Objective: This study identified angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides in beef M. longissimus injected with thermolysin (80 ppm) and stored for 3 days at $5^{\circ}C$. Methods: Crude peptides (molecular weight <3 kDa) were obtained from the thermolysin hydrolysate and separated into seven fractions. Fraction V showing the highest ACE inhibitory activity was further fractionated, yielding subfractions V-15, V-m1, and V-m2, and selected for superior ACE inhibitory activity. Finally, twelve peptides were identified from the three peak fractions and the ACE inhibitory activity ($IC_{50}$) of each peptide was evaluated. Results: The Leu-Ser-Trp, Phe-Gly-Tyr, and Tyr-Arg-Gln peptides exhibited the strongest ACE inhibitory activity ($IC_{50}$ values of 0.89, 2.69, and 3.09 mM, respectively) and had higher concentrations (6.63, 10.60, and 29.91 pg/g; p<0.05) relative to the other peptides tested. Conclusion: These results suggest that the thermolysin injection process is beneficial to the generation of bioactive peptides with strong ACE inhibitory activity.

We report low operating voltage and long lifetime organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with a vanadium oxide $(V_2O_5)-doped$ N,N'-di(1-naphthyl)- N,N'-diphenylbenzidine $({\alpha}-NPD)$ layer between indium tin oxide and ${\alpha}-NPD$. At a luminance of $1000\;cd/m^2$, $V_2O_5$ doped ${\alpha}-NPD$ device shows a operation voltage of 5.1V, while the device without $V_2O_5$ shows 5.8V. The $V_2O_5$ doped $({\alpha}-NPD)$ device also shows a longer lifetime and smaller operation voltage variation over time. It is suggested that the improved device performance can be attributed to the higher hole-injection efficiency and stability of the $V_2O_5$ doped $({\alpha}-NPD)$ layer.
Objective : This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Hwangryunhaedok-Tang and Geongangbuja-Tang on the change of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ ($TNF-{\alpha}$) level induced by LPS I.C.V. injection in mice. Method : We devided group into 6 mice and 6 mice were assingned to each group. In the normal group only saline was administered intragastrically, and in the control group LPS was injected intracerebroventricularly 1 hr after intragastric administration of saline. In the experiment groups Hwangryunhaedok-Tang(0.5g/kg, 1.0g/kg, 3.0g/kg) was administered intragastrically to mice 1 hr prior to LPS(100mg/mouse) I.C.V. injection.. Also Geongangbuja-Tang (0.5g/kg, 1.0g/kg, 3.0g/kg) was administered intragastrically to mice 1 hr prior to LPS(100mg/mouse) I.C.V. injection. To measure the plasma IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$ level of mice, their blood samples were collected from retro-orbital plexus, immediately centrifuged at $4^{\circ}C$, and plasma was removed and stored frozen at $-83^{\circ}C$ for later determination of IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$. The level of IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$ production was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in the plasma. Result : Regarding IL-6 level, The 0.5g/kg and the 1g/kg groups of Geongangbuja-Tang decreased IL-6 level. Especially the 3g/kg control group decreased IL-6 level significantly than the normal group(p<0.01). Regarding $TNF-{\alpha}$ level, the 3g/kg group of Geongangbuja-Tang decreased it significantly(p<0.05). Conclusion : These data revealed that Hwangryunhaedok-Tang might not have the anti imflammatory effect and Geongangbuja-Tang(3g/kg)might have the anti imflammatory effect by reducing the plasma IL-6 and $TNF-{\alpha}$ level in mice LPS Injection.EIM (Eighteen Incompatible Medicaments) is an important component in Oriental pharmacology and is directly related to clinical prescriptions. Medical practitioners argued that the definite cause and meaning of EIM was ambiguous and therefore debated the issue of clinical application of the EIM. This study conducted an in-depth literary research on the origin, meaning and contents of EIM with the purpose to contribute in its efforts to be used clinically. Even after thousands of years have past since establishment of Oriental medicine, EIM is still tabooed and was an obstacle that hindered ideologies. Modern herbal medicine texts claim that the use of EIM can reduce treatment effects and promote poisoning and side effects. However, since long ago, there has been medical practitioners who reject this as false. Recently, poisoning caused by EIM has been claimed to be from the toxicity of the drug itself, rather than the result of interaction between the drugs, and therefore they suggest that EIM is not a forbidden domain. In addition, EIM showed a difference in number depending on the era. However, this can be understood not as a definite number, but instead as a warning to be careful during combination of drugs for use as clinical medicine. Historically, there were very few cases in which EIM was used for clinical tests and thus, the clinical value is not, while others applied EIM directly to their bodies, which showed signs for the usefulness and potential of EIM for us. A more concrete and in-depth study must be made on EIM.
The present study examined the hypothesis that NMDA, AMPA/Kainate, and metabotropic (mGlu) glutamate receptors contribute to a behavioral stimulation induced by activation of dopamine receptors by comparing responses in apomorphine-induced cage climbing behaviors in mice. MK-801, CNQX, and MCPG were served as the NMDA receptor, AMPA/Kainate receptor, and mGlu receptor antagonist, respectively, to elucidate the glutamatergic modulation in apomorphine-induced eopaminergic activation in mice. Drugs were administered intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) into the mouse brain 15 min before the apomorphine treatment (2 mg/kg, s.c.). 1.c.v. injection of MK-801 inhibited the apomorphine-induced cage climbing behavior dose-dependently. However, treatments with CNQX and MCPG did not any significant change in apomorphine-induced cage climbing behavior in mice. These results suggest that stimulation of NMDA type of glutamate receptors could contribute to the dopaminergic sti mutation, but not AMPA/Kainate and mGlu type glutamate receptors.
