리기다 소나무 유묘(幼苗)에 기생(寄生)하는 병원성(病原性) Alternaria균(菌)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) - 제2보(第二報) (Studies on the Pathogenic Alternaria Isolated from Seedlings of Pinus rigida Mill. - part II)

  • 본대학묘포(本大學苗圃)의 리기다소나무 파종상(播種床)에서 입고증상(立枯症狀)의 이병묘(罹病苗)로 부터 분리(分離)한 Alternaria SP.균(菌)의 발육(發育)에 미치는 H-ion농도(濃度)의 영향(影響), 분생포자발아(分生胞子發芽)에 미치는 온도습도(溫度濕度)의 영향(影響) 분생포자형성(分生胞子形成)에 미치는 온도(溫度) 습도(濕度)의 영향(影響)에 대(對)하여 시험(試驗)한바를 요약(要略)하면 다음과 같다.1. 본균(本菌) 발육(發育)에 적당(適當)한 PH의 범위(範圍)는 4.0~9.5로 PH 간(間)의 균발육(菌發育)에 그리 큰 영향(影響)을 나타내지는 않으나 기중(其中) PH 6.5~8.0에서 발육(發育)이 가장 좋았다. 2 발생포자(發生胞子)는 $0^{\circ}C$이하(以下) $40^{\circ}C$이상(以上)의 온도(溫度)에서는 발아(發芽)가 억제(抑制)되고 $5^{\circ}C{\sim}35^{\circ}C$가 발아적온(發芽適溫)이나 기중(其中)에서 $20^{\circ}C$서 발아율(發芽率)이 가장 높았다. 관계온도(關係溫度) 10%이하(以下)에서는 발아(發芽)하지 않았고 85%이상(以上)에서 발아율(發芽率)이 좋았다. 3. 분생포자(分生胞子) $10^{\circ}C$이하(以下) $34^{\circ}C$이상(以上)에서는 형성(形成)되지 않고 온도(溫度) $22^{\circ}C{\sim}28^{\circ}C$ 범위(範圍)에서 관계습도(關係濕度) 85%이상(以上)인 경우(境遇) 형성율(形成率)이 가장 좋았다.

  • The purpose of this study was to design an instrument to simulate the Human-Clothing-Environment system and evaluate the water vapour transport properties of sweat absorbent PET fabrics. The instrument was composed of sweat generating part, clothing part which can simulate clothing layers, and enviromental part. As specimens, sweat absorbent PET, regular PET, cotton, nylon and acrylics fabrics were included. For the water vapour transport(WVT), relative humidities and temperatures were measured by film type humidity sensors and thermocouples, respectively. Water vapour pressures were calculated with measured RH's and temperatures. For the liquid water transport, wickability and demand wettability were measured. Results showed that there was a difference in terms of water vapour transport mechanism depending on the fiber type ; sweat absorbent PET showed higher WVT at the transient period then equilibrated, whereas other fabrics showed lower WVT at the transient period then increased continuously. These differences are expected to affect to the difference in the comfort properties of clothings. Sweat absorbent PET showed higher demand wettability and wickability than other fabrics. Wide application of the instrument was also suggested.

고분자 전해질 연료전지의 전해질 막내의 함수율과 성능 예측 (Prediction of Fuel Cell Performance and Water Content in the Membrane of a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell)

  • A one-dimensional numerical analysis is carried out to investigate the effects of inlet gas humidities, inlet gas pressures, and thicknesses of membrane on the performance of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell. It is found that the relative humidity of inlet gases at anode and cathode sides has a significant effect on the fuel cell performance. Especially, the desirable fuel cell performance occurs at low relative humidity of the cathode side and at high humidity of the anode side. In addition, an increase in the pressure ranging from 1 atm to 4 atm at the cathode side results in a significant improvement in the fuel cell performance due to the convection effect by a pressure gradient toward the anode side, and with decreasing the thickness of membrane, the fuel cell performance is enhanced reasonably.

