A Study on the Visual Evaluation about Silhouete Image -Based on X-line- (실루엣 이미지의 시각적 평가에 관한 연구 -X-line의 변화를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of visual evaluation about silhouette image. The specific objective were; 1) to construct of silhouette image evaluation instrument using semantic differential scale for the purpose of measuring the width and length; 2) to identify the factor structure of the silhouette; 3) to test the difference of visual perception to the silhouette as the variation of width; 4) to test the difference of visual perception to the silhouette as the variation of length; 5) to test interaction effect between width and length. The major finding were; For the visual evaluation of silhouette as shoulder width variatiorl, there were significant difference in hardness and softness factor. For the hard and soft image, we should express by variation of the shoulder width. For the visual evaluation of silhouette as skirt width variation, there were significant difference in attention factor. For the attensive image, we should express by variation of the skirt width. For the visual evaluation of silhouette as skirt length variation, there were significant difference in activity factor. For the active image, we should express by variation of the skirt length.

  • In this paper, we introduce a digital cross-polarization and fluorescent color imaging system for quantitative evaluation of skin lesions. We describe the characterization of the imaging systems and the quantitative image analysis methods to show the feasibility for quantitative evaluation of skin lesions. The polarization color image was used to compute erythema and melanin index image which are useful for quantitative evaluation of pigmentation and vascular skin lesions, respectively. The fluorescent color image was used to quantitatively evaluate "sebum" and "vitiligo". In quantitative evaluation of various skin lesions, we confirmed the clinical efficacy of the imaging systems for dermatological applications. Finally, we sure that the imaging systems can be utilized as important assistant tools for the evaluation of skin lesions by providing reproducible quantitative result for widely distributed skin lesions.

  • In commercial digital-cameras, color-filter filters light according to wavelength range of color filter array (CFA) and the filtered intensities contain color information of light. Then, output data of CFA is transformed to final rendered image through demosaicing process. In image processing of digital-camera, the quality of the final rendered image is affected by optical cross talk of CFA, kind of CFA pattern etc. Basically, pattern of CFA plays important role in image quality of final image rendered by digital-camera. Therefore, an evaluation system capable of quantitatively evaluating CFA is needed. This paper proposes a novel evaluation system using existing and proposed image metrics for evaluating CFAs of digital-camera. Proposed CFA evaluation system consist of color difference in CIELAB and S-CIELAB, Structure SImilarity (SSIM), MTF50, moire starting point (MSP), and subjective preference (SP). MSP and SP are newly designed for the proposed evaluation system. Proposed evaluation system is expressed in polar coordinates to analyze the characteristics of CFA objectively and intuitively. Through simulations, we confirmed that proposed CFA evaluation system can objectively assess performance of developed CFAs.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of the visual evaluation for the Picture image combination of Clothing and Ground. Mdern and strong images formed charming urban and cool visual images with urban and neat artificial backgrounds. Mature images were created with romantic and static artificial backgrounds. Mannish straight and conservative images created charming and rigid visual images in urban and formatted artificial background. Using a white natural background for the urban style created a cool visual image. The use of an interior background lead to warmer images and more defination lines Causal images created a rural and warm image which expressed charm and a soft visual while using a rural and natural background. A most unharmonious and hard image was created when using an urban and formatted artificial background. The coolest visual image was created with a cool and natural background. Feminine and flawless images created urban and neat visual image using an urban and formatted artificial background.   • This study attempted to investigate the perspective of the skirts of male and female students by analyzing the differences in image evaluation according to the constituent elements (type, length, and wearing method) of men's skirt designs in modern fashion. The study included 109 male and female college students from Generation Z residing or whose life center was in Gwangju Metropolitan City, to evaluate 12 images depicting types of men's skirts. First, the constituent image evaluation factors according to the constituent design elements of men's skirts were analyzed. Second, the differences in each constituent image evaluation factor based on the constituent design elements of men's skirt designs were analyzed. Third, the gender-based differences in image evaluation by men and women concerning the constituent design elements of men's skirt designs were analyzed. The analysis included relatively more women than men. The results of the image recognition dimension included the following categories: "attractive image," "evaluable image," "gender image," and "personality image." In modern fashion, skirts are used to express the diverse personalities of men's fashion. Thus, they are used beyond the stereotype of women's clothing, toward expanding and diversifying the image of men's clothing through mixing and creating a dichotomous image of men and women. It can be used as a design that suggests a gender-fluid image.

