Finite Element Study of Ferroresonance in single-phase Transformers Considering Magnetic Hysteresis

  • The occurrence of ferroresonance in electrical systems including nonlinear inductors such as transformers will bring a lot of malicious damages. The intense ferromagnetic saturation of the iron core is the most influential factor in ferroresonance that makes nonsinusoidal current and voltage. So the nonlinear behavior modeling of the magnetic core is the most important challenge in the study of ferroresonance. In this paper, the ferroresonance phenomenon is investigated in a single phase transformer using the finite element method and considering the hysteresis loop. Jiles-Atherton (JA) inverse vector model is used for modeling the hysteresis loop, which provides the accurate nonlinear model of the transformer core. The steady-state analysis of ferroresonance is done while considering different capacitors in series with the no-load transformer. The accurate results from copper losses and iron losses are extracted as the most important specifications of transformers. The validity of the simulation results is confirmed by the corresponding experimental measurements.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the hysteresis characteristics of a stack type piezoelectric actuator using system identification and tracking control. Recently, several printing methods that are cost less and faster than previous semiconductor processes have been developed for the production of electric paper and RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification). The system proposed in this study prints by spraying the molten metal. And this system consist of a nozzle, heating furnace, operating actuator and an XYZ 3-axis stage. As an operating system, the piezoelectric(PZT) actuator is a very useful tool for position control of the metal printing system. However, the PZT actuator has a hysteresis nonlinearity due to the ferroelectric characteristics of the PZT element. This hysteresis causes problem position control characteristics in the system and deteriorates the performance of the system. In this study, an investigation was conducted to improve the hysteresis characteristics of the PZT actuator that has an output displacement for the input voltage. In order to reduce the hysteresis nonlinearity of the PZT actuator, this proposed a inverse hysteresis model and a mathematic modeling method that can express the geometric relationship between voltage and displacement. In addition, system identification and PID control methods were examined. Also, it was confirmed that the proposed control strategy gives good tracking performance.

Seismic demand estimation of electrical cabinet in nuclear power plant considering equipment-anchor-interaction

  • This paper investigates the seismic behavior of an electrical cabinet considering the influence of equipment-anchor-interaction (EAI) that is generally not taken into consideration in a decoupled analysis. The hysteresis behavior of an anchor bolt in concrete was thereby considered to highlight this interaction effect. To this end, the experimental behavior of an anchor bolt under reversed cyclic loading was taken from the recently developed literature, and a numerical model for the anchor hysteresis was developed using the component approach. The hysteresis properties were then used to calibrate the multi-linear link element that is implemented as a boundary condition for the cabinet incorporating the EAI. To highlight this EAI further, the nonlinear time history analysis was performed for a cabinet considering the hysteresis behavior comparative to a fixed boundary condition. Additionally, the influence on the seismic fragility was evaluated for the operational and structural condition of the cabinet. The numerical analysis considering the anchor hysteresis manifests that the in-cabinet response spectra (ICRS) are significantly amplified with the corresponding reduction in the seismic capacity of 25% and 15% for an operational and structural safety condition under the selected protocols. Considering the fixed boundary condition over a realistic hysteresis behavior of the anchor bolt is more likely to overestimate the seismic capacity of the cabinet in a seismic qualification procedure.

히스테리시스를 갖는 미세 구동기의 실시간 제어 알고리즘 (Preisach model based Real-time control for systems with Hysteresis)

  • 본 논문에서는 자기변형재료를 이용한 미세 구동기의 개발과 실시간 제어 알고리즘에 관한 내용을 다룬다. 자기변형재료는 빠른 응답속도, 미세변위동작, 높은 에너지 효율 등의 장점을 가지고 있어 미세 구동기의 재료로 적합하지만 히스테리시스 특성도 함께 갖고 있어 제어에 많은 어려움이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 자기변형재료의 히스테리시스를 제어하기위해 Preisach model을 바탕으로 구동기를 모델링 하였다. 기존의 Preisach 모델은 실험적 데이터를 바탕으로 하기 때문에 정밀한 제어를 하기 위해서는 많은 양의 데이터가 필요하고 결과적으로는 처리해야할 데이터의 양이 많아져 연산하는데 많은 시간이 걸리는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 기존의 Preisach 모델의 데이터를 선행 처리하여 일정구간 구동기의 움직임을 저장해 놓은 확장된 Preisach 모델을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 Tefenol-D라는 자기변형재료를 사용하여 미세구동기를 제작하고 제어 실험을 통하여 제안된 모델의 우수성을 증명하였다.

Identification of the Jiles-Atherton Model Parameters Using Simulated Annealing Method

  • This paper presents a method and the experimental measurement system for the determination of Jiles-Atherton model parameters of the 30ZH120 electrical steel sheet. The paper utilizes Epstein Square devices to proceed with the experiment and measurement on a group of hysteresis loops of some certain transformers which use the 30ZH120 electrical steel sheet under two different lap ways. The approach relies on the simulated annealing optimization method in order to minimize the error between the measured and modeled hysteresis curves and yield the best five Jiles-Atherton model parameters. A convenient program, based on the Simulink platform, that can identify the J-A model parameters automatically from the experimental saturated hysteresis loop which is used to model the nonlinear characteristics of the electrical steel sheet, is developed. Research shows that the simulated annealing optimization method gets satisfactory results.

  • 최근 바람 및 지진에 대한 진동제어를 목적으로 한 저항복점강재를 이용한 댐퍼가 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 전체 구조물의 진동에 영향을 미치는 저항복점강재의 동적특성 및 지진에너지 소산효과는 명확히 밝혀지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 저항복점감재에 대한 반복재하실험 결과 및 저항복점감재를 정착한 3층 규모의 구조물에 대하여 실시한 강제진동시험의 결과에 대해 보고한다. 또한 저항복점강재의 지진에너지 소산양의 정량적인 평가를 위하여 수학적 이력형모델 및 등가선형해석법을 이용하여 평가한 결과에 대해 보고한다.

Moment-curvature hysteresis model of angle steel frame confined concrete columns

  • The angle steel frame confined concrete columns (ASFCs) are an emerging form of hybrid columns, which comprise an inner angle steel frame and a concrete column. The inner angle steel frame can provide axial bearing capacity and well confining effect for composite columns. This paper presents the experimental and theoretical studies on the seismic behaviour of ASFCs. The experimental study of the 6 test specimens is presented, based on the previous study of the authors. The theoretical study includes two parts. One part establishes the section analysis model, and it uses to analyze section axial force-moment-curvature. Another part establishes the section moment-curvature hysteresis model. The test and analysis results show that the axial compression ratio and the assembling of steel slabs influence the local buckling of the angle steel. The three factors (axial compression ratio, content of angle steel and confining effect) have important effects on the seismic behaviour of ASFCs. And the theoretical model can provide reasonably accurate predictions and apply in section analysis of ASFCs.
