In this paper, we describe an implementation of real-time face recognition system under ubiquitous computing environments. First, face image is captured by PDA with CMOS camera and then this image with user n and name is transmitted via WLAN(Wireless LAN) to the server and finally PDA receives verification result from the server The proposed system consists of server and client parts. Server uses PCA and LDA algorithm which calculates eigenvector and eigenvalue matrices using the face images from the PDA at enrollment process. And then, it sends recognition result using Euclidean distance at verification process. Here, captured image is first compressed by the wave- let transform and sent as JPG format for real-time processing. Implemented system makes an improvement of the speed and performance by comparing Euclidean distance with previously calculated eigenvector and eignevalue matrices in the learning process.

In this paper, we propose Automatic detection system of underground pipe which automatically detects underground pipe to help experts. Actual location of underground pipe does not match with blueprint due to various factors such as ground changes over time, construction discrepancies, etc. So, various accidents occur during excavation or just by ageing. Locating underground utilities is done through GPR exploration to prevent these accidents but there are shortage of experts, because GPR data is enormous and takes long time to analyze. In this paper, To analyze 3D GPR data automatically, we use 3D image segmentation, one of deep learning technique, and propose proper data generation algorithm. We also propose data augmentation technique and pre-processing module that are adequate to GPR data. In experiment results, we found the possibility for pipe analysis using image segmentation through our system recorded the performance of F1 score 40.4%.
Dual frequency identification sonar (DIDSON) is an imaging sonar that has been used for numerous fisheries investigations in a diverse range of freshwater and marine environments. The main purpose of DIDSON is fish counting, fish sizing, and fish behavioral studies. DIDSON records video-quality data, so processing power for handling the vast amount of data with high speed is a priority. Therefore, a semiautomated analysis of DIDSON data for fish counting, sizing, and fish behavior in Echoview (fisheries acoustic data analysis software) was accomplished using testing data collected on the Rakaia River, New Zealand. Using this data, the methods and algorithms for background noise subtraction, image smoothing, target (fish) detection, and conversion to single targets were precisely illustrated. Verification by visualization identified the resulting targets. As a result, not only fish counts but also fish sizing information such as length, thickness, perimeter, compactness, and orientation were obtained. The alpha-beta fish tracking algorithm was employed to extract the speed, change in depth, and the distributed depth relating to fish behavior. Tail-beat pattern was depicted using the maximum intensity of all beams. This methodology can be used as a template and applied to data from BlueView two-dimensional imaging sonar.

This paper proposes Personal Information Auto Detection(PIAD) System to prevent leakage of Personal informations in document and image files that can be used by mobile service provider. The proposed system is to automatically detect the images and documents that contain personal informations and shows the result to the user. The PIAD is divided into the selection step for fast and accurate retrieval images and analysis which is composed of SURF, erosion and dilation, FindContours algorithm. The result of proposed PIAD system showed more than 98% accuracy by selection and analysis steps, 267 images detection of 272 images.
Cardiac function is evaluated quantitatively using angiographic images via the analysis of the shape change or the heart wall boundaries. To kin with, boundary defection or ESLV(End Systolic Lert Ventricular) and EDLV(End Diastolic Left Ventricular) is essential for the quantitative analysis of cardiac function. The boundary detection methods proposed in the past were almost semi-automatic. Intervention by a knowledgeable human operator was still required Of con, manual tracing of the boundaries is currently used for subsequent analysis and diagnosis. This method would not cut excessive time, labor, and subjectivity associated with manual intervention by a human operator. EDLV images have noncontiguous and ambiguous edge signal on some boundary regions. In this paper, we propose a new method for automated detection of boundaries in noncontiguous and ambiguous EDLV images. The boundary detection scheme which based on a priori knowledge information is divided into two steps. The first step is to detect the candidate edge points of EDLV using ESLV boundaries. The second step is to correct detected boundaries of EDLV using the LV shape. We developed the algorithm of modifying EDLV boundaries defined adaptive modifier. We experimented the method proposed in this paper and compared our proposed method with the manual method in detecting boundaries of EDLV. In the areas within estimated boundaries of EDLV, the percentage of error was about 1.4%. We verified the useflilness and obtained the satisfying results througll the experiments of the proposed method.
In this paper, we try to solve the difficulties of the location of the structure for the movement of the wire - based pesticide spraying equipment designed for field farming. To do this, we apply earth resistivity measurement method and analysis technique which can indirectly grasp the earth structure. Electrodes are installed on the field in a selected farming area, and multi-switches built in the control board are driven to automatically acquire ground resistivity data. Then, the optimal point suitable for the actual structure installation is selected through the site analysis using the 2D image restoration algorithm.
Recently, tunneling under the seabed is becoming increasingly common in many countries. In Korea, there are proposals to tunnel from the mainland to Jeju Island. Safe construction requires geologic structures such as faults to be characterized during the design and construction phase; however, unlike on land, such structures are difficult to survey seabed. This study aims to develop an algorithm that uses geostatistics to automatically derive large-scale geological structures on the seabed. The most important considerations in this method are the optimal size of the moving window, the optimal type of spatial statistics, and determination of the optimal percentile standard. Finally, the optimal analysis algorithm was developed using the R program, which comprehensibly presents variations in spatial statistics. The program allows the type and percentile standard of spatial statistics to be specified by the user, thus enabling an analysis of the geological structure according to variations in spatial statistics. The geotechnical defense-training algorithm shows that a large, linear geological lineament is best visualized using a $3{\times}3$ moving window and a 10% upper standard based on the moving variance value and fractile. In particular, setting the fractile criterion to the upper 0.5% almost entirely eliminates the error values from the contour image.
Recently, the development of computer achieves a system which is similar to the mechanics of human visual system. The 3-dimensional measurement using monocular vision system must be achieved a camera calibration. So far, the camera calibration technique required reference target in a scene. But, these methods are inefficient because they have many calculation procedures and difficulties in analysis. Therefore, this paper proposes a native method that without reference target in a scene. We use the grid type frame with different line widths. This method uses vanishing point concept that possess a rotation parameter of the camera and perspective ration that perspect each line widths into a image. We confirmed accuracy of calibration parameter estimation through experiment on the algorithm with a grid paper with different line widths.
In this paper, we present a robust watermarking technique based on a DCT-domain watermarking approach and an order statistic(OS) filter. The proposed technique inserts one watermark into each of four coefficients within a 2 ${\times}$ 2 block which is scanned on DCT coefficients in the zig-zag ordering from the medium frequency range. The detection algorithm uses an adaptive trimmed mean operator as a local estimator of the embedded watermark to obtain the desired robustness in the presence of additive Gaussian noise and JPEG compression attacks. The performance is analyzed through statistical analysis and numerical experiments. It is shown that the robustness properties against additive noise and JPEG compression attacks are more enhanced than the previous techniques.

An optical method for surface roughness estimation based on statistical analysis of the light intensity of a scattered laser beam pattern. The method is very simple but has a disadvantage that no more information than the averaged roughness is estimated. In this study a new try was conducted to derive more advanced surface information from the details of the light intensity distribution. Some periodic ripples among the light intensity distribution being assumed to relate with scratch left on the machined surface, a corresponding surface profile is estimated from the ripples using FFT and IFFT algorithm. IFFT technique is used to extract some dominant signal components among the intensity distribution. Compared to the measured profiles by a stylus type surf-tester, the profiles obtained through the proposed method are probably acceptable in a sense of the profile shape. Calibration of the amplitude needs more works in the future.
