This study introduces the ORCID, a unique author identifier, and examines the ORCID organization's activities, the advantages given to researchers and research institutes, and the membership status. In addition, this paper examines adoptions and utilizations of ORCID in major countries including USA, UK, Italy, and China. • The author applied the attachment fixation overdenture on the patient whose residual alveolar ridge height was poor to increase mechanical denture retention, and observed the periodontal condition of the abutment roots after insertion of attachment fixation overdenture. The author obtained the conclusions as follows; 1. Attachment fixation overdenture showed better mechanical retention than conventional overdenture did, but it resulted unfavorable crown-root ratio. 2. Within one year after insertion, there were not significant changes in periodontal health, which was indicated by plaque index, gingival index, pocket depth, tooth mobility gingival hyperplasia and alveolar bone change. 3. Mild periodontal thickening was observed. 4. This study emphasized the importance of adequate follow-up care and home care instructions.

  • Soyosan is one of the most famous prescription in Oriental Medicine. It was showed for the first time in "Hwajegukbang(和劑局方)", the book of prescriptions, published in Song Dynasty, 1078. However, Soyosan did not include Maekmundong. Heojun as a author, made "Dong-uibogam" in 1613. Soyosan of "Dong-uibogam" had Maekmundong. In this study, I focused on how to get Maekmundong in "Dong-uibogam". Nonetheless, Soyosan originally didn't have Maekmundong. Soyosan and Maekmundong combined easily when Soyosan controlled disease related with Heat[熱]. Therefore, I suggest author or editor might put Maekmundong to Soyosan in "Dong-uibogam".

  • There occurred a large quantity of death of the cultured carp (Cyprinus carpio) in net pens in Lake Taechong and Lake Chungju(Chungcheongbuk-do) from July through Sep., 1987. The carp were two-year-old and 500g to 2,500g in body weight. As a result of biopsy of dying carp, 1 through 10 egg-shaped giant cysts with 12 through 60mm in diameter were observed in their intestine per one carp. The author suggested that the carp were died from blockade of intestinal tract and following enteritis by the giant cysts. The giant cysts were filled with numerous mature Thelohanellus genus spores confirmed to Thelohanellus kitauei after following examination. In this case the author could find out this disease was spread by transverse infection following infestation in net pens of fingerling fish farms.
