One of the main cases of the desertification impact is the negative contribution of human activities that worsen environment. There are historical facts of inability and excessive activities which destroyed the civilizations. The basic difference is only in the tempo and scales of civilization collapse. Human pressure was accumulated within the centuries and millennia due to the extremely active economic activities. But today it covers only the decades. Presently the process of desertification has a global scale. There are huge factors of Earth aridization as an increase of the quantity of C02 and atmospheric dust and bloom. This process related not only to the arid areas. Obviously a comprehensive approach of development of territories, particularly arid areas is very important. The use of the satellite information and technologies of remote sensing data processing can take a significant place for decision-makers for calculation and estimation of the environment impacts.

본 연구는 비교종교학 방법과 대순사상에 관한 문헌학적 방법을 활용하여 대순사상의 영성인본주의를 규명한 글이다. 비교종교 분석은 역사현장에서 드러난 종교의 다양함을 연구대상으로 하기에 종교본질이라는 선험적 틀을 전제하지 않는다. 그렇다고 사회과학처럼 심리현상이나 사회현상으로 분해하고 환원시키지도 아니한다. 오늘날 종교다원주의 출현으로 종교 간의 유사성에 집중하는 풍토가 기정사실화 되었다. 아울러 현대영성으로 많은 영성운동들이 특정종교 제약을 받지 않고 혼합주의 성격을 드러내고 있음도 뚜렷한 변화양상이다. 세속적 인본주의에서도 도구화를 극복하고 본래적 초월성을 회복할 때가 도래한 것이라고 주장한다. 이는 대순사상의 후천개벽과 관련하여 현대문명의 병폐와 위기를 극복해야 한다는 인식지평으로 다가온다. 실제적으로 문명파괴의 악행주범은 도구화되거나 변질된 이성의 영역이다. 이에 이성너머 영성회통의 가능성에 대한 탐구가 절실하게 요청되고 있다. 종교는 인류의 지성결정체로서 인간완성과 구원에 목적을 둔다. 그런데 선천의 절대자 인식이 종교 간의 갈등을 증폭시키고 각각의 색다른 경험을 통해 그 지역에 부합한 사상을 형성하게 됨으로 정신사적 균열에 커다란 영향을 미쳤다. 선천시기에는 종교마다 대립하고 투쟁하였지만 종교다원주의 시대에 진입하면서 영성회통의 필요성이 절실해졌다. 이에 비교종교학 방법과 문헌해석학 방법을 병행하여 대순사상의 영성인본주의 비전을 탐색함으로써 영성구현이 인간존엄과 공공행복의 계기임을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 인간적인 삶으로 영성을 모색하고 참 인간으로 사는 길에서 상호 인간존중이 이루어지는 영성인본주의를 가능하게 할 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 논의하려는 영성인본주의는 수도양생 신선사상과 도통진경 대순사상의 영성회통, 사인여천 동학사상과 인간존엄 대순사상의 영성회통, 그리고 발고여락 미륵사상과 해원상생 대순사상의 영성회통을 상호 대비함으로써 우주신인론의 영성전망을 상관연동으로 밝히고자 한다.

Since the human civilization, people's livelihood is dependent on natural resources primarily on forest. Human dimensions such as population, poverty, agricultural expansion and infrastructure development are some of the underlying factors and their interrelated associations which could play a vital role in deforestation and forest degradation. This process is not only related to the human population but also connected to the various socioeconomic factors. This paper focuses to link the spatio-temporal extent of population, poverty incidence and forest dependency and their severity on Terai forest of Nepal. Secondary data on censuses were used. ArcGIS and descriptive statistics were also used for data analysis. Based on analysis & literature review we concluded that population, poverty and forest dependency have largely expanded over time in Terai and their interrelated associations substantively influence on deforestation. However, the direct relationship of such factors with deforestation and forest degradation found to be incompatible, complex and hard to perceive with fragmented and inconsistency censuses data. So, deforestation and forest degradation issues intertwined with socioeconomic factors need detailed analysis to comprehend where these linkages are still unravel.

Even in this current high-tech industrial age, mythological imagination is considered important. Although each mythology scattered all across the world may have an insignificant origin, to understand that particular society fully, one must not mistakenly assume that the mythology itself is a production of a primitive mind. Ultramodern physics and futurology professor Freeman Dyson has also acknowledged this opinion. He insists that in order for human kind to survive into the far future it most keep in touch with its far past. Levi-Strauss also observes that mythology and science aren't a entirely separate domains. The scientific mind is regarded as a source of understanding the intrinsic qualities of mythology. Taking mythology and science as a binomial opposition, and only weighing their prospects, should be put to the past as we should recognize the need for mythology and science's qualitative unification. In this new point of view, regarding mythology as a meaningless irrationality should cease, while finding out why the inevitably related world of mythology needs metaphoric, ideological consideration. By utilizing 'Whale Rider' by Witi Ihimaera(2004) we will discover why our lives require an 'image' that is borrowed from our experience. The author, Witi Ihimaera, is originally from the Maori tribe, who approaches the world with a mythological imagination, which is not easy to understand with scientific thinking nor in modern civilization. When looking into the mythology of the ocean which still lives in modern civilization, while noting that the world is one, the author indicates that reality and unreality, nature and the super-natural, present and the past, science and fantasy, were not divided from the beginning. However, overtime humans have divided the borders. To do this, the author interprets the ancient emotions of the Maori tribe which have been traditionally accumulated in the group identity in a new literary way by introducing the Maori tribe's ancestral god, Paikia, who can converse with the ocean and the whales. This piece, which has been made into a movie and won awards in 5 international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, regards primitive emotions as a rational concept instead of an instrumental concept. Also these primative emotions are continuing their attempts to communicate with nature. Furthermore, it advises contemporary human beings who seek for eternal life to not exploit the cultural differences that have been formed naturally, and it is vital for human beings to transcend the ethnic boundaries and to think rationally. In the story, we can find "the dissimilar us" that philosopher E. Levinas mentioned in his sayings, which refers to responsible human beings who devote their lives for the sake of other people instead of fulfilling their own needs.

