'직주불일치(spatial mismatch)' 가설에 따르면 현대도시의 공간구조가 저소득층에게 불리하게 형성되어 직장과 주거지의 불일치는 저소득층일수록 심각한 역진적(regressive) 관계가 나타난다. 본 연구는 서울시 통근자들의 통행조사 자료를 이용하여 소득에 따른 직주 불일치 정도의 차이를분 석함으로써 직주불일치 가설을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 소득을 비롯한 개인의 특성뿐만 아니라, 지가와 토지이용 등 통근목적지의 지역 특성을 함께 고려하여 직장이 위치한 지역 특성에 따라 개인의 소득이 통근시간에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 위계선형모형을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 지역특성을 통제할 경우 소득이 감소할수록 통근시간이 길어지고, 직장이 위치한 지역의 주택가격이 증가할수록 소득에 따른 통근시간 격차는 증대됨을 보여주고 있다. 이는 저소득층의 경우 개인의 소득과 주택부담능력으로 인해 비교적 주택가격이 저렴한 지역에 거주하면서 장시간 통근을 감당해야 함을 의미하여, 서울시에서도 소득 및 주택부담능력으로 인한 제한적 주거 선택에 의해 직주불일치 현상이 나타나고 있음을 시사한다. 이러한 직주불일치 문제는 사회적 형평성 차원에서 정책적으로 중요하게 다루어져야 할 것으로 보인다.

본 연구는 18년간의 보수당 정권 하에서 영국의 사회주택정책이 겪은 변화의 주요 내용과 결과를 고찰함으로써 그 성격을 파악하고 무리 나라에 유용한 정책적 합의를 획득하려는 목적을 갖는다. 연구자는 연구를 위하여 1년 동안 영국에 머물면서 주제와 관련된 1,2차 자료들은 물론, 현지 학자들의 의견에 직접 접할 기회도 활용하였다. 사회주택정책의 변화는 70년대 경제 위기 이후의 영국 복지국가 재편작업의 일환으로 추진되었다. 보수당 정부는 시영주택의 대규모 매각 등 민영화와 시장화 정책을 정열적으로 추진하였으며, 공공지출의 삭감과 보조금 제도의 개혁 등을 통하여 이를 뒷받침하였다. 정책변화의 결과 주거유형의 분포와 지방정부의 역할 등에서 가시적인 변화가 나타났으며, 사회정책적으로는 주택부족, 공공부문의 잔여화 현상, 주거비 부담의 증대, 보조금 배분의 역진성, 의존의 증가 둥 부정적 현상이 두드러졌고, 목적했던 공공지출의 삭감도 달성하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 결국 복지국가 위기에 대한 신자유주의적 대응은 국가역할의 철폐가 아닌 재 정향으로 나타났으며, 이에 따를 복지국가의 변화된 모습 둥은 우리나라 사회주택정책의 정립과 복지국가 모델의 형성을 위해 시사하는 바가 크다.

This study examined the indoor exercise environment use and needs of older adults. The target population was seniors aged 60 years and older living in a newly developed apartment complex. Variables include demographic and housing characteristics, status of exercise, and indoor exercise environmental evaluation and needs. A total of 102 data items were analyzed using frequency, t-test and ANOVA. Noteworthy results are as below. First, community centers and community welfare centers were the most desirable exercise environments because of affordability, exercise programs/spaces. Such exercise environments should be developed in more locations for increasing numbers of seniors. Second, indoor exercise environments need to be improved based on seniors' physical capabilities and environmental behavior. Third, supportive spaces such as restrooms, shower rooms, locker rooms should be carefully designed. Fourth, seniors wanted to have walking trails and indoor swimming pools, the most desirable exercise spaces, within ten to 15 minutes walking distance.

The supply of Korean housing has met the demand thoughout the fourth quarter of the twentieth century, and demographic, social and economic changes have been entailed. All the circumstances became a significant foundation to develop digital homes. This study was designed to find out the residents' current use of and needs for digital services, and the interview with three housewives residing in a recently developed digital home was conducted. The three households used most of the digital services, and favored cellular phone, as the main device to use digital functions, since it's small and easy to carry out and operate. It was noticed that the use and preference of digital services was likely to be explained by the lifecycle each household and the lifestyles of an individual. The participants didn't use the webpage of the digital home since the information contained in the web site wasn't quite useful. Also the interviewees perceived that digital home brings many conveniences and benefits. Currently, the main constraints for further development of digital home in Korea are affordability and the establishment of a variety of life scenarios from real situations.
