2절점 회전형 마찰요소의 구조성능 평가 (Evaluation on Structural Performance of Two-nodal Rotary Frictional Component)

  • Various hybrid dampers have been developed in Korea to control the vibration due to a wind and earthquake. In order to minimize the installment space, cost and construction process, the new hybrid friction damper is developed. This hybrid damper is composed of several rotary friction components having two frictional joint. Because of these components, the building vibration due to wind and earthquake can be mitigated by hybrid friction damper. In this paper, various dependency tests were carried out to evaluate on the structural performance of two joint rotational friction component of the hybrid damper. Test results show that two joint rotational components do not depend on a displacement and a frequency of forcing but friction coefficients is reducing as a clamping force is increasing.

복합알람밸브의 강도안전성에 관한 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis on the Strength Safety of a Hybrid Alarm Valve)

  • This paper presents the strength safety of a hybrid alarm valve by a finite element analysis. The stress and strain of a conventional hybrid alarm valve are calculated for the given maximum test pressure of 2MPa. Especially, the FEM computed maximum stress of a conventional hybrid valve is only 18.6% of yield strength, 370MPa. This means that the conventional valve is designed with a thick thickness of a valve structure. But, new hybrid alarm valve model, which is developed by optimized design method in this study, shows more low level of 43% in maximum stress and strain compared with that of a conventional hybrid valve. These results may recommend the reduction of a weight and a dimension for an optimized hybrid alarm valve.

Hybrid Effects of Carbon-Glass FRP Sheets in Combination with or without Concrete Beams

  • The use of carbon fibers (CF) and glass fibers (GF) were combined to strengthen concrete flexural members. In this study, data of tensile tests of 94 hybrid carbon-glass FRP sheets and 47 carbon and GF rovings or sheets were thoroughly investigated in terms of tensile behavior. Based on comparisons between the rule of mixtures and test data, positive hybrid effects were identified for various (GF/CF) ratios. Unlike the rule of mixtures, the hybrid sheets with relatively low (GF/CF) ratios also produced pseudo-ductility. From the calibrated results obtained from experiments, a new analytical model for the stress-strain relationship of hybrid FRP sheets was proposed. Finally, the hybrid effects were verified by structural tests of concrete members strengthened with hybrid FRP sheets and either carbon or glass FRP sheets.

  • This research investigates computer generated hybrid second-order model of two numerically based approaches to risk classification : discriminant analysis and neural networks. The hybrid second-order models are derived by rule induction using the ID3 and tested in the several different kinds of data. This new hybrid approach is designed to combine the high prediction accuracy and robustness of DA or NN with perspicuity of ID3. The hybrid model also eliminates the problem of contradictory inputs of ID3. After doing empirical test for the validity of hybrid model using small and medium companies' bankrupt data, hybrid model shows high perspicuity, high prediction accuracy for bankrupt, and simplicity for rules. The hybrid model also shows high performance regardless the type of data such as numeric data, non-numeric data, and combined data.

  • Square tubes used for vehicle structure components have an important role on keeping its stiffness and preserving occupant safety in vehicle collision and rollover in which it experience axial collapse, bending collapse or both. Bending collapse, which absorbs kinetic energy of the impact and retains a survival space for the occupant, is a dominant failure mode in oblique collision and rollover. Thus, in this paper, the bending collapse characteristics such as the maximum bending moment and energy absorption capacity of the square tube replaced by light-weight material were evaluated and presented. The bending test of cantilever tubes which were fabricated with aluminum, GFRP and aluminum/ GFRP hybrid by co-curing process was performed. Then the maximum bending moment and the energy absorption capacity from the moment-angle curve were evaluated. Based on the test results, it was found that aluminum/ GFRP hybrid tube can show better specific energy absorption capacity compared to the pure aluminum or GFRP tube and can convert unstable collapse mode which may occur in pure GFRP tube to stable collapse mode like a aluminum tube in which plastic hinge is developed.

하이브리드형 슈퍼커패시터의 실험적 특성 규명 (Experimental Characteristics Examination of a Hybrid-Type Supercapacitor)

  • Several types of supercapacitors have been developed for energy storage systems. Among them, the hybrid type has advantages such as a large capacitance per weight compared with the electric double-layer capacitator type. In this study, constant current charging and discharging tests were conducted for recently developed hybrid-type supercapacitors. Based on the experimental results, the capacitance and equivalent series resistance were obtained. The capacitance was larger than the designed capacitance at a low current but became small at a high current. In addition, the capacitance depended on the cell voltage. These results can be used to design an energy storage system.

