number plate and the characters on the plate. to recognize the type of cars, comparison of two images is used. One has a car image, the other is just a background image without car. After that recognition, a vertical line filter is used to find the location of the plate. Finally the simularity mehod is used to recognize the numbers on plates.

  • The variation of the directional properties of an image is used to extract the iris code for human identification. In order to conserve the original information while minimizing the effect of noise, scale-space filtering is applied. Resulting binary codes have been tested on a set of 272 iris images obtained from 18 persons.

  • This paper presents the system widely used for extraction of human body recognition system in the field of bio-metric identification. The Human body recognition system is used in many fields. This biological is appled to the human recognition in banking and the access control with security. The important algorithm of the identification software usese hand lines and hand shape geometry. We used the simple algorithm and recognizing the person by their hand image from the input camera. The geometrical characteristics in hand shape such as length of finger to whole hand length thickness of finger to length, etc are used.

  • This paper presents the use of Point Number Algorithm (PNA) for real-time image processing for position identification of mobile robot. PNA can get how many points in the image gotten from the robot vision and can calculate the distance between the robot and the wall by the number of the points. The algorithm can be applied to a robot vision system enable to identify where it is in the workspace. In the workspace, the walls are made up by white background with many black points on them evenly. The angle of the vision is set invariable. So the more black points in the vision, the longer the distance is from the robot to the wall. But when the robot does not face the wall directly, the number of the black points is different. When the robot faces the wall, the least number of the black points can be gotten. The simulation results are presented at the end of this paper.

  • A quantitative non-contact multi-point measurement system is proposed to the measurement of three-dimensional movement of floating vessels by using digital image processing. The instantaneous three-dimensional movement of a floating structure which is floating in a small water tank is measured by this system and its three-dimensional movement is reconstructed by the measurement results. The validity of this system is verified by position identification for spatially distributed known positional values of basic landmarks set for the camera calibration. It is expected that this system is applicable to the non-contact measurement for an unsteady physical phenomenon especially for the measurement of three-dimensional movement of floating vessels in the laboratory model test.