대구의 도시건조화 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Characteristics of Urban Dryness in Daegu)

  • It is well known that urban relative humidity has continuous decreasing trend owing to the influence of urbanization. The change of relative humidity is directly influenced by two factors, namely, temperature effect and water vapor effect in various urban effects. In this study, the temperature and tile water vapor effects on the relative humidity change were analyzed by using monthly mean relative humidities for a long period($1961{\sim}2005$) in Daegu and Chupungnung. The major results obtained in this study can be summarized as follows. Firstly, the urban dryness was caused mainly by water vapor effect in summer. But, for the other seasons, the urban dryness is mainly due to the temperature effect. Secondly, the relative humidity in Daegu is on the decrease until now. This phenomenon is similar to another Korean huge cities such as Seoul, Daejeon and Incheon. But, it is different compared with Japanese huge cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, indicating a standstill in relative humidity change after 1980s.

감자의 품질안정성에 대한 저장 온.습도의 영향 (Effect of Storage Temperature and Humidity on the Quality Stability of Potatoes)

  • Potatoes, Irish cobbler, were subject to quality evaluation from the physiological and physicochemical points of view during storage under different temperatures and relative humidities for 11 months. Quality criteria were sprouting, rotting, weight changes, moisture, total sugar, reducing sugar and vitamin C. Low temperature condition(LT, 2∼4$^{\circ}C$, 80% RH) was enough to preserve Potatoes for 11 months, but it was indicated to be limitations that the increase in reducig sugar as well as sprouting by about 3.3 to 6.7% occurred from the 3rd month of storage. Meanwhile, pit temperature(PT, 3∼15$^{\circ}C$, 75∼85% RH), room temperature(RT, 7∼17$^{\circ}C$, 80∼95% RH) and ambient temperature(AT, 2∼25$^{\circ}C$, 62∼72 RH) were shown infeasible conditions for the storage of potatoes mainly due to the increase In sprouting-rate and subsequent quality-loss after 3 months of storage. Based on the results, it proposed that more economical conditions, ranging 10 to 15$^{\circ}C$ and about 80% RH following sprout inhibition treatment should be used for the long-term storage of potatoes.

대구지방의 기상자료를 기초로한 벼의 상온통풍건조에 관한 조사연구 (Investigation of Natural Air Drying of Rough Rice Based on The Weather Data in Taegu Area)

  • Natural-air drying systems have been extensively used for cereal grains, and many researches on the systems have been conducted in foreign countries. However, little research on drying rough rice with natural air has been done. Especially . little research on natural air drying of rough rice based on weather data has been done in Korean. The objective of this study was to present fundamental data for estimating optimum requirements and basic information available for natural air drying of rough rice based on the weather data . The weather data analyzed in this study were the 10-year (1969 to 1978) record of air temperatures, wet-bulb temperatures and relative humidities, which were three-hourly observations in Taegu area. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1 From the results of weather data analysis the average air temperature was about $14.8^\circ$and the average relative humidty 67.5% . Average equilibrium moisture content appeared to be 13.8 percent on wet basis, which showed great potential for natural air drying in Taegue area in October. 2. Possible fan operation time based on the equilibrium moisture content of 15% on wet basis was about 14 hours a day during October in Taegu area. Probabilities of possible drying days based on minimum time available for drying in a day were analyzed. 3. Minimum air flow requirements based on the worst year were determined for different fan operation methods and initial moisture contents.

신조 운항실습선의 여름철 실내 온열환경 실측평가 (A Measurement and Evaluation on the Indoor Thermal Conditions in Summer of a New Training ship)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze the ship's indoor thermal conditions and also to integrate experimental database of those which are supplied and controlled by marine HVAC. On this study, temperature, humidity and air volume of 6 different needs' cabin are measured like previous report on a newly-launched training ship during 25th through 27th of July, 2007. Followings are the results of this study. (1)The air supply volumes to each cabins are measured 250CMH(Recreation room), 800CMH(Conference room), 1.000CMH(Bridge), 5,100CMH(Lecture room) respectively. (2)The temperatures are maintained at $21{\sim}27^{\circ}C$ in almost cabins through measuring period, but the temperatures are fluctuated over ${\pm}4^{\circ}C$ at the bridge and conference room. (3)The relative humidities are shown between $40{\sim}60%$ known as comfort conditions, but the conference room is needed to dehumidified because of over 70% humidity. (4)From the student cabins' measurements which have different supply diffuser(s), it is clear that the design is suitable for this case. (5)Because of temperature diversities, only 32% among the measured data are satisfied with the comfort standard range proposed by ASHREA.

