  • Based on the recent consensus on the need for software education, software education has become mandatory in universities in Korea. However, the suitability of class contents and the relationship between class contents and learner satisfaction has not been fully discussed. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the suitability of the contents used in the basic software education for the humanities students from the learner's perspective. For this purpose, three types of curriculum, which are 'computer science', 'usage of tools, and humanities in the digital world' and 'computational thinking', were compared using the lecture assessment questionnaire. As a result, we found that the learners evaluated positively over the curriculum that focused on the use of tools, the humanities approach, or the thinking ability rather than the theoretical contents of computer science. We also found that the subjects related to computer science could not give high satisfaction due to their unfamiliarity, relatively low academic value was given to the tool-centered curriculum, and fatigue was expressed in discussion-based thinking ability education.

This study aims to understand the in depth meaning of the course among the participants of the self-supporting programs in Korea. For this aim, data were collected mainly from the intensive interviews with 7 research participants who have finished both the general and in depth courses offered by Seoul Metropolitan government. Through the study, 4 substantial themes were drawn; 'exploration and acceptance of the unfamiliar', 'new understanding of the self through reflection', 'reconstruction of the self with humanistic value', 'continuous seeking for humanistic life'. As a result, the meaning of humanities learning was found to be 'recovering his/her own originality' or 'living like a decent human being'. Understanding both the results and difficulties that had to be overcome during the course, some practical and policy implications could be drawn.

Each journal's multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity were measured by journal-level entropy and document-level entropy, respectively, in the citation relationships. According to the analysis, GM field journals have wide ranges of multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity. To improve classification quality of journals in GM fields, the general humanities should be considered as a new classification class for the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary journals in the humanities. Furthermore, this study proposes a strategy to reclassify GM field journals of HSS according to their multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity.

  • In 2021, the 150th anniversary of Proust's birth, and in 2022, the 100th anniversary of his death, the interest in À la recherche du temps perdu increased. We took advantage of a digital humanities approach to make these seven novels known as difficult easily accessible to French literature major korean students. We let the students analyze using the analyzing tools for the big data and find some clues to understand the works through the visualized data. We picked out the main characters and places that appear in his works with Wordcloud, and checked the awareness of Proust in domestic and foreign through the various sites to analyze the big data, such as Big Kinds and Textom. Through the methodology of digital humanities, the students commented that they have gradually enlarged their understanding breadth for Proust's 『In Search of Lost Time』 rather than giving up it as difficult. This study confirmed that applying the big data analysis and digital humanities is an appropriate teaching method in finding ways for the students to broaden the understanding of French literature.
