칼슘과 마그네슘염을 이용한 염색폐수의 응집처리 (Treatment of Dyeing Wastewater by Flocculation with Calsium and Magnesium salts)

  • The changes of conventional clarification process and an increase in treatment cost are required to meet increasingly stringent regulations related to the treated water quality. Although many enhanced coagulations have introduced to improve organic matter removal, the results to remove color, nitrogen and phosphorus as well as organic material have not been very efficient yet. The removal of waste matters such as SS, organic matter, color and turbidity contained in dyeing wastewater was carried out by using the combination of calcium hydroxide and magnesium sulfate. The flocculation was investigated as a function of coagulant dose, pH, mixing time, settling time and coagulant addition modes such as the sequential addition of the two coagulants and the simultaneous addition of them. The flocculation by the combination of calcium hydroxide and magnesium sulfate was compared with that by aluminum sulfate. The mechanism of flocculation was investigated as well. About 84% of color in dyeing watewater was removed by flocculation with combination of calcium hydroxide and magnesium sulfate.

알칼리 처리에 따른 폐골목 및 굴참나무의 효소당화 특성 비교 (Comparison of enzymatic hydrolysis characteristics of mushroom culutured waste (MCW) and Cork oak by alkali treatment)

  • The mushroom cultured waste(MCW) from cork oak was evaluated as the raw material for bioethanol production. For enzymatic hydrolysis, cellulase cocktails (Celluclast 1.5L and Novozym 188) was used for polysaccharides to monosaccharides conversion. Compared with sound cork oak woodmeal, woodmeal from MCW showed higher cellulose to glucose conversion. To improve polysaccharides to monosaccharides conversion, pretreatment by sodium hydroxide was applied. Even though more xylan and lignin were removed in woodmeal of MCW than that of cork oak, concentration of glucose was higher from sodium hydroxide treated cork oak woodmeal (51.3 g/L) than treated MCW woodmeal (41.6 g/L).

  • Ettringite의 생성에 미치는 pH의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 ettringite 합성시 boric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid 및 potassium hydroxide를 첨가하여 pH를 변화시켰다. 이때 XRD, SEM 분석을 통해 ettringite의 생성에 미치는 영향성을 검토하였다. 시험결과 pH10 이하에서는 석고와 aluminate gel이 안정화되어 ettringite 생성이 저해됨을 알수있었다

하소온도가 Magnesia의 치밀화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Calcination Temperature on Densification of Magnesia)

  • The effect of calcination temperature of Mg(OH)2 on the green density and densification of MgO was investigated. It was observed that the impure magnesium hydroxide powder showed a higher crystallization rate while it had a lower tendency of agglomeration between periclae crystallites, as compared to that of the pure magnesium hydroxide powder. In the case of calcination of the powders under 85$0^{\circ}C$, the impure powder showed the higher green and sintered density. In spite of higher green density upon the calcination over 100$0^{\circ}C$, the impure powder showed the lower sintered density, caused by exaggerated growth of the periclase crystallites. The highest sintered densities in the both powders were obtained at the calcination temperature of 100$0^{\circ}C$. And the green density was inversely proportional to the sintered density at the calcination over 100$0^{\circ}C$.

  • 낮은 방사능의 $^{99m}$ Mo으로부터 methyl ethyl ketone으로 추출하여 제조된 Na $^{99m}$ TcO$_4$를 가지고 폐검진에 사용되고 있는 $^{99m}$ Tc Ferric Hydroxide Macroaggregates를 제조하였으며 여러 pH 범위에서 입자의 크기와 수가 변하는 모양을 검토하였고 pH 6-7에서 평균입자의 크기가 scanning에 가장 적당한 20~60$\mu$이었다. 토끼와 인체에 주사하여 좋은 곁과를 얻었다.

국내 수돗물의 부식성 특성 및 개선방안 (Characteristics and Improvement of Tap Water Corrosivity in Korea)

  • To investigate corrosivity characteristics of tap water in Korea, Langelier index (LI) of 30 multi-regional water treatment plants (WTPs) were evaluated. Weekly LI values of 30 WTPs were all negative, which means tap water in Korea might be very corrosive. Maximum LI decrease through water treatment processes was 0.95 under no additional corrosion control process. Based on the correlation results between LI and tap water qualities, pH and calcium concentration were confirmed as major parameters for LI control. Addition of calcium hydroxide with $CO_{2}$ or calcium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide can be chosen based on water quality. Continuous monitoring of LI and related parameters is recommended in water distribution system.

건조 수침고목재의 원형회복 실험 (Shape recovering trials from dried waterlogged wood)

  • When waterlogged wood dries up, it shrinks largely. And it is hard to recover original shape. Therefore it happens to lose the value of wood remains frequently. This paper studied how far dried waterlogged wood can recover original shape. Shape recovering course and extent are thoroughly investigated after waterlogged wood of Pinus densiflora, Quercus serrata and Styrax japonica oven-dries and instills varieties of test solution. At 1- step, oven-dried samples infiltrated by chlorous acid sodium or sodium hydroxide solution. At 2- step, wood tissues of samples were swelled by the fast decompression after infiltrating $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid at high pressure. The study investigated the possibility of shape recovering in waterlogged wood. Shape recovering rate is different with solution and wood species. Sample of sodium hydroxide solution doesn't swell anymore when using $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid. In general, the sample of sodium hydroxide solution has higher Shape recovering rate than $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid solution treated by chlorous acid sodium.

Preparation and Analysis of Functional Hydrogel Lenses Using Cerium Iron Hydroxide Nanoparticles

  • This study used cerium iron hydroxide nanoparticle with HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), the cross-linker EGDMA (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate), NVP (N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) and the initiator AIBN (azobisisobutyronitrile) for copolymerization. Also, the physical properties of the prepared lenses were compared, and their applicability as polymers for ophthalmic materials was experimented. The results of the measurement showed that the UV blocking rate and the wettability increased with the cerium iron hydroxide nanoparticles addition ratio, and the refractive index and water content were not affected. Thus, the produced copolymer is expected to be useful as a functional contact lens material while satisfying the basic physical properties of the hydrogel contact lens.

  • The aim of the research is assessing the possibility of recovering the compressive strength of the mortar mixture replaced excessively high volume of blast furnace slag accidently. As a result of the experiment, in the case of compressive strength, painting sodium oxide showed higher compressive strength recovery effect than painting calcium oxide. As a curing temperature, 20℃ showed advanced result rather than 65℃. From the wet curing, the reaction was confirmed, deeper penetration depth was checked at 20℃ than 60℃ temperature. Therefore for the concrete mixture with excessively high volume of blast furnace slag, it is considered that painting sodium hydroxide and curing 20℃ can recover the compressive strength effectively.

실리콘 웨이퍼 습식 식각장치 설계 및 공정개발 (Design of Single-wafer Wet Etching Bath for Silicon Wafer Etching)

  • Silicon wafer etching in micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) fabrication is challenging to form 3-D structures. Well known Si-wet etch of silicon employs potassium hydroxide (KOH), tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). However, the existing silicon wet etching process has a fatal disadvantage that etching of the back side of the wafer is hard to avoid. In this study, a wet etching bath for 150 mm wafers was designed to prevent back-side etching of silicon wafer, and we demonstrated the optimized process recipe to have anisotropic wet etching of silicon wafer without any damage on the backside. We also presented the design of wet bath for 300 mm wafer processing as a promising process development.