부식된 FRP Hybrid Bar의 휨 내력 및 초음파 속도 특성 (Characteristics of Flexural Capacity and Ultrasonic in RC member with Corroded Steel and FRP Hybrid Bar)

  • 콘크리트는 내구적인 건설재료이지만 철근부식에 따라 내구성 문제가 발생하고 이는 구조적인 안전성 문제로 진전된다. 최근 들어 개발된 FRP hybrid bar는 기존의 FRP와 강재의 장점을 가진 것으로 본 연구에서는 이에 대한 촉진부식실험을 수행하여 휨내력저하를 평가하였다. 또한 촉진부식실험 전후에 초음파속도를 측정하여 부식에 따른 속도변화를 분석하였다. FRP hybrid bar를 매립한 RC 시편에서는 휨 내력저하가 발생하지 않았지만, 일반강재를 매립한 부재에서는 평균 11.5%의 휨 내력저하가 발생했으며, 3.3%의 초음파 속도 감소가 평가되었다. FRP hybrid bar의 내부식성은 매우 우수한 것으로 평가되었으나 실용화를 위해서는 장기침지에 따른 부착성검토가 필요하다.

화상분석법을 이용한 하이브리드 콘크리트의 공극구조 특성 및 투수성 평가 (Estimation of Pore Structure Characteristic and Permeability of Hybrid Concrete by Image Analysis Method)

  • PURPOSES : In this study, an image analysis method is used to evaluate the pore structure characteristics and permeability of hybrid concrete. METHODS : The binder weight of hybrid concrete is set to $400kg/m^3$, $370kg/m^3$, and $350kg/m^3$, and for each value of binder weight, the pore structure and permeability of concrete mixture is evaluated. The permeability of hybrid concrete is evaluated using a rapid chloride penetration test(RCPT). RESULTS : The concrete pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete reveals that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. The permeability of the hybrid concrete for all values was measured to be below 1000 C, which indicates a "Very Low" level of permeability relative to the evaluation standard of KS F 2711. Additionally, as the binder weight is decreased, there is a significant increase in the permeability of chloride ions. CONCLUSIONS : In this study, the pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete at different binder weights shows that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. Consequently, chloride ion penetration resistance of the hybrid concrete is diminished. As a result, it is expected that this will reduce the concrete's durability.

철근부식을 고려한 FRP Hybrid Bar 및 일반 철근을 가진 RC 보의 내력저하 평가 (Evaluation of Load Capacity Reduction in RC Beam with Corroded FRP Hybrid Bar and Steel)

  • RC(Reinforced Concrete) 부재는 인장영역에서 보강재가 하중을 지지해야 하므로, 철근부식은 내구성 뿐 아니라 안전성에서도 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 최근 개발된 FRP Hybrid Bar와 일반 철근을 매립한 RC 보부재를 제작하였으며, ICM(Impressed Current Method)를 적용하여 철근부식을 촉진시켰다. 기존의 이론식인 Faraday 법칙을 이용하여 부식량을 평가하였으며, 일반설계강도를 가진 콘크리트 보부재에 대하여 휨시험을 수행하였다. 일반 철근에서는 부식량이 4.9~7.8% 수준으로 평가되었으며 이에 따른 휨 저항능력은 -25.4~-50.8% 수준으로 감소하였다. FRP Hybrid Bar를 매립한 RC 보에서는 부식과 휨 저항 감소가 평가되지 않았는데, 이는 에폭시 도료로 코팅된 철근의 우수한 내부식성에 기인한다. 촉진 부식실험에서는 FRP Hybrid Bar의 우수한 내부식성 및 부착성능을 확인하였는데, 실용화를 위해서는 장기적인 침지를 통한 내구성 평가가 필요하다고 판단된다.

  • This study investigates the behaviour of Hybrid Beam with reinforced concrete encased steel center and reinforced concrete end. Two types of encased steel shape and two sections are examined in this study. Test results showed that H-Hybrid beam is stronger than Honey-comb Hybrid beam, and the behaviour of composite beam embedded steel at the elastic state is same as that of simple beam.
