A Study on the Value Change of Digital Image According to Digital Technology

  • The strategy through visual sense is one of the ways that subject builds the outside world and communicates. The visual sense seems higher level of dependence than the other senses and contributes to intercommunication. For this reason, the desire of image dates back to primitive art and visual image(visual media and visual culture) has dialectically developed in the history of mankind. Visual subject, based on perspective of Renaissance, was moved from God to human beings. Andre Bazin's 'la genese automatique' through technical art has epochally changed the paradigm of visual art and visual culture. From primitive art to photo and film, the image, based on visual sense, has reflected human wish, appealed visual desire and led to evolution of image. In the late 20 century, without dialectical evolution of technology and culture, rapidly progressive digital image has changed social and cultural implication over rational strategy of production and distribution and it strengthened authority of image through visual approach of endless desire. The goal of this study is to analyze the value change of digital image developing a new Renaissance through production, reading, communication, and implication of evolution due to digitalized image, which has evolved as object and tool of desire.

CEO의 이미지가 브랜드 가치에 미치는 영향 (The Study on Identify components of CEO image Influence in Brand's value)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify components of CEO image and to examine predictors to affect company's market value. To explore the social construction of the CEO Image depicted in the popular business newspaper, the Wall Street Journal and daily newspaper of Korea, was analyzed. Then, the reconstructed image of the CEO was compared with the firm's stock price change to see their relationship, if any. This paper focused on the case of Carly Fiorina as previous chief of Hewlett-Packard, who was the Fortune's ranking of the 50 most powerful women in business is presented. The period for the analysis was five years and eight months from her inauguration(July, 1999) to the release(February, 2005). The results, four predictors such as nature, management ability, leadership style, appearance character had statistically significant relationship with both company's market value and the image of CEO. In addition to revealed that media coverage of Carly Filoina was commensurate with the financial performance, particularly stock price change of the Hewlett-Packard. In general, the best image of the CEO is highly transcends to the image of the company as well. Therefore it is need to manage effectively components of CEO image to enhance brand image and its brand value, which are further expected to enhance company's market value.

Moire artifact 제거 후 그리드 주파수에 따른 미세병변의 영상분석 (Image Analysis of Micro Lesions According to Grid Frequency After Removal of Moire Artifact)

  • Morphological information such as shape and margin of micro lesion is important information for diagnosis of disease in clinical imaging. In this study, we investigated the morphological changes of the micro lesions by comparing the contrast and area in grid suppressed DR images according to grid frequency. In the profile analysis of the image, the mass showed an average intensity variation of 8.6 ~ 72.4 after suppression, The higher the grid frequency, the more the contrast was increased. However, in the images obtained using 103 lp / inch, which is a grid frequency less than the sampling frequency, the contrast of the mass in the vertical direction decreased after suppression. In the binary image, the area change of the mass was also large. As a result, the shape, size, and margin of the mass changed. In the case of very small calcification, the higher the grid frequency is the larger the change in contrast, so that a clear image can be obtained in the post-suppression image. However, we could confirm that the margin of the lesion was blurred and the lesion was lost in some of the images using the 103 lp / inch grid. The higher the frequency of the grid, The change of the contrast of fiber occurred largely and clear boundary was confirmed. The decrease of the number of pixels was small and morphological change was small. In conclusion, when using a grid frequency that is not suitable for the sample frequency, morphological changes or lesion loss of micro lesions in the post- suppression image may give the possibility of misdiagnosis in diagnosis and differentiation of the image.

Landast 영상을 이용한 변화탐지 분석 기법 연구 (Analytic Techniques for Change Detection using Landsat)

  • 위성영상을 활용한 변화탐지 기법은 다중시기의 영상을 이용하여 토지의 이용현황에 대한 자연적, 인위적 변화를 효율적으로 탐지할 수 있다. 변화탐지의 경우 위성영상의 보정 방법, 입력데이터 종류, 변화분석 기법에 따라 상이한 결과가 나타난다. 즉, 변화탐지를 위해 동일한 위성과 동일한 영상을 사용하여도 다양한 조건에 따라 다른 결과가 나타나기에 연구 목적에 맞는 적합한 분석기법을 적용해야 한다. 본 연구는 영상의 보정방법에 따른 절대방사보정과 상대방사보정한 위성영상을 기하보정 후 정규식생지수(NDVI)와 주성분분석(PCA)을 하고, 이를 차연산기법(ID:Image Difference)과 비연산기법(IR:Image Rationing)을 이용해 변화탐지 분석을 했다. 그 결과 ID-NDVI의 경우 식생 관련 변화탐지에 매우 우수한 정확도를 나타냈고, ID-PCA는 전 영역에서 90%의 정확도를 보였다. IR-NDVI는 90%의 정확도를 보였으나 전답${\rightarrow}$초지의 경우 70%이하로 나타났고, IR-PCA 역시 전 영역에 대해 우수한 변화탐지능력을 보였다.