A Study on the Image Evaluation and Morphological Elements of Buildings In the University Campus (대학캠퍼스 건축물의 형태적 요소 및 이미지평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study evaluates the relationship among the evaluation structure of morphological elements, the satisfaction on exterior elements, and the image evaluation for the campus landmarks by campus type. The investigation results are summarized as follows. 1) The university headquarter was nominated as the university landmark, and the main reason for the nomination was the building's historic and locational value. 2) Of the morphological elements of the campus landmark, 'proportion and balance' and 'harmony and order' were deemed important, while 'diversity' was deemed less important. 3) For the satisfaction on the facility's exterior elements, the evaluation structure was different for each university. However, the factor of 'location of the facility' was deemed the biggest factor for satisfaction for all universities, while the facility's 'color and material' were found to be the most dissatisfying factors. 4) The image evaluation on the facility was different for each university. Although there was a strong skeptical image about 'liveliness', there was a very positive image about 'elegance' and 'scale'. 5) On the relationship between the satisfaction on exterior elements and the image evaluation, there was a different evaluation structure for each university. 'Facility's color and exterior material' were the main elements which improved the overall image of the facility. Thus, the study results strongly suggest that an important task is to determine the maintenance direction through the emphasis on the relationship between exterior elements and image satisfaction for each university.

A Study on Image Evaluation of Baseball Uniform (야구 유니폼의 이미지 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the differences of image evaluation of baseball uniform by uniform design and perceiver's gender. and to examine how baseball uniform preferences vary according to perceiver's gender. Stimuli consisted of 12 color photographs of a male model wearing a baseball uniforms which were manipulated according to the color of shorts and pants. A semantic differential scale of 23 items were used to evaluate the image of the stimuli. Subjects were 288 males and females. Five dimensions derived to account for the image of baseball uniform. These were manly, ability, activity, preference, and visibility. Wearing of red shirts had a positive effect on the evaluation of ability, activity, and visibility. Dark blue shirts had a positive effect on the evaluation of preference. Grey uniforms had negative effects on the evaluation of ability, activity, and visibility. Men liked white uniforms and vertical stripes uniforms of black and white more than dud women. Women talked dark blue shirts more than did men.

Objective and Quantitative Evaluation of Image Quality Using Fuzzy Integral: Phantom Study (퍼지적분을 이용한 영상품질의 객관적이고 정량적 평가: 팬톰 연구)

  • Physical evaluations provide the basis for an objective and quantitative analysis of the image quality. Nonetheless, there are limitations in using physical evaluations to judge the utility of the image quality if the observer's subjectivity plays a key role despite its imprecise and variable nature. This study proposes a new method for objective and quantitative evaluation of image quality to compensate for the demerits of both physical and subjective image quality and combine the merits of them. The images of chest phantom were acquired from four digital radiography systems on clinic sites. The physical image quality was derived from an image analysis algorithm in terms of the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the low-contrast objects in three regions (lung, heart, and diaphragm) of a digital chest phantom radiograph. For image analysis, various image processing techniques were used such as segmentation, and registration, etc. The subjective image quality was assessed by the ability of the human observer to detect low-contrast objects. Fuzzy integral was used to integrate them. The findings of this study showed that the physical evaluation did not agree with the subjective evaluation. The system with the better performance in physical measurement showed the worse result in subjective evaluation compared to the other system. The proposed protocol is an integral evaluation method of image quality, which includes the properties of both physical and subjective measurement. It may be used as a useful tool in image evaluation of various modalities.

  • This article investigated competitiveness evaluation of Korean product in German market that it is the most difficult to entry among EU countries in order to gain the upper hand against other MNCs. Specially, this empirical study analyzed product evaluation by using country image, corporate image and purchase experience. As the empirical results, Korean economy image and general image are significant. This means that German consumers have good image for economic, social and cultural image, so these factors influence product evaluation through halo effect. Also, we analyzed the effect of brand purchase experience and knowledge for Korea on product evaluation of German consumer. The results that country competitiveness and image play a role into product evaluation provide implication that we should make not only country image but also developed political, cultural image.