Viability Loss of Bacteriophage MS2 Exposed to Bronze Alloy Yugi

  • Cross contamination of foodborne virus via food utensils can be an important route of virus propagation. Bacteriophage MS2 was used as a surrogate for norovirus. The viability loss of bacteriophage MS2 attached to 4 kinds of metal surfaces was investigated at different temperatures and relative humidities (RH). The rate of viability loss was higher at $22^{\circ}C$ than at $10^{\circ}C$ and was higher at 75% RH than at 40% RH. The viability loss of the virus attached to copper or bronze surface was faster than on stainless steel or tin surface. Also the beef juice applied with the virus inoculum on the metal surfaces lowered the rate of viability loss. Although bronze was not as effective as copper in resulting the viability loss, it has been extensively used as a traditional Korean kitchen utensil and could be used more widely to decrease the viral poisoning at food processing environment and hospitals.

유채 종자의 수본확산계수에 관한 연구 (Estimation of Effective Moisture Diffusivity of Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.))

  • The effective moisture diffusivity and its dependence on drying temperature during drying of rapeseed were experimentally investigated. The data were recorded from thin layer drying experiments at nine different combinations of drying air temperatures of 40, 50, and $60^{\circ}C$ and the relative humidities of 30, 45, and 60%. The moisture diffusion equation was analyzed using stepwise multiple regression analysis. Effective moisture diffusivities were calculated based on the moisture diffusion equation for a spherical shape using Fick's second law. The effective diffusivities during the drying of rapeseed were $l.72{\times}10^{-11}$, $2.41{\times}10^{-11}$ and $3.31{\times}10^{-11}\;m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$ at 40, 50 and $60^{\circ}C$, respectively. The activation energy for moisture diffusion during drying was $28.47\;kJ{\cdot}mol^{-1}$. The dependence of moisture diffusivity on temperature was described by an Arrhenius-type equation. Drying occurred in the falling rate period and the internal moisture diffusion phenomenon is the governing physical mechanism of the moisture movement in the particles.

보텍스 사이클론을 이용한 Toluene과 CO2 처리효율에 관한 연구 (A Study on Treatment Efficiency of Toluene and CO2 using Vortex Cyclones)

  • The principle of vortex tube and cyclone was introduced to enhance the treatment efficiency of waste air streams containing particulate matters, toluene, and others developed by Hangreen Tech, Ltd. and Hoseo Chemical and Industrial Technology R&D Center. Adsorption, condensation, and/or coagulation could be induced at low temperature zone formed by vortex tube and Joule-Thomson expansion. The pressurized air was introduced at the tangential direction into the cyclone system applied with the coaxial funnel tube. Easily condensible vapors such as toluene. carbon dioxide, and water vapor were adsorbed enforcedly on coagulated or condensed materials which were formed as cores for coagulation or condensation by themselves. These types of coagulation or condensation rates were rapidly promoted as the diameter being growing up. The maximum removal efficiency for carbon dioxide and toluene was achieved to about 87 and 90 percent, respectively. The Joule-Thomson coefficients were increased with the pressure of air injected in the range of the relative humidities between 10% and 30%. An optimum value was observed within the range of the tested temperatures at a fixed pressure. In conclusion. it could be identified that the treatment efficiency would be depended on the pressure of the process air introduced and physical and chemical characteristics of waste air streams containing target materials for a designed system. The final design parameters should be decided depending upon the given system and target materials.