Metal/poly (4,4'-aminotriphen-ylene hexafluoroisopropylidenediphthalimide) (TP6F PI)/metal structure exhibited an electrically volatile phase transition with high (OFF) or low (ON) resistive states when voltage between electrodes swept. Here, we demonstrate a noble set-up in which holes are injected by photoelectron emission process during the voltage sweep instead of direct charge carrier injection via metal electrode, which enables direct investigation into changed electronic structures of TP6F PI both in ON and OFF states using photoemission spectroscopy methods. In the I-V measurement, TP6F PI shows a non-volatile behavior. In spectroscopic results, this non-volatile behavior is leaded from the structural modification of the O=C double bond in phthalimide of TP6F PI by hole injection.
The prediction of final mass and optimized process conditions of injection molded products using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) were demonstrated. The ANN was modeled with 10 input parameters and one output parameter (mass). The input parameters, i.e.; melt temperature, mold temperature, injection speed, packing pressure, packing time, cooling time, back pressure, plastification speed, V/P switchover, and suck back were selected. To generate training data for the ANN model, 77 experiments based on the combination of orthogonal sampling and random sampling were performed. The collected training data were normalized to eliminate scale differences between factors to improve the prediction performance of the ANN model. Grid search and random search method were used to find the optimized hyper-parameter of the ANN model. After the training of ANN model, optimized process conditions that satisfied the target mass of 41.14 g were predicted. The predicted process conditions were verified through actual injection molding experiments. Through the verification, it was found that the average deviation in the optimized conditions was 0.15±0.07 g. This value confirms that our proposed procedure can successfully predict the optimized process conditions for the target mass of injection molded products.
A study detennined whether certain biochemical and physiological variables were altered during marginal Zn deficiency. Ten weaned crossbred Hereford Angus heifer calves, weighing $163{\pm}2kg$, were utilized. Five calves were fed a Zn - deficient (- Zn) brome-alfalfa hay diet containing 17 mg Zn/kg diet DM, and five calves were fed a Zn-adequate (+Zn) diet with 23 mg Zn/kg diet DM from $ZnSO_4$ added to the - Zn diet (total diet, 40 mg Zn/kg diet DM), for 32 d. At 21 d the - Zn calves had a reduction (p < .05) in feed efficiency. By 25 d, plasma Zn and alkaline phosphatase concentrations were reduced (p < .05) in the - Zn calves. Blood urea nitrogen, glucose, insulin, IGF-I, Cu plasma concentration and Zn and Cu concentrations of red blood cell (RBC) and liver were not altered (p > .05) by the - Zn diet through 25 d. In response to a single i. m. injection of dexamethasone (20 mg) on d 25, calves fed the two dietary Zn amounts showed no changes (p > .05) in plasma or RBC Zn and Cu concentrations, serum IGF-I, insulin, and glucose when measured at 6, 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96 h after injection. In response to an intradermal injection of phytohemagglutinin on d 30, cell mediated immune (CMI) response was reduced (p < .05) in the - Zn calves. These observations indicate that during a marginal Zn deficiency in calves, there was a decrease in feed efficiency, plasma Zn, serum alkaline phosphatase, and CMI response.
A HPLC-ELSD method was developed to determine saikosaponin derivatives from Bupleuri Radix. Eight saikosaponins, saikosaponin c, i, h, a, $b_2$, g, $b_1$ and d, were analyzed under optimized HPLC conditions [column: Eclipse XDB $C_{18}$ ($150{\times}4.6mm$ i.d., $5{\mu}m$; mobile phase: $H_2O$ with 0.1% $CH_3$COOH (v/v) for solvent A and AcCN with 0.1% $CH_3$COOH (v/v) for solvent B, gradient elution; flow rate: 1mL/min; injection volume: $20{\mu}L$]. Good linearity was achieved in the range from 62.5 to $250{\mu}g/mL$ for each compound, and intra-day precision and accuracy at each concentration level varied between 0.05 and 5.45% and between 93.9 and 109.6%, respectively, whereas those for inter-day variations were between 0.91 to 2.73% and 94.3 to 106.1%. This HPLC-ELSD method was applied for the determination of sakosaponins from Bupleuri Radix samples, and saikosaponin a $(0.79{\pm}0.20mg/g)$, c $(0.33{\pm}0.06mg/g)$ and d $(0.48{\pm}0.15mg/g)$ were observed as major compounds. The other saikosaponins were shown under limit of quantification level thus couldn't be quantified. The present study suggested that the introduced HPLC-ELSD method is selective and reliable, and not only saikosaponin a, but also saikosaponin c and d should be employed as the standard markers for Bupleuri Radix.
The study of photoconductor materials is demanded for development for flat-panel digital x-ray Imager. In this paper, We investigated the feasibility of application as x-ray image sensor using Cd(Zn)Te compound with high stopping power on high radiation. These Cd(Zn)Te samples were fabricated by vacuum thermal evaporation method to large area deposition and investigated I-V measurement as applied voltage. The experimental results show that the additional injection Zn in CdTe film reduced the leakage current, for the $Cd_{0.85}Zn_{0.15}Te$ detector, the net charge had the highest value as $144.58pC/cm^2$ at 30 V.
A dual-gate SOI SA-LIGBT (shorted-anode lateral insulated gate bipolar transistor) which eliminates the snapback effectively is proposed and verified by numerical simulation. The elimination of the snapback in I-V characteristics is obtained by initiating the hole injection at low anode voltage by employing a dual gate and a floating electrode in the proposed device. For the proposed device, the snapback phenomenon is completely eliminate, while snapback of conventional SA-LIGBT occurs at anode voltage of 11 V. Also, the drive signals of two gates have same polarity by employing the floating electrode, thereby requiring no additional power supply.