  • In this paper, I propose an automatic background extraction method and continuous background updating technique. Because there is a movement of a vehicle and a change of a background is feeble, the area moving through the time axis is looked for and a background and a vehicle image is divided. A way to give dynamically the threshold which divides the image frame into a vehicle image and the background in a space is enforced. Through the repetition of the above-mentioned process, the background pictorial image is gained. Using the karlman filter technique, the update is done so that a background image can obey a climate situation and an environmental change in day and night. A background image processed algorithm is better than the existent one. Through simulation, the feasibility of the algorithm has been verified.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient image equipment implementation for the detector characteristics of various detectors by analyzing un-cooled thermal detector that exhibits nonlinear changes due to external temperature effects. First, we explain Thermal Electric Cooler for un-cooled detector temperature control system and Non-image correction methode for IR system. Second, we present the results of a study on an efficient control technique that can minimize the deterioration of image quality by controlling a un-cooled thermal detector without a thermal electric cooler(TEC) inside. Third, we suggest Image Correction Methods for Uncooled IR TECless Detector with Non-linear characteristics due to Temperature Change. So, we analyze and present the results of Image correction methods for various un-cooled thermal detector.

  • The psychophysical experiments were carried out by a panel of eleven observers on the image difference pairs displayed on the LCD (liquid crystal display)to quantify the quality changes of complex images imparted by the typical image processing operations. There were six different kinds of pairs according to their original image. The three types of visual tests performed were: pair-to-pair comparison of image differences for ordering the differences between images introduced by single or combination of image lightness change, contrast change, blurring, and sharpening, perceptibility and acceptability tests using ascending or descending series of image difference pairs ordered according to the size of their visual differences.   • This research will examine into the capabilities of KOMPSAI-1 EOC image application in the field of urban environment and at the same time, with that as its foundation, come to understand the urban changes of the study areas. This research is constructed in three stages: Firstly, for application of change detection techniques, which utilizes multi-temporal remotely sensed data, the data normalization process is carried out. Secondly, change detection method is applied fur the systematic monitoring of land use changes, which utilizes multi-temporal EOC images. Lastly, by using the results of the application of land use changes, the existing land use map is updated. Consequently, the land-use change patterns are monitored, which utilize multi-temporal panchromatic EOC image data; and application potentials of ancillary data fur updating existing data can be presented. In this research, with the use of the land use change, monitoring of urban growth has been carried out, and the potential for the application of KOMPSAT-1 EOC images and the scope of application was examined. Henceforth, the future expansion of the scope of application of KOMPSAT-1 EOC image is anticipated.

A Study on Urban Change Detection Using D-DSM from Stereo Satellite Data

  • Unlike aerial images covering small region, satellite data show high potential to detect urban scale geospatial changes. The change detection using satellite images can be carried out using single image or stereo images. The single image approach is based on radiometric differences between two images of different times. It has limitations to detect building level changes when the significant occlusion and relief displacement appear in the images. In contrast, stereo satellite data can be used to generate DSM (Digital Surface Model) that contain information of relief-corrected objects. Therefore, they have high potential for the object change detection. Therefore, we carried out a study for the change detection over an urban area using stereo satellite data of two different times. First, the RPC correction was performed for two DSMs generation via stereo image matching. Then, D-DSM (Differential DSM) was generated by differentiating two DSMs. The D-DSM was used for the topographic change detection and the performance was checked by applying different height thresholds to D-DSM.

Scale Invariant Auto-context for Object Segmentation and Labeling

  • In complicated environment, context information plays an important role in image segmentation/labeling. The recently proposed auto-context algorithm is one of the effective context-based methods. However, the standard auto-context approach samples the context locations utilizing a fixed radius sequence, which is sensitive to large scale-change of objects. In this paper, we present a scale invariant auto-context (SIAC) algorithm which is an improved version of the auto-context algorithm. In order to achieve scale-invariance, we try to approximate the optimal scale for the image in an iterative way and adopt the corresponding optimal radius sequence for context location sampling, both in training and testing. In each iteration of the proposed SIAC algorithm, we use the current classification map to estimate the image scale, and the corresponding radius sequence is then used for choosing context locations. The algorithm iteratively updates the classification maps, as well as the image scales, until convergence. We demonstrate the SIAC algorithm on several image segmentation/labeling tasks. The results demonstrate improvement over the standard auto-context algorithm when large scale-change of objects exists.
