  • The purpose of this study is to scrutinize the change of Korean dwelling space terms, and confirm the value of literature as data for a study on dwelling space terms. The terms, which describe the dwelling space, were selected in 63 Korean literature. The terms about rooms, working spaces, space for physiology and hygienic, and storage spaces, were analyzed. The terms about rooms were classified by a constituent unit of traditional housing, location, size, function, and so on. Among them, the number of terms about function had increased more and more. These terms were changed by housing size, housing form, structure of house and household, family size, and so on. It was confirmed that literatures have utility values for a study on change of dwelling space terms. In next study, it is required to analyze the meaning and usage of Korean dwelling space terms, and to compare terms in floorplans with terms in literature.

  • This study aims to enhance the accuracy of effective demand analysis for publicly supported private rental housing by integrating the RIR into the traditional Mankiw-Weil (MW) model. Traditional models like the M-W model, which account for household income, housing costs, and household size, often fall short in estimating demand driven by large-scale development projects. By integrating the RIR factor, this study introduces a more accurate and practical approach to analyzing effective housing demand. Findings show that the modified M-W model incorporating RIR predicts effective demand with greater precision than traditional methods. This advancement allows developers to plan projects more efficiently and aids governments and local authorities in implementing more effective housing policies. Furthermore, the study assesses the real housing cost burden on households, elucidating their capacity to pay housing costs based on household size and income quintile. This information enables policymakers to design targeted housing support policies for specific demographic groups. Additionally, the research provides comprehensive policy recommendations tailored to various regions and housing types. Overall, this study lays a vital groundwork for the long-term analysis of the effects of economic changes and housing market trends on effective demand.

In the process, differences among the groups and multicollinearity and correlation between the variables are examined using analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis and factor analysis. The comprehensive analysis of reliability of the variable and comprehensivization ensure objectivity. For this analysis, the characteristics of the determining factors for apartment rental prices by sub-regions in Seoul are as follows : First, the housing supply rate appears center of the central and the southwest region is influenced by the cultural and ecological environment, convenience, the size of the complex and reputation of the developer. Second, the northeast region is generally influenced by the regional economy, housing size, the density of the complex, well-known construction companies and relevant variables of individual housing and the density of the complex, physical and social environment, reputation of the developer, local economy and housing size. • This research explores the generational similarities and discrepancies of socio-demographic and housing statuses between young adult children leaving the parental home and their parents. Utilizing the 20th Korean Labour and Income Panel Study (KLIPS), this study identified a total of 609 households who have left their parent home from 1999 to 2017. Two-thirds of the adult children were married couples while the rest was singles. Children's educational level was higher, and their household size was smaller than their parents. Both generations were mainly headed by employed and married men. The vast majority of the adult children lived in the same area with their parents and lived as tenants in much smaller housing than their parents. On the contrary, most parents were homeowners of a large single-family home. The generational differences were clearly observed in housing tenure, housing structure, and housing size. Although leaving parents' home is part of a transition to adulthoods (depending on the stability of the labor market and the affordability in the housing market), that process was largely triggered by the employment status that can lead to economic independence rather than their marital status. Both housing and job opportunities are important factors to determine independent life.

  • This study explored housing situation and expectations of young (age between 20 and 34 years) single-person Jeon-se renters and monthly renters with deposit in relation with their family support and own housing cost burden status. Major findings from the analysis of 1,695,729 households were as follows: (1) Among subjects, 27.4% received family supports to pay their rent deposit, and 39.4% had more 'own housing cost burdens' to have housing costs minus the amount supported by their family be 30% or more of their income. (2) More than 11% were found to be 'more burdened' despite receipt of family supports. (3) Family support status was found to be related to formation of first-time households and tenure changes, while own housing cost burden was found to be related to current housing situation and previous and next housing size changes. (4) Households received family supports showed a greater proportion of first-time households or households experienced tenure upgrades. (5) 'Less burdened' households tended to expect housing size upgrade in their next move more positively. Based on the study findings, it was suggested to extend supply of rental housing and housing subsidy targeting young renters in conjunction with programs to encourage their savings.

  • The ventilation efficiency of apartment housing bathroom has been measured by the flexible's diameter, length, and installation format to the exhaust In. The gas density attenuation method of Tracer Gas Method has been specifically utilized for this measurement. Full size mock-up of apartment housing bathroom, which was approximately $100 m^2$ in size, has been established for the ventilation emciency measurement. In addition, the ventilation efficiency has been studied by the possibility of air-supply In. The diameters of flexible are 100 mm, 125 mm, and 150mm. It also have the length of 1.0m, and 1.5 m. The installation formats are I shape, L shape, and S shape. As a result of this measurement, the flexible which has the highest ventilation efficiency was the one has bigger diameter, short in length, and I shape installation format.