이 논문은 '감정 기계' 모티프를 설정함으로써, 우리 시대의 포스트 휴먼 현상이 매우 오래된 이야기 속 피조물들과 긴밀하게 연결되어 있으며, 인문학과 기술 문명, 동양과 서양의 문화적 역사적 경계를 넘어서 공유되는 인류의 보편적이면서도 지적인 상상력에 기반하고 있음에 주목했다. 신화 속 이야기에 등장하는 인간을 닮은 피조물들, 기술 문명 시대의 정교한 기계 장치를 통해 공포와 두려움을 불러일으켰던 기계 인간들, 디지털 기술 혁명 속에서 초월적인 형상과 능력을 갖게 된 포스트 휴먼들을 살펴봄으로써, 각각의 시대에 감정기계에 느꼈던 감수성과 인간다움의 조건을 밝히고자 했다. 그 과정에서 인간과 자연, 기계의 경계가 모호함을 이해하고, 인간중심적 인문학의 한계를 넘어, 21세기 포스트휴먼 시대 인간과 자연, 기계의 공존에 대해 음미해 보았다.

Chuneunja(天隱子) was publication that described the life nurturing(養生) of Taoism, consisted of 8 chapters. It was comparative primary writing and contained important contents in related to the life nurturing of Taoism. It belonged to the life nurturing of Taoism that influenced by Confucianism and Buddhism. It emphasized on the practical and rational thought that mastered morality by performing gradually. It showed the concrete asceticism method like to the basic regimen training of Taoism, for example mind control(調心), flesh control(調身), breath control(調息), conduction exercise(導引), raping teeth (叩齒法) and swallowing saliva(嚥津法). Oriental traditional regimen focused on realizing balanced human character by practicing human mind and body. It may show the direction to modern person that are troubled with harmful effect of modern civilization. If we throw away superstitious and unreal part in the traditional regimen and apply regimen in one's life, we may consider that regimen contribute to human health. Therefore, we require clear understanding for the classic data inherited from predecessors.

This study was intended to analyze the con-cept of unconsciousness of Surrealism on the fabric of modern fashion. Surrealism had been searching for a new way of confronting a social and artistic en-vironment that was stifling and repugnant to them. Especially the surrealistic methodology was changed into various methods of surreal-istic painters, They explored the world of subconsciousness of uncosciousness in the world of human being. The highly developed material civilization resulted in human alienations environmental disruption. By this fact human being of the 20th century was sought a philosophical and artistic value to overcome social disease. That is their search for spiritual world was interested in surrealist's psychoanalytical method. The fashion in the 20th century is changing rapidly for the new century to come. Under such circumstances as these modern fashion is attempted to pursue new innovative and in-dividual ideas. recently the mental images through Surrealism was represented in the for-mative feature of modern fashion. To study the concept of unconsciousness of Surrealism on the fabric of modern fashion I selected and examined artistic books and fashion magazines. As a result of this review I found that some fabrics used in modern fashion are printed in a free shapes without any meaning or form.

It has not been a long time since we recognize that a word 'DNA' is not unfamiliar with us. Development of biology give us so much of benefits of civilization and so we call the 21th century as 'biological period'. It has not been a long time that archeology made contact with biology. With biological development, DNA typing analysis has been accomplished extensively since 1990's. We know through mitochondrial DNA base sequencing analysis that the Neanderthal man is not the origin of the human race and ancient human race set out from Africa. Biological science technology, which is polymerase chain reaction(PCR) or electrophoresis etc., made these results possible. A contact between biology, especially genetics, and archeology is getting accomplished through these current. If genetics keep in contact with archeological foundation, we know not only about ancient populations in the Korean Peninsula, but also origin of human race. This field is so-called 'DNA Archeology'. This field is of help to person identification and children discrimination as like a forensic science. We make every effort for great possibilities from co-ownership of these two fields and these fields needs to convert a recognition, especially.

Through the action of Major Barbara, Shaw advocates the improvement of human race and civilization through fabian eugenic socialism in the based on the Galtonian eugenics and social Darwinism in late Victorian period. In the play, Shaw contrasts two ideologies, Barbara's spiritual institutionalized Christianity with Undershaft's worldly power to control the conventional society. For the dramatic purpose, Shaw symbolically combines the power of the munitions maker, the intellect of the scholar and the faith of the Salvationist. Shaw seems to believe that the best way of improving the human society can be comprised by effective eugenic agencies regarded Shavian trinities. In relation to the eugenic discourses for social betterment, this essay explores how Shaw's ideas on social eugenic is perceived in Major Barbara through main characters as spiritual, intellectual and economic agencies in terms of social Darwinism for the progress of the human society. As always, Shaw's evolutionary agencies are disillusionized from the idealistic faith through the realistic awareness of economic facts, which is manifested in their practices to advance the institutional society Shaw attacked. It is obvious that the significant facts of eugenic socialism/social eugenics based on social Darwinism are promoted by Barbara, Cusins and Undershaft in Major Barbara to maintain a worthy evolution of society and humanity.
